  1. ^I have had nightmares, and one of them included the wait for a Eurofighter at CP. Even if it had four trains, that's a max of 24 people every time all the trains cycle through. Seeing how it's at the front of the park, the end of the line would be somewhere around the middle of the parking lot if they built a Eurofighter there.
  2. Looking at an aerial shot of that area, there's not a whole ton that could go in there. However, if they tore out the Cedars Dorms, there would be a ton more room on the other side of the road (if they chose to go that way, which I would honestly doubt). After that, the Good Times Theater and Dodgems are on the other side of the Marina Gate, so it's really interesting to think what could go there. It's hard to believe that anything but a coaster would need that much land cleared, so we'll see. I've had a hunch for a while now that 2012 would be the year they get #18.
  3. ^I've been waiting on them to clear out the Turnpike Cars for a while now, they're pretty pointless.
  4. Krypton Coaster's loop is taller, and Dominator is ranked in the 70s in the world. Not quite.
  5. The way their ride crews move, that doesn't surprise me. Otherwise, I'm calling BS. I could walk from attraction to attraction and ride everything with hours to spare in the middle of the summer. That is, unless I start trying to ride all the kiddie rides, too. The food is atrocious and over-priced (but that comes to be expected at about 80% of parks these days), there are no indoor shows of note, and other than Drop Tower, there's really no excellent non-coaster ride (The Crypt, yes, but I don't enjoy Top Spins). El Dorado is a snore-fest, the flyers are some of the weakest I've ridden, their dark rides are both kiddie rides. Hell, DarKastle blows away about half the coasters at KD alone. Even Flight of Fear's outdoor cousin to the north is smoother and faster, and that's at the worst Six Flags park in the chain! The log flume and rapids rides I honestly have sparsely ridden at both parks, but most of those are pretty similar from park to park. I've said it several times before, and I'll say it again. I305 is the ONLY thing that KD has over BGW. I know that 305 made the KD fanboys' balls drop a little bit last year, but one world-class coaster doesn't mean the park is better than what's widely considered one of the top theme parks in the country (and please don't tell me Volcano or Dominator are world-class, they are good, but not THAT good). I've been going to both parks my entire life, I've seen them grow and develop, and that will always be my stance.
  6. ^And I get bored to tears after spending more than two hours there. There's a lot more to a park than roller coasterzzzzzz. KD literally has nothing that interests me besides the 4 or 5 semi-decent to great coasters there. I might do a flat ride or two to curtail the boredom on occasion, but seriously, I spent all of opening day there and wanted to leave by about 3 p.m. The only reason I stayed was to ride 305 at night. I'm not sure I've ever felt that way during a day at BGW.
  7. ^BGW is a complete park. KD is.........a few good coasters.
  8. So wait, they have fake fire AND mist at the bottom of the first drop. How does that even make sense?
  9. ^Not entirely sure what the hell Elementum is, but what's in a name? :coughcoughCheetahHuntcoughcough:
  10. I think this would officially freak me out. I guess the ride is still very intense then. It hasn't lost its edge at all, and there haven't been any signs of trims being re-added yet. This means that as I've maintained from the beginning, the trims were added because of the wheel problem and not because of the blacking out problem. The parks are going to protect their bottom line first and foremost, and buying wheels at an alarming rate wasn't helping their bottom line at all. Every time I've gone this year, they've had both trains running all day, whereas pre-trims last year, they were constantly taking a train off and running with only one. I would be moderately to very surprised if the drop ever gets trimmed again.
  11. ^She would probably rank it with I305, Expedition GeForce, Bizarro, etc.
  12. I was waiting with bated breath to hear a paragraph of description for each moment of airtime.
  13. ^Silver train still does it about every other cycle, and I think I might have heard it happen to the red train once or twice.
  14. One of them put a comment up somewhere on the BGT facebook page saying it was a lot of fun, but that's the only one I've seen.
  15. ^Last weekend, I was almost completely blacking out in the back of the silver train. I'm not sure why it was just the silver train, although it might have had something to do with the pretty heavy vibrations going on in the back of that train. It was to the point where I had tunnel vision and about 90% of my vision was blurred, and my entire body was tingling (very similar to when a body part falls asleep, but my entire body did that). It was freaky as hell, but I enjoyed it!
  16. What they both said. They aren't going to shut the ride down to clean puke off part of the ride that's in a lockout area. That would be even worse operations than "letting it sit there."
  17. How about everyone who complains about this ride before it opens should have a few pork chops tied to their belts and then be thrown into the Cheetah Run exhibit?
  18. ^He liked it so much that it made it into every picture!
  19. I'll be there next Friday. I really think the only ride I may ride other than Green Lantern is El Toro. For real. Perhaps a spin or two on Nitro if I feel like walking over there. Kingda Ka can bite me.
  20. I'm reserving judgment until I ride it 12 days from now. Imagine that. Quite a concept, I know. For the record, 60 mph really isn't that fast to begin with.
  21. Bingo. Kings Dominion sucked equally as bad on opening day last year because practically the entire offseason was spent digging out of snow and building 305. I would be willing to bet by next weekend, most of these problems will be worked out. I know on opening day 2008, they were still getting final state inspections on a lot of rides the last hour or so before the park opened, so it happens. I'm not sure I've ever encountered a truly "successful" opening day at ANY park.
  22. Thank goodness the car isn't hexagonal, then I would think it was ugly until a prominent member of the board disagreed with me, and then I would instantly change my mind!
