  1. Zierer. Well that's interesting. ^Yeah, the only launched coaster of theirs I found was Wicked, and that ride actually looks pretty good based on the illegal POV on youtube.
  2. Honestly, I think the visual scan might kill capacity more than anything.
  3. Rollback breaks. Think about Intamin hydraulic launch coasters, same concept.
  4. I don't think I've ever waited over 2.5 hours. I know I rode Tower of Terror the week it opened and we might have waited around 3 hours, but I just don't remember since I was a kid. The rides I've waited 2.5 hours for are Volcano during its opening week and Maverick on its opening day. I went to CP in July 2003 and waited about an hour in line for TTD, the line moved maybe 20 feet as it went through numerous rollbacks and breakdowns, so we just left the line. I had a friend go up and ride it a few weeks later, he waited 6 hours.
  5. Here. Can't get enough of the cell phone quality reports from this park!
  6. That's no moon. That's a space station. I don't care if it's from Nerd Wars, this is way funnier.
  7. ^I haven't seen or looked for the video, so I have no idea. I've ridden Chang and know what it looks like when it's running, so it doesn't really interest me that much.
  8. ^Probably. Shockwave basically turned me into a 6'5" pinata last year. I'll never ride it again.
  9. I would be highly willing to bet it looks something like this, just with different colors, a different setting, and no human riders. Either that or you can join facebook (or log on) and like SFGAd's fan page to view the video yourself.
  10. ^Considering none of them have reached the testing phase, I would guess it's all construction related, which has been delayed by the weather. If I'm not mistaken, paperwork and red tape were the culprits for the delay at KBF. I have no idea about the one at CW. People need to realize that construction delays happen. It's nothing unusual in any other construction project. Besides, a week or two won't kill anyone.
  11. ^No, those videos were not full speed. ^^The extra "supports" are for the banners.
  12. The insane (and unusual) amount of rain that Ohio has gotten in the last month or so is to blame for the delay. And that's the long and the short of it.
  13. Just got back from the park. Treated myself to 35 laps on 305 today, didn't do anything else. The last two rides were in freezing cold rain, and I gotta say, while it hurt, it was magnificent!
  14. Six Flags has a new motto. "If it's being done right here or anywhere else, it's probably not being done by Six Flags!"
  15. There's a lot more to a park than theming and/or roller coasters. BG has 305 over KD, and that's where it stops.
  16. ^You're insane if you think KD is a better park than BG.
  17. So are they still having the Passholder Preview Days in 2 weeks?
  18. ^I definitely think Mean Streak could benefit enormously from the Rocky Mountain makeover. It's got more height and length to work with than Texas Giant even had, and CP has the money to spend on it. Will it ever happen? I have serious doubts, but one can always hope. I'd still rather they build something new rather than refurb an existing ride, but that's just a difference in philosophy.
  19. ^Yeah, I think I just got fooled by the American flag. Yesterday was a bit of a long day, I think my brain cells were used up for the day by about 2:00.
  20. Manta and Kraken are my top coasters in the flyer and floorless categories for good reason. You can't really judge B&M flyers on the Superman clones, just ride Tatsu and/or Manta and you'll see just how good they can be. Manta in the back row is so damn good. If Kraken's ending was a little better, it would probably be my favorite B&M.
  21. Ok that thing looks in-freaking-credible. That's what she said.
  22. I like the color blue, I'm with you that it looks fine. Definitely fits the "Oktoberfest" color scheme, so I don't see what the problem is. The Gawdawful color schemes of the Drop Towers at the former Paramount properties are FAR uglier.
