  1. Thank you. Let's hope that any really means any. I won't be using the pass to ride Percy either.
  2. ^^ I'm surprised by that too. I notice many of the other people who have responded to this topic are younger than us. Maybe they did not associate the name with the song immediately like we did.
  3. ^^ Agreed completely. My pass has already paid for itself this year. ^ Thanks for the info. Does it say anything about which rides you can use it on? Or more specifically is it valid on X2? Last time I was at the park they had a sign up which said Funatics rewards were only valid for visits from 5/15-9/7. It's nice to know it has started early but, since it expires in May, that destroys my plan to use the skip the line pass during Summer Break since I am going to the park in about two weeks. On the plus side, the early start pretty much guarantees that I will be able to get all five rewards.
  4. ^^^ That is the first thing I thought of too. I was actually going to post it until I scrolled down and saw that you already did. Luca sounds feminine to me because I associate it with the song.
  5. Wow. I'm very surprised that the crowds were that light today with it being Physics Day. I visited the park on Physics Day one time and it was absolutely packed with 1-2 hour lines on every coaster and both flumes. Same thing at KBF once too. Due to those experiences and the articles I have seen in the newspapers about how crowded the parks usually are on that day I usually avoid both parks when that event is going on. I kind of wish I would have gone today instead of last Sunday now. Right now I am planning to go on 3/25.
  6. ^^^ I agree. Also, if you get to stay on the train and ride again there could be a problem since the ride ops in the station are not the same ones who take your reservation on many of the coasters. ^ I agree that the Six Flags information pages leave a lot to be desired. I would not be surprised if X2 works the same way on the Platinum as the Gold and the website just doesn't say that yet. In my opinion, the Flash Pass page will probably be updated again soon.
  7. I was just checking the Flash Pass information screen to see if it has been updated to show that Terminator is now on the Regular Flash Pass and it has been updated. While checking this I noticed that it also shows that they are now selling a Platinum Flash Pass which allows you to wait then ride twice. It is very expensive at $89 for one person and $66 for each additional person. At those prices my best guess is that you probably get the reduced wait time of a Gold Flash Pass and then get two rides. As often as I go there and with the price that high I will probably not use it. I have had very good days at the park getting many re-rides on busy days with a Regular Flash Pass.
  8. Last time I was at KBF in January I tried to ride Timberline Twister just because I had not been on it since my first visit to the park in 1983 and thought it might be fun to try it again. I was exactly at the maximum height but decided not to ride because when they tried to put down the lap bar I was completely squashed. The ride op said that if I straddled the T bar I would probably make it but I decided that the pain of being stapled like that in a tiny seat was not worth it on a kiddie coaster.
  9. Sounds right to me too. For a while now my dad, who is also a coaster enthusiast, mom, and I have been joking every year about how the commercials start just in time for every line in the park to be a mile long for Spring Break. I bet that's probably why they start airing their commercials around this time of year.
  10. The rode the Screamin' Swing for the first and only time in 2005. I found it very boring, much too short and not worth the money which is why I have not rode it again since. At $5 there are plenty of upcharge rides (like at SFMM) which are much more expensive so it will not be so terrible to pay to try it and see what you think. To be honest I doubt that you will ever want to ride it again after that first try.
  11. I rode Desperado for the first time in Dec, 1995 and loved it. I do remember it being much smoother then. If it was still like that I would say it's the best in the Vegas area and would probably be one of my favorites overall. The temperature was in the 30's when we rode it and the wind chill on the coaster made it feel like your face was going to freeze. Agreed that the High Roller was lame.
  12. Desperado is really good too, but I put Canyon Blaster ahead of it since I have found Desperado to be very rough. I rode that in July, 08 also and it gave me a back ache. Actually I rode all the coasters in Vegas on that trip, except for Speed: The Ride which was closed. Canyon Blaster seems like a mini Viper to me. Viper has been one of my favorite coasters since it opened so that is probably also working in Canyon Blaster's favor.
  13. I've been on the Canyon Blaster, most recently in July 2008, and actually thought it was a pretty good ride. Not the biggest or most intense coaster out there but a lot of fun. I got some good lateral G's on the right turn following the two loops. Granted there are only a few coasters in Vegas but the Canyon Blaster is my favorite in the city. If your girlfriend is afraid of that she will freak out on X2.
  14. According to the parks website Deja Vu and Ninja are scheduled to reopen on March 20. Batman is scheduled to reopen on March 7. The same ride op which told me about Terminator being added to the Regular Q-bot told me the same thing on Sunday. Every time I have purchased a Q-bot (6 times) it has taken 10 minutes or less. The key is to get to the park before they open and go directly to the Flash Pass Center to beat the crowd. That is what I did 5 of those times. On Sunday I didn't buy it until the early afternoon and got in with no wait again. You have to watch a training video which is a few minutes long. In my experience it has taken longer to watch the video than to purchase the Q-bot after that. On a crowded day you will probably have to wait much longer if you do not go directly there.
  15. The first time I went on X I waited 2 hours and later that day it had a 4 hour line. I did not ride it on Sunday since the entire queue was full ten minutes after the park opened and it had one train running. That was the first time I have seen it run with one train since the remodel. Some people I talked to in line for Terminator later that day told me that their daughters waited 3 hours to ride it that afternoon and with a full queue and one train that is really possible. I have found that with a full queue and two trains the line takes 90 minutes. Keep in mind that the last week of this month is the start of Spring Break. If that is when you are going I think you should get the Gold Q-bot. After not being there for such a long time and driving a fairly long way it will be worth is to guarantee some re-rides on most of the coasters and get on X2 without using up a huge chunk of your day.
