  1. Great White is one of the best running, but SFOG's takes the cake with the themeing elements, cool red lights and mist from the floor ..
  2. SFOT's .. still using steam SDC's is great too and so is DLR's
  3. Track mods were done by Premier and the new train mods are being done by Larson International (since 2003 when it was relocated). Last time Zonga ran at SFAW was 2001, when it opened for 4 hours with the new retro-fitted trains by Wieland Schwarzkopf .. sat idle ever since. There was also another mod that reduced the train capacity from 5 to 4 after the slip on the lift hill, anti-rollbacks were installed.
  4. Whoa ... can't seem to tell if they'll have the same thing going as DCA and MGM with the opening doors before the falls .. amazing fast construction however.
  5. Seen it run 4 in 98 at Astroworld, but then broke down and has eluded me ever since .. even March 13th .. damn Zonga .. coaster I'm destined never to ride since SFMW was such a horrible experience.
  6. Six Flags Marine World March 13th this year .. horrible!
  7. Well most of that expansion happened. The large parking structure, the redesigned West Rd. into Disneyland Rd. .. they got Downtown Disney out of it and California Adventure, plus they still own that land on the other side of Katella and Harbor Blvd. where the rumored 3rd park will be built at some point ... and the timon lot is DCA expansion room.

  9. Shamu Express at SeaWorld Texas as well
  10. 3d Studio Max, I believe it was done by the Badnitrus guys, they started their own company to expand their talents.
  11. Wouldn't the last suspended coaster be 2002 or 2003 with Roller Soaker at Hersheypark .. it is suspended, but interactive as well.
  12. I thought GhostRider was running pretty damn well at Solace .. but it sucked in August 2004 .. However, The Rattler is one for nuetered .. that ride was completly nuts before they chopped it all up and replaced the trains. Others: Gwazi Colossus Montu Beast Revolution and more I can't think of right now
  13. Don't recall seeing the Frog Hopper anywhere, but think I vaguely remember it in the kiddie area ... It was a kiddie drop tower from Moser .. very odd, maybe it was leased from the same company they got the new rides from.
  14. Yeah, you don't need a gift shop at the exit .. and the queue and be wrapped around the station or placed in one of the many backstage areas in Marvel. INTAMIN would be nice, smaller track and they have some crazy designs and those can be wedged through just about anything ... intertwine with with Hulk even .. that would be fun.
  15. Well so much for going next weekend .. have to put it off til it reopens.
  16. Several parks have drop towers and kiddie drop towers .. but a park that small doesn't make sense .. they could be relocating it however ... but who knows, seems like a wasted investment.
  17. Got to ride the new logs on Saturday, man they suck ass .. my GF even commented on how much these things suck .. not to mention they keep getting jammed and shutting the ride down.
  18. Haven't eaten since we returned from SoCal .. so my last meal was In-N-Out .. Double Double and Animal Style fries .. I already miss In-N-Out
  19. wow .. how retarded is that ... you'd think being in Florida for 30+ years they would know how much it rains there.
  20. wow .. I need to get back to EPCOT .. looks alot better than DCA's, although I like the historical photos in the queue at DCA's .. just not the outdoor part.
  21. Big Thunder at Disneyland ... horribly bumpy and rough
  22. It's possible to spend a full day at all parks, even split time between sfft and sea world. But sea world gets very very crowded, mostly families for the shows, so rides never have outstanding lines. Most I've ever waited with full parking lot was 15mins for Steel Eel. SFFT can and does get packed very quickly, as does Astroworld. SFFT and SeaWorld are about 20min drive from each other .. SFFT is 4 hours from both SFOT and SFAW and about 30-45mins from Schillterbahn, depending on traffic and construction. Same goes for getting between the 3 major six flags parks. There's major construction on I-10 outside houston in Katy, Major construction on I-35 between SFOT and SFFT and sometimes bottlenecks on I-45 between SFAW and SFOT in Conroe and the Woodlands. It's pretty easy in 5 days tho.
  23. There WAS a record breaking one at SFKK, but Riddler's Revenge kind of beat it out .. although I prefer Chang over Mantis any day.
