  1. Time to make another contribution to the "alcoholics of TPR" thread. Today I ended the evening at the pub with a 1664 Blanc (damn this thing is delicious) followed by two "Småtøs" from the local 7 Fjell (7 mountains) brewery. Good stuff!
  2. Nice trip report! I knew about Desert Storm, but very little about the park. Looks like quite a nice place to spend a few hours. Funny you should say that, after looking at the video and seeing the trackshaping and transitions, smooth is not the first word I'm thinking of. But I guess looks can be deceiving some times...
  3. ^&^^ I can say for sure that it was an Arrow. I think this picture says it all.
  4. The idea of a standup train on an Arrow corkscrew is absolutely terryfying! The fact that it actually happened is just beyond me...
  5. LOL I laughed way too hard at this post!! But yeah, those trains looks absolutely hideous!
  6. I'm getting more and more curious about this one. I've seen plenty of modifications having to be done during construction of a ride, and normally it's only minor things to fix, but this one looks liks a far more severe issue than anything I've ever seen. Even makes me wonder if the track will actually stay or if it might be replaced with the track.
  7. After being rewarded with a couple of sunny days nature has decided to restore balance and sends us another storm tonigh. Oh joy... Rest of the week is going to be sh*t as well...
  8. Looks really good, always nice to see an old ride get some much needed love. Maybe they'll have some remaining paint when they're done with Revolution. I'm sure Tatsu would look good in blue.
  9. That's a fantastic looking train! Looks like it's going to be a great ride, definitely looking forward to ride it on my next visit to Orlando (whenever that will be...)
  10. Temperature just below freezing. Not a single complaint from me today.
  11. DisneySea is such an amazing looking place, I would LOVE to go there one day! Thanks for sharing the pictures!
  12. 5 1/2 months without riding a rollercoaster... 3 months without going to the stadium, and it's still another month until football (soccer) season starts... ... .. . A million thanks to the person who invented beer!!!
  13. That was pretty cool! I clicked on the video link before reading the description, so I got a little surprise. As the ride approached the end I thought the switch tracks were needlessly complicated, but I didn't expect it to go around twice without stopping, so that was pretty sweet. If you add flanges to the supports and a couple of trees it will look a lot better. I also like the name. No translation needed for me...
  14. The wood structure seems reduntant when you have the steel trusses. As said above, it's just concept art and doesn't always match 100% with what is being built. I at least will wait and see before making any conclusions.
  15. The ride is coming along nicely! Those GCI curves sure are beautiful!!
  16. Normall I would say "I'm sure it's just the camera angle", but I have to say on this one I'm not sure, the wobbling looks far greater than anything I've ever seen on a piece of straight track on a steel coaster. Would be very interesting to see more pictures of this from different angles. Should we call Intamin just in case they haven't noticed during construction?? As long as it brakes the train and doesn't break the train I'm happy! (although the current track looks like it might do both) I'm not sure this is a bad thing, might provide more of a freefall sensation.
  17. ^That actually makes a lot of sense. I didn't think about it when I saw the video, but when you're a zoo starting to develop into a combined zoo and thrill park, it makes sense to check out how a park like BGT has combined the two. Great to hear they will start putting track in place soon, really looking forward to see that!
  18. Think I have to give another vote to the Batman clones, it's amazing how much action is packed into a relatively small space. That is another good candidate. I loved Thunderbird @ PowerPark, which American Thunder is a clone of.
  19. Wait, does this mean I live in Iowa?? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norway,_Iowa
  20. A big NOPE from me, there is no way I would be going on that thing. That definitely looks like a potential neck breaker!
  21. Very nice video! Kraken is a very fun ride, nothing mindblowing, but just a lot of fun. Have to say, there sure is a great view of Mako when cresting the lift hill. Also have to mention that Kraken gave me a very memorable ride last year. We were riding in the front seat, and noticed that the ride felt mysteriously quiet (well, as quiet as an old-school B&M can be). We couldn't tell why though until we were stopped on the final brakes and realized there were not a single person behind us on the train, only the 3 of us in the front row.

  23. Awesome pics, thanks for sharing! That first drop and inversion look incredible!
  24. ^Me too, I really liked that movie. Having the tavern in the park is a good idea.
