Yeah, I guess they could still put more on there, but it's already pretty high up there. Standing directly under it, it's definitely close. I know for a fact it's already taller than the Drop Tower at Carowinds, which is 150-160ish feet tall.

So I made a quick trip down to BGW this morning. Ended up being a complete failure because I only had a couple hours to spend, got off to a late start on the day due to unforeseen circumstances, and then was barely able to actually do anything at the park because of ridiculous crowds. However, I was able to get some pictures of what looks to be the topped off Mach Tower! Enjoy! Beautiful day! Woah! It's something new! Looking good coming into Oktoberfest. Woohoo! I was here two weeks ago and all that was there was the frame around the bottom and they were painting it. It's amazing how quickly drop towers can get put up! Some stuff going on behind the fence. Men at work, although these didn't come from the land down under. Lots of work has been done. Queue house is coming along nicely, too. With the new pretzel place next to it. I was bummed to find out it was closed today. American flag means it's topped off, right? Above the trees! Under Alpengeist! Never rode Griffon, line was INSANE. Ruh roh...... Weeeeeeee!!!! Griffon always provides great photo ops. Going down faster than Paris Hilton in night vision. Too bad ACE didn't have an event here today, two of them could have gone home with lovers! I see Mach Tower!

Definitely the most bizarre looking coaster I've ever seen.

All I know is, taking the commuter train into DC, then taking the Metro rail and bus to SFA was cheaper than the gas and $15 parking that I would have had to fork over. And it was TONS less stressful, as well. Not to mention the nice exercise I got walking everywhere. So I guess the parking prices are saving me money and stress in the long run!

Well I'm glad I got my first and only rides on it three months ago. I hate seeing good woodies shut down.

The website still says $10, so unless they haven't updated it yet......

I'm not sure about any other parks, but I know for a fact that Cedar Point makes a killing off their parking money, and they still only charge $10. And they have to give up a lot of free parking spaces to both Pass holders and employees.

I also rode SOB for the first and only time a few weeks after it reopened in 2007. Even rode it in the front row to try to alleviate the roughness, and that didn't help at all. It's still one of the worst rides I've ever had, with only Rattler and Texas Giant in 2009 topping it. Although I will say the first drop was pretty awesome, everything after that was miserable.

Anything over $10 to park is outrageous unless your parking lot is too small to fit your normal crowds. Then in that case, your park should be on the phone with the paving company to make it bigger. $20 and $17 to park is a travesty.

I have a hard time believing that a 6 second, 100 mph launch with OTSRs is better than a 4 second, 120 mph launch that also takes you higher and drops you further. But, as is the case with all "new" rides or ride experiences, a certain level of hyperbole is expected (see: NTG, Boomerang at Hershey).

You couldn't pay me to wear something that cheesy. And I'm the king of cheese.

^^An outside company owned and operated DBH, and Boomers' website doesn't mention anything being closed (although that hardly means anything given how crappy that place is, could easily mean nobody updates the site).

Thread title is a little misleading, this doesn't necessarily mean the DBH will be torn down.

I was there that day. Waited 20 minutes in Johnny Rockets to get my food. They didn't have any equipment turned on and had no burgers cooking an hour after the park opened. Other people waited as long as 30 minutes because they also didn't have the fryers on and no fries were ready. The milkshake was the only good part of that ordeal. Other than that, it was a typical crappy day at the park. At least the 3rd hill on Superman is almost worth the effort to get to the park.

Am I the only one that realizes that it's still not launching at full speed yet?

^^Outrageous hyperbole about this ride aside, I don't think it'll have enough juice to get to #1 in its first year.

So is Blue Streak still going to be running this year? I only ask because I'm taking a trip up that way in June and would love to stop by if it is.

Definitely looking forward to riding this one. Looks like some pretty good airtime for a family coaster, and Timberliners to boot!