  24. DCA Indiana Beach SFAW DCA was a standout in my mind. Indiana Beach is a wonderful place and SFAW is certainly alot better in the last few years with employees and ride maintenance.
  25. Well let's see and just go from here ... Day 1: - Left DFW around 11:15, we were supposed to leave at 10:35, but the plane's battery was dead coming from the hangar. Arrived at Orange County 10mins before our scheduled arrival time .. good tail winds I guess. Picked up my bags and rental car and headed for In-N-Out .. god I love that place. Met up with David at Orange County after he got in and headed back to In-N-Out since he was hungry. Checked into the Radisson and got our VIP passes, chatted with some friends from Texas and other places. - We headed into Knott's around 5:50ish and went straight for Xcelerator. Great ride as always, love that back seat. My only beef was the one train operation, although there weren't many people there for ERT. After Xcelerator rides, we did Supreme Scream and successfully broke the tower. We lifted up for our ride and the brakes slipped and didn't engage so we had an uneventful freefall back. After re-checking the restraints they let us go again, only to have the brakes slip again. They closed that tower and opened another, but they had to go through sign-offs and safety checks first. So we headed to Monte and rode that. After that hit GhostRider, man was this thing great. Running much better than last August and I had some of my best rides on it since it opened. - After GhostRider rides, headed for the VIP dinner under Silver Bullet. Heard from Jack, which is his last Solace before leaving for Sandusky at some point and the guy from S&S Power (forgot name). After dinner, which was nice btw, got rides on Silver Bullet. I was very impressed with this ride. Very nice ride, not the bext invert, but still smooth and alot of fun. Retired for the night after midnight. Day 2: - Woke up around 6:45am, headed into the park around 7:15ish and went for Jaguar!. I love this coaster, one of my favs in the world as well. Also hit Boomerang (mistake) and it kinda of strained my neck .. not good. After that we took some Xcelerator rides and a spin on Timberline Twister. Saw Robb and Elissa there, but was kind of pre-occupied on the phone. After Timberline, got a few more Xcelerator rides and then started heading into the park when it opened at 10am. Rode Calico Mine Ride, which was my first ride ever on it, I like the ride. Loked at Screamin' Swing, but it did not open until 11am. Did Mystery Lodge and Riptide (water was off thank goodness) and poked around more with photos and such. - Did the group photo thing, then we left the park before lunch and hit Adventure City. I've driven past several times, but never got the chance to go to the park. With the discount, we got in for $6 and added two more credits to my count. Headed back to Knott's for lunch ... mmm bosenberry pie and chicken. After lunch headed back into the park for Screamin' Swing and ride on the Railroad. After that went back to the hotel for some R'n'R and headed back in around 9:45 for nighttime ERT. GhostRider again was running great and so was Silver Bullet. Left the park around midnight and went back to the hotel, met up with a few people and watched some rough cuts for their new video, great times and great footage. Day 3: - Left Buena Park at 2am for Sherman Oaks to pick up a friend, got stuck in traffic on the 101 and left the LA Area right around 3:15am. Made it to Vallejo at 8:30 and milled around a bit before parking. Marine World opened at 10am, and Zonga was closed (BASTARDS!) and headed for V2. This is very interesting ride, rode maybe 7th row back for the hangtime in the twist. After that rode Roar, which sucked .. I don't think they've done any track work to this since 1999. Oh and they were running 1 train, which became the norm for the day. Marine World was nice when I went in 2000, now it's worse than Frontier City or Astroworld of 2000 and 2001. The animals looked like they were poorly taken care of, Medusa looked like it was going to valley in every inversion, Kong is well an SLC which sucks. I called this park SeaGhetto World .. it was horrible. The flats didn't even look up to speed. Saw the Shouka show, boring and then left the parks around 1:30. Checked into the hotel and slept before leaving for the concert in Santa Cruz. Day 4: - Left Vallejo at 7am, got stuck in some traffic but made it back to Sherman Oaks around 1pm and dropped off my friend. Headed back to Orange County and made it there around 2:45 for my flight. Came home and slept .. Thanks to Knott's Berry Farm for a great event, already making plans for next year's event.
