  1. You might want to check out the Emporium store too. It's the largest in the park and located at the main entrance.
  2. Why build one when you can have two at twice the price? ...And twice the capacity, theoretically.
  3. Absolutely not, stay positive. I think this is going to a hugh improvement and put the Texas Giant back on people's top 10-20 lists. As for Shockwave's wraps, I have to agree that they don't look too bad at all. It's probably because it has a similar color scheme, so it doesn't clash as much with the track.
  4. Great TRs so far, looks like everyone is having a great time. ...Elephant tug of war and Tony Hawk water challenge = awesome. Once again I have to say that SFDK is one of my favorite parks in the SF chain and it appears they definitely know how to throw a kick arse bash. ...along with Robb and Elissa of course.
  5. Add me to the list of people who really enjoyed Iron Man 2. ...Definitely well done, especially for a sequel. Grade-A
  6. I have a feeling this thread is about to get a little busier just in time for the weekend.
  7. If memory serves me correct from last year, it was about 2 hours from the airport in Cleveland and 2 1/2 hours from Kennywood. It's really not that bad, but I would have a GPS or a mapquest printout handy.
  8. ...Better not ride Cedar Point's Shoot the Rapids ride then.
  9. I couldn't agree more about Waldameer. I absolutely loved this place when I visited last year. Ravine Flyer II and Steel Dragon made for a great one-two punch, and Comet was one of the best junior woodies I've been on. I'm glad you had a good time and thanks for the trip report.
  10. This is a great idea!!!! ...IF I ever have kids I'm naming them Obi-Wan and Indiana. Oh and my goldfish, Jaws of course.
  11. I find both rides to be great, even though I put Spiderman a notch above. If I was to make a list of overall favorite dark rides, only Spiderman, TOT (DHS), and MIB would be ahead of DarKastle.
  12. I'm kinda partial to GA Scorcher, though I'm sure the bigger B&Ms will win out in this poll. Edit: Having now voted, I see that only Riddler's Revenge has more votes. ...Good to see.
  13. I would like to nominate GASM at SFOG. ...Talk about jack hammering you at the bottom of every single hill, my ride yesterday did just that.
  14. I'll actually miss Corkscrew Hill. But I'm glad to hear the new ride is at least half way decent, if not an improvement over the old ride. Now just give us that kick arse Intamin Drop Tower next year, and I'll be a very happy BGW fanboy.
  15. I was at the park this past Tuesday and it's very interesting listening to what the GP thinks is going on at the construction site. Heck, there were more people watching the construction workers then were in line for some of the rides. ...Maybe they should have a queue to view the laying of the railroad tracks.
  16. Edit: Nevermind, Elissa already responded.
  17. I really could see them doing their own scaled down version of TOT, much like they did with DarKastle. ...What a one-two punch for BGW that would be.
  18. ^Don't even say that or think it!!!
  19. For me, weekdays in early to mid June have always been a favorite time of the year to visit BGW. The only days I like better are the fridays after Labor Day.
  20. ^Very true. Just look at Storm Runner as a prime example. I must say that a mega lite would look awfully good at SWO, to go along with that BGT terra coaster and BGW drop tower. In all seriousness, I think Dollywood or SDC would a great candidate for a mega lite, based on size of park, park budget, and attendance.
  21. ^^Kumba will be down in May (3rd-27th), so I'm sure it will get a fresh coat of paint then. I'm actually heading to the park on Tuesday to get a few rides in before it closes for rehab.
  22. Just because the mega lites that have been built so far are copies doesn't mean that those are the only layouts they will do. I'm sure if "a park" was to come to them and ask for a different layout, they would do it. Remember that 3 of those 4 mega-lites that you speak of were built in China or Japan, which have a strong history of building clones. Not to mention, it was kind of like a new style coaster at the time. ...As you know, Six Flags did the same thing with the Batman coasters and the S:ROS rides at SFA/DL. It's just a little cheaper way of getting a kick-arse coaster from Intamin or B&M. So if BGT was ever to get a mega lite, I wouldn't automatically assume it would be a clone. ...Kumba, Montu, SheiKra, AC, Alpengeist, and Griffon all prove that.
