  1. Good to see the ride coming together, should be a great addition to a park like Lake Compounce. It looks like Premier hit a homerun with this model, with the two opening this year it's up to 6 rides sold and I will not be surprised if we see more of these being built.
  2. Wow I had completely forgotten about this one! I have to say, those vertical spikes look rather intimidating.
  3. ^They are 100% wooden coasters! It's just that the track is manufactured and assembled in a different way. On traditional wooden coasters, the track is built onsite by adding layers of wood. On Intamin prefabs the track is manufactured offsite and is assembled in a fashion more similar to the way steel coasters are assembled. See below picture of what the Intamin prefab track looks like before assembly.
  4. Yeah that looks really good! Should be a fantastic sight once it's all assembled and fangs are installed.
  5. Woah I didn't see that coming! I thought this ride was left to rot, and was expecting it to come down sooner or later. I guess they plan to re-open the ride then, very interesting. I like the color scheme, looks very nice.
  6. Just remembered the Alton Towers wooden coaster. The plans sure looked amazing!
  7. Ah I remember seeing this picture a long time ago. It would have been interesting for sure, although I think it's safe to say SFFT went for the better option. Yeah, that layout looks really good! I love the straight drop followed by a flat turn into the Norwegian loop.
  8. ^^Thanks for sharing the pictures, getting close to finished now. Looking forward to see the final result. Well, it is in a seperate theme park so....
  9. I wasn't expecting the lift to be that fast. That first drop looks awesome! Looks good to me, I didn't think it was that slow through the outside banked turn.
  10. I'm starting to get a bit more excited about this. Really like how they are building it into the terrain. Will be interesting to see when they finish the ride itself and start with scenery and theming.
  11. Villa, a Norwegian soda from the 60's and one of my favorites.
  12. Looks fantastic! I loved visiting during Flower & Garden Festival last year, the whole park is extra beautiful during this time of year. (I still have my 2015 Flower & Garden Magic Band)
  13. ^That's the same as the trains on Speedmonster. It will look very funny with trains that small on such a large ride.
  14. It sure is a funny looking ride! It doesn't look like much from the video, but I can definitely imagine this being very fun when you're on the ride. With the trackless technology you don't know where you're going, and I can easily see one getting the feeling that you're going to hit other cars along the way.
  15. It's really nice isn't it? No longer dark when driving home from work.
  16. Just came across a clip I haven't seen in a very long time, a very funny fight scene from the Norwegian action-comedy movie "Kill Buljo" (2007). The music they used for this scene is a kids song from the 60's about wanting a puppy. Watch with annotations on and it includes translation of the dialogue.
  17. ^Please excuse me while I go and replace my brain with one that works!
  18. Haha that is funny! Yes, very strange indeed, considering Hansa Park seems to put a lot of attention to detail in their theming. *Edited for stupidity due to brain not working! See quote in post below. Feel free to laugh at me.
  19. Makes me wonder what kind of sound effects you can have during a shark themed during rollercoaster. A roaring shark maybe...?? (at 0:04)
  20. Just listened through the whole ting and I must say I really enjoyed it. Even though I've been following pretty much every trip report you have done, it's still fun to listen to your various experiences around the world. Makes me want to travel, and my desire to visit Tokyo Disney Resort definitely didn't become any less when listening to someone talk about it with such enthusiasm! Oh, and I will definitely listen to the "Robb Alvey versus the Blackfish weirdos" podcast...
  21. Hansa Fatøl (Draft Beer), the best of the "standard" beers in Norway.
  22. Of the rides I have seen with my own eyes, my vote goes to the Mondial Roll Over that was at Tusenfryd in 2004-2007. I believe it was a trailer mounted ride, hideously ugly colours and a fairground style lighting package that was rather unneccessary as Tusenfryd is never open after dark any way. The whole ride just looked really cheap, was not very pleasent to ride, and if me memory serves me right it made some rather awful noises as well. So glad they removed it after just a couple of years.
  23. That looks great! I love how they keep adding to an already fantastic park to make it even better!
  24. I think these boat jokes are getting old. Time to let it sink...
