Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread

^Oh yeah, it's working in the park that killed you. When I was working at a park it ruined me from ALL parks. It's one of the reasons I won't ever go back to working at a park again even if it's behind the scenes. -
I'm not a fan of the LED accents, to me it looks like the rope lighting you'd buy at Ikea! I agree about the amber, but can't you just replace it with White or Clear?

Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread

I think you just have to balance it correctly. We live in a nice non-touristy area, but we can be in the 'touristy' area in 10 minutes and be at parks in 20 minutes. Robb has gone to the parks far more than I have. It's nice to have them as an option year round right down the street but not annoying me other times. -
I think Robb and I went one year on either New Years Day or some other random busy day during Christmas Break. We got there before opening, literally got in, did a full lap and rode every coaster and ride we wanted (some rerides as well) and then left about 2 hours after opening. As we left, the hoards were POURING in and as we were leaving the parking lot they were heading towards over flow. Moral of the story...get there early, go quickly and ride all the major rides, then do minor stuff and animal stuff. It will be VERY busy.

Mitch Hawker 2011 Wood Coaster Poll!
SharkTums replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think I actually added 5-10 new woodies this year (which is a lot for me!) so I'll have to sit down at some point and figure it all out. -
West Coast Bash 2012! TICKETS ON SALE NOW!
SharkTums replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Friday night before WCB at SFMM on Saturday a lot of people will stay at the Holiday Inn Express. If you've used and feel comfortable with priceline or orbitz, it's often pretty easy to get a better deal for the Valencia area through them. For Saturday and Sunday nights we'll have some sort of group rate at the Knott's Hotel. -
Sierra Mist is pretty much the most disgusting lemon lime soda out there. I seriously try so hard not to drink it. KT doesn't even like it and she would do anything for soda! I am seriously so excited about them all switching to Coke products. It will make it slightly easier for me to deal with their lack of straws and lids now!

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
SharkTums replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Let me jump in here as someone who doesn't really like either park very much! CP and SFMM are appealing to VERY different patrons. CP is doing a lot to entice families to stay on property for multiple nights every year or every other year. SFMM is building a big new thing to convince teenagers and young adults to come back every year or buy a cheap pass. It's not that one is right and one is wrong, they just both have very different business plans and futures right now. If you're a strict coaster enthusiast, then yes I see your frustration with CP versus SFMM, but if you're a park enthusiast or a business man you have to appreciate what CP is doing. -
^^There won't be any proof yet, but this is exactly what we've been talking about for way too many pages now. He's just chosen to now believe us. Big Potter in Jaws area, small expansion in IOA, train connecting them. Now can we go back to discussing...oh wait, this is pretty much the only thing to discuss at Universal Orlando for the next who knows how many years now!
