  1. I wonder if they've finished lowering the Sky Ride yet, because there's an awfully small amount of clearance there.
  2. Did I happen to run into you the day I came by RipCord last year? It was in August, I was the former TL that visited and flew, if you remember at all.
  3. ^Yeah, I'll be there in the early part of the morning. I'll probably be gone by 12 or 1, we're throwing a going away party for my brother that evening so I can't stay too long.
  4. Agreed, but Sky Rocket was still a VERY good coaster.
  5. ^My all time favorite is the classic "it goes faster in the back" line.
  6. ^Park maps have never exactly been the most detailed depictions of rides. Most of the GP don't even notice, and are lucky if they even know the names of the rides.
  7. ^Yeah, watch UF end up being Mean Streak's team.
  8. ^I'm guessing the airtime in the back seat will still be good coming off the figure 8.
  9. ^Magnum a 2-seed behind Raptor?!?! Blasphemy!!!!! However, this is a very cool idea. Should be fun to follow!
  10. ^The coaster that it used to be??? I know someone that rode SOB the day of the commercial shoot (when it was brand new), and he said it was BRUTAL even then! And the layout is awful! There's absolutely no redeeming quality to this ride except the money they can get for selling the wood.
  11. ^Ah, so I had it backwards. Well, as long as the majority of the track is still wood I would still consider it to be a wooden coaster.
  12. From what I understand, the topper track is still a couple layers of wood on top of an I-beam. So it's still a wooden-tracked coaster.
  13. There are plenty of wooden coasters held up by steel or vice versa. Gemini isn't a wooden coaster, Voyage isn't a steel coaster. New Texas Giant is a steel coaster. While it might have a woodie-ish layout and be held up by wood, it's still a steel coaster. I can't believe this is still an issue.
  14. So how uncomfortable is it when the wheels run over the bolts?
  15. ^^You aren't going to have any luck linking to that site from here.
  16. Just doing a comparison of the original POV from last year and this video, the train is taking 12-13 seconds from the apex of the first hill to the apex of the 2nd hill in both videos. So basically, it's not slowing down at all with the new layout, meaning they hope the incline in the 1st turn will make the difference in the issues they've been having. Should be interesting to see if those trims stay off the first drop.
  17. See if this works. http://www.facebook.com/#!/video/video.php?v=592327106594
  18. Yep, back to hauling wholesale ass over the 2nd hill.
  19. Perhaps, but it was closer to giving me that classic motion sickness feel. Robb does it with an HD camera and duct tape, can these parks not afford those items?
  20. The poll probably hadn't updated yet. And once again, it doesn't matter. Sheesh.
  21. ^Because more people voted repeated times.
  22. Who do you have to kill to get a mounted camera around here?
  23. That's kinda funny, cause Intimidator was affectionately called "Big Red" by a lot of employees at Carowinds last year.
