  1. In college one of our assignments in my Speech class was to give an informative speech. I gave mine on the history of SFMM.
  2. ^^ So that isn't Frank singing that song. I didn't know that. ^ I got a headache from the major headbang at the end of the ride last time too. The two women in the row next to me were actually talking about whether or not they should go to Guest Relations and put it on record that they may have been injured on the ride just in case they ended up needing treatment after leaving the park. I have always found X/X2 somewhat rough but that was the first time I have ever walked away from the ride due to pain, and on a day with no line too. I will try to sit on the inside seats next time since I have found them smoother than the outside seats in the past too.
  3. I got a big laugh from those preshow comments too. Especially since they used to let you skip the preshow when the ride had no line and now they make you watch it either way. I wish they would change that back to how it was before. They do still let everyone use the Flash Pass entrance when there is no line, which saves a lot of walking.
  4. I could ask about the expiration date but my next two visits will probably both be on school days anyway. The park will probably be empty like last time and the skip the line pass may expire before I go on another crowded day when I would really want to use it. The main reason I want to get the Funatics rewards started is so I can get all five rewards and get a discount on my Xtreme Pass next year. Rewards 2-4 are useless to me and on a school day the skip the line pass may not be needed either. I think the expiration date is to get you to come back sooner. They want you to come back and hopefully spend more money while you are there.
  5. ^^ That's why I'm concerned. I was there on 3/23 and have not received anything yet. I e-mailed the park right after my previous post this afternoon. Rewards are only valid at the park you bought the pass from but visits to any park count toward the program. ^ Yes, you do have to join Six Flags Funatics. I joined as soon as it was available too. I wonder if the expiration date is affected by the date you visit the park.
  6. Thank you. I have been checking the spam folder and the e-mail didn't go there. I haven't received anything. I'm going to e-mail the park right now and ask what happened.
  7. ^^ By the way, Eric, you went to the park earlier this month and received an exit pass the next day right? I was there last Tuesday and have not received one yet. I hope there isn't a problem.
  8. ^ The last Raven turn is where I really slammed my head but the other Raven turn hit me pretty hard too. In my experience, the last Raven turn is a little rough even on it's best days. My legs do get tossed around in certain spots but not enough to be a problem. I didn't have the same problems with headbanging as you did since I was already in my mid 20's when it opened. I just hope I don't whack my head like that again next time I go, since that was the first time it had happened to that extent and X2 is my favorite coaster. ^ I have always had problems with my teeth even though I take care of them. My dentist said it's genetic. Also, I saw my first SFMM commercial of the year on Friday night.
  9. On X2 I only hear the audio until the top of the lift hill then nothing more until you re-enter the station. On Terminator I have always been able to hear the audio for the entire ride. Well, except for my last visit when the audio was turned off. I enjoy the audio on both rides but it doesn't make or break the rides for me. I enjoy them even without it. The audio is just icing on the cake to me, it adds a little to the experience. For the most part I have not found X2 to be any more rough or smooth than it was as X.
  10. Sorry to quote myself, but this seemed to fit. This was the first visit in which I have had this much of a problem on X2 and I have been to the park about once a month since the remodel and also for nearly a year before that. I slammed my head so hard on the third X2 ride on Tuesday that I decided not to ride it again even though it had no line. I am going to give it another chance on my next visit, next month and hopefully it won't happen again. If I have no problems next time I will call this a one time thing and keep riding it but if it happens again I may have to decide whether I should ride it anymore which would be very depressing if I have to decide not to.
  11. My parents and I went to CGA on vacation in 1991. The park was very empty and my dad and I went on Demon, Grizzly and Vortex multiple times, probably at least 10 times each since there were no lines. I did not go on Greased Lightnin' since I viewed it as being exactly the same as Montezooma's Revenge and I only wanted to ride coasters which were different than the ones I had been riding on a regular basis at SFMM and KBF. I now regret missing a credit on a coaster which is no longer there at a park which I may never get to go to again. I did not go on Blue Streak on that visit either since I had no interest in riding a kiddie coaster.
  12. I've only been on three so this really isn't much of a list, but here it goes. 1. Deja Vu, SFMM 2. Batman: TR, SFMM 3. Silver Bullet On my overall ranking of the 55 coasters I have rode, Deja Vu is #3, Batman: TR is #6 and Silver Bullet is #11.
  13. ^^^ That's what I was thinking too. The kiddie coasters I have been on at SFMM, KBF, Castle Park, Scandia and Adventure City were all better than Pony Express. The Freeway Coaster at Adventure City actually had a pretty forceful first drop which slid me across the seat when it made that first sharp right turn. I had much more fun on that one than Pony Express.
  14. That's very cool that they made that special audio track for WCB and it sounded very funny too.
  15. ^^ That could back up my idea that I was singled out and hassled. Either that or they changed the policy really fast. Either way, I won't be going back so it's no big deal to me anymore. I got the two credits and was already planning for this to be a one time visit before I even went there.
  16. ^^ There have been many times when I have heard young children get off of Pony Express and immediately start talking about how much it sucks. Just my opinion too, but I find it short, boring and forceless. I actually have it ranked as the worst coaster I've ever rode including kiddie coasters.
  17. There are SFMM tickets for sale on ebay which have been bid up so high that they cost more than if you buy them online from the park. Apparently the buyers have not checked for better deals.
  18. ^ I agree completely. I was just about to post that.
  19. The Colossus marathon is in the middle of Spring Break. I hope the park is going to run both tracks. I already have an Xtreme Pass and can't chew gum anymore due to the four crowns I've had put in and a root canal. I wouldn't be interested in riding the same ride for 6 straight hours anyway.
  20. Riddler's Revenge on Tuesday night. Walk on to the front row and rode twice without exiting the train. I was on the coaster when the park closed. Started the first ride 6 minutes before the park closed.
  21. Thanks for the info. If the rule was rescinded it happened very recently since I was there 4 months ago. At the time I went, the rule was not posted on their website. If it would have been posted, I would not have gone.
  22. ^^^ I think Silver Bullet is underrated too. My favorite places to ride it are row 1 and row 8. I like the wind you get in the front and being able to watch the track fly by and the extra g-force you feel in the back row. I still love GhostRider too.
  23. ^^^ I think Scream is a great ride and agree that they should keep the current colors. I like it when coasters have multiple colors too.
  24. There isn't much I can add at this point but I just want to say that I agree with the Tylenol suggestion. I take one extra strength Tylenol before almost every park visit and it really reduces any light headaches and body soreness I get from riding all day. Once in a while I forget to take it and even though I can still go all day I do notice some difference in how I feel toward the end of the day. Even a smooth coaster can take it's toll after 8 hours of near constant riding.