  16. ^^^^^ Thanks for the info. I'm planning to go to the park sometime this month so that is really nice to know.
  17. ^^^^ Thanks for noticing that in my post. The main Flash Pass info screen still shows Terminator as a "pay extra" but the link you click on to purchase a Q-bot says that X2 is the only one which requires an extra fee. I reserved Terminator with a Regular Q-bot twice on Sunday so it definitely has been changed. A ride op told me that the change was just made last weekend and was actually the main reason I decided to get a Q-bot that day. When are you going to the park? I have found that the Gold Q-bot is not really necessary. I went to SFMM last August and got on 39 total rides using a Regular on a day when they closed at 8:00. The entire parking lot was filled so the park was definitely crowded. I also got on 29 rides last June with a Regular on a day they closed at 6:00. If money is not an issue and you don't want to wait at all get the Gold, but you may find that a Regular would have worked very well.
  18. I think your pictures are awesome too. Some of the best I've seen on any site.
  19. You won't need a Q-bot on a May weekday. Almost every time I have been to the park on a May weekday I have had walk ons on almost every coaster. The only exception is the week of Memorial Day but that week is actually in June this year so it doesn't matter. Assuming you are not going on Memorial Day, you shouldn't need it.
  20. ^^^^ I agree. An offer for an upgrade to a Gold or an additional discount on a Regular would be much better since I already get the free rental. I am really happy that Terminator is now included on the Regular Q-bot too.
  21. One other thing I meant to post in my TR. When I bought the Q-bot they had me fill out a form with my name and e-mail address so they could send me Flash Pass offers and information. This was the first time they've had me do that and I've bought a Q-bot five other times. I wonder if I will be getting some promotions or discounts eventually.
  22. Probably not the most impressive list you've ever seen but here it is. I'm pretty sure this is all of them. If only I had more money. Six Flags Magic Mountain Knott's Berry Farm Disneyland Disney's California Adventure California's Great America Adventuredome Scandia Castle Park Adventure City Belmont Park MGM Grand Adventures Nascar Cafe Stratosphere Tower Universal Studios Hollywood Seaworld San Diego Water parks: Raging Waters Wild Rivers Soak City (Orange County)
  23. I always give the high five back to them too. Those OTSRs need to go. I hate them too. Question for anyone who knows about the technical stuff more than I do. Is there any reason why they can't use a lap bar and a seat belt, like on Montezooma's Revenge, if they feel that a lap bar alone is not enough? Also, I forgot one thing in my TR. The first time I rode Terminator somebody on the ride threw some pennys at the ride op on the controls when the train went thru the station fly thru. The ride op called security. I don't know what happened after that but I hope the person was ejected. One of the penny's hit the guy in back of me in line and missed me by inches. About 10 minutes later I saw 4 L.A. County Sheriffs walking toward that section of the park. I don't know if this is related to what happened on Terminator.
  24. I have had walk ons on X2 on school days and a few Sundays in December and January. On Season Pass Appreciation Day, 9/11/09, I got on X2 14 times total including 10 times in the first hour I was there. I have found that riding X2 first usually works best but only if you are in line at the park entrance before they open. Today I got to the entrance plaza about 10 minutes after opening and it did not work. I have found that to be pretty common too. I was at the park today too. First the big news. Terminator is now included on the Regular Q-bot. It is no longer a pay extra ride on Gold only. This was a big shock when I walked passed the Flash Pass building and saw Terminator on the ride list and a large part of the reason I got a Regular bot today. A ride-op which I have started to talk to told me that this just started and was done because the lines have not been as long as they expected. Value books will be available next weekend. I walked up to the Processing Center with my pass in my hand. The girl outside saw my pass and said "I already know why you're here." Then told me that they would have them next weekend. The guy at the toll booth recognized me when I drove up and asked me how many time I have been there recently. I told him I have been coming about once a month for a few years. This is the 5th employee who has recognized me in my last two visits and before that it had never happened before. I guess I really do go there a lot. Employees were very friendly. Just about everyone I saw smiled back and told me to have a great day if I had any reason to talk to them. Ride ops were clapping high-fiving on just about every coaster I rode. I was wearing my Tatsu t-shirt and a ride op on Tatsu said "that's a great shirt" when I walked by in the queue. A little girl told a ride op on Revolution that today was her birthday and the ride op sang Happy Birthday to her on the microphone. I got on 26 total rides. Eric already posted the ride closures and I skipped X2 today for the same reason he did. I walked over there at 10:40am and the entire queue was already filled. It stayed that way every time I checked it from Viper's lift hill. Here are my totals. Revolution: 4. All walk ons. Viper: 4. 3-4 train wait twice and two walk ons. Tatsu: 3. 10 minute wait for first ride of the day at 10:45. Used Q-bot twice later when it had a one hour wait. Terminator: 4. 20 min wait, 45 min wait. Used Q-bot twice later when it had a 60-90 min wait. Riddler's Revenge: 2. 10 min wait both times. Tried to ride it again later but it was broke down. Gold Rusher: 2. Walk ons. Scream: 2. Two train wait both times. Colossus: 2. Both walk ons when I rode it right after Scream. I tried to ride it before Scream but it broke down. About 15 minutes later is was open again. Goliath: 2. Waited 15 mins and made a reservation at the same time. After the first ride my reservation was ready so I went thru the Flash Pass entrance without exiting thru the normal exit and rode again with a 3 train wait. Jet Stream: 1. Walk on.
  25. ^^^^ Thank you. Hopefully Superman will be open today with good weather. I know it's not one of the very best but I do still enjoy it. I went to the park on this same weekend last year, on 3/1/09, and almost all the coasters were walk ons except for X2. I am hoping for a similar visit today.
