  1. ^You could easily get KD done in 2/3 of a day on a Monday. BGW would probably be packed on a weekend, but the crowd spreads out pretty well, and the ride crews move quickly more often than not. If you're looking for other stuff to do, there's historical stuff all around Richmond. Civil War and Revolutionary War battlefields are abound in this area. You can take the drive up to Washington if you want, it's about 100 miles north (just watch out for traffic). You could also go to Virginia Beach, which is pretty nice in the summer time.
  2. ^Dollywood track is already showing up. And parks usually just stage track wherever there is room to stage it. Maverick was kept a couple miles away in a field next to Breakers Express Hotel, and I-305 was kept in a gravel parking lot in front of KD (which is pretty far from the actual ride site). Absolutely an Intamin though. This is most excellent news, indeed!
  3. ^The heartline roll is sitting outside Adena's headquarters in Ohio. I'm sure it wouldn't take much to move it to Indiana.
  4. ^You're right, Sea Serpent would be a dumb name for it, which is why they named it Sand Serpent.
  5. ^Rhino Rally is still there, just without the water portion. It's basically just a "hey ma, look at dem der aminals!" ride now.
  6. I actually think it looks like a lot of fun! This might be one of the surprise hits on the NE Trip!
  7. ^I think it's a tongue-in-cheek overreaction from everyone, I know it was from me. They could easily fit a Zacspin there, and maybe make one that was the tallest in the world. However, there would be nowhere for the queue to go, and capacity would be a pretty large issue. They could always put, *gasp*, a dark ride there!
  8. ^Wow, I seriously thought that was just a rumor. That's insane!
  9. ^In the couple of years I spent there, maintenance was always hit or miss with TTD. There would be days it would run completely fine all day, and days when it would do what it did for you today. I know at least in 2008 they were having a lot of trouble with the catch car latching onto the trains properly, but it could have been anything if they were down on the launch track. There are so many moving parts, proxy censors, brakes, etc. that it's impossible to tell what the deal was.
  10. Skipping Hurlfest, not entirely impressed by the event or night time ERT on an indoor coaster. But the BGW event should be good!
  11. Sheikra has better positive g's on that turn after the Immelmann, Griffon has a bonus inversion and an airtime hill. They're basically deadlocked in my mind, although I know Sheikra seems to hold more favor on TPR.
  12. ^Hey, it happens. I change my mind on rides all the time.
  13. ^Even for a used, hurricane abused roller skater?
  14. ^A power outage is just about the worst thing that can happen to a coaster's computer system during operation. It's an automatic e-stop for the ride, and then when you switch it back on, it's going to be flipping out trying to catch back up. Especially with a ride like Cheetah Hunt that has so many proxy censors and moving parts, I imagine the computer room just about blew up.
  15. Jeez! Again?? This is the second time since 2008 that this has happened. Granted, in 2008, the anti-rollbacks failed and a car rolled back down the lift hill into the station, which is a little different than this incident. Just taer it down and put in a used roller skater there! (yes, I know Woodstock is a big roller skater)
  16. The best seat you could ever ride in on a B&M hyper is the back right seat on Nitro. Apollo's Chariot is incredibly overrated in my opinion, but that's just my opinion. Touche'. I've ridden in that seat and I respectfully disagree. But since you're a Gator, I still think you're cool.
  17. They can build the Euthanasia Coaster for the GP and a Mega-Lite for the enthusiasts!
  18. Someone agrees with me, finally! Seriously, I've ridden Nitro in the front, back, middle, everywhere. The airtime is very muted, nowhere near as extended as Apollo. The helix is definitely awesome, but seriously, there might only be one or two great airtime hills on Nitro. Riding in the back of Apollo has several "oh $hit!" moments, especially the first drop, drop off the brake run, and the final ravine drop. Every time I go back to SFGAd, I ride it again hoping it will get better, and it never does. Glad I'm not the only one who sees it that way.
  19. Any word on if Kat and Kiwi will be at the liquidation sale?
  20. Going to ride 305 tomorrow. It's too bad that it's at KD, but at least I can ride Grizzly, too.
  21. Sure! It's where Pee Wee's bike is!
  22. Each day's a holiday, every day is Saturday, drift with the breeeeeeze, fun never ends, Carowindsssssssss!!!!
