  1. Hi everyone, My name is Austin. I live in Anaheim, CA. I have been visiting SFMM and KBF regularly, multiple times per year, since my parents took me to each park for the first time in 1983. My dad is also a coaster enthusiast and he is the one who got me started riding. I've been on 60 coasters and my favorite is X2. I also go to Disneyland occasionally, since I have a cousin who works there and I can get in free, but I mostly only enjoy thrill rides. I am much closer to KBF and Disney, but I consider SFMM to be my home park, since I enjoy it the most and go there much more often than any other park. I am a huge Los Angeles Angels fan, I enjoy watching almost any sci-fi show and am a huge cat lover.
  2. - Favorite new coaster - X/X2. It was my favorite coaster before and after the remodel. - Favorite new ride - Also X2. - Favorite new park - Not a new park but I visited Scandia for the first time. The Screamer was somewhat of a hidden gem for me. I liked it much more than I expected to. - Most memorable park moment - Season Pass Appreciation Day at SFMM. I rode X2 over a dozen times and still got on every other coaster multiple times each in only six hours. - Most memorable coaster moment - My first ever rides on X, Tatsu, Terminator Salvation, Silver Bullet, Sierra Sidewinder and Xcelerator. - Best ERT session - Not technically ERT, but Season Pass Appreciation Day was close. We were allowed to ride any ride we wanted as many times as we chose to, without exiting the trains. - Least favorite coaster - Pony Express. Short, boring and almost forceless. - Least favorite ride - Also Pony Express. - Least favorite park - Hard to say I don't like any of the parks I have been to, but I don't enjoy Disneyland or DCA very much, just because there aren't enough thrill rides. - Most interesting ride you've seen introduced - X2 - Least interesting ride you've seen introduced - Pony Express. - The decade's biggest flop - Hard Rock Park - The decade's biggest success - Not sure. I didn't always follow all the developments like I have in the last couple years. At the moment Legoland California comes to mind. - The best meal you've had at a park - Almost anything at the Mooseburger Lodge at SFMM or the Ghost Town Grille at KBF. - The worst meal you've had at a park - The taco combo at SFMM and an ice cold chili cheese dog at KBF.
  3. It seems that way. I sure won't miss the one at SFMM. I stopped riding it a very short time after it opened due to the horrible headaches it gave me.
  4. Cool that Goliath will reopen this weekend. It was closed on my last two visits. I will be going again later this month. The most funny promo comment I have heard was on Terminator Salvation. The ride op said "make sure you get a burrito combo at Los Cuates grill."
  5. Glad you had a good visit, even though it was shortened by rain. I took advantage of the $59.99 annual pass deal when I renewed last month too. Even with parking added it was only $99.99, the lowest price I have paid in many years of being a KBF pass holder. I am surprised that the coasters stayed open in the rain. I was there on a day when there was just a tiny bit of drizzle two years ago, and they closed almost everything except Boomerang and Supreme Scream.
  6. Glad you had a great visit. I was also at Magic Mountain two weeks ago. The park was very empty when I was there too. I was disappointed that Goliath was closed, since it was scheduled to reopen on 12/19, but otherwise it was a great day. When I was there Colossus was closed, but it is not one of my favorites anymore so that's not that big of a deal. I was wondering the same things you were about the Gotham City Backlot. It appeared that a lot of work was being done in that area, other than just Batman being painted.
  7. Pony Express at Knott's. I find it slow, boring and almost pointless. It is the only coaster I have ever rode in which my first thought when it was over was that I didn't enjoy it.
