Coolest station you've seen

Goliath at SFOG, it just looks awesome. [/img] -
lol. ^ Exactly. The thing I love the most about stories such as this is the underlying hypocrisy of people. Let's just say, for instance, that there were small undetectable and/or unnoticed stress fractures that had slowly been developing at the base of one or more supports of the final drop over the Rhine. Then, on the busiest park day of the summer, disaster strikes as two supports simultaneously collapse under the pressure of the swinging train. The train plunges into the Rhine, and 28 are trapped by their restraints, and subsequently drown. Immediately, we have a 50 page thread about how Busch/InBev were negligent fools who should've closed this coaster years ago. I love America. You know, on my first ride and almost every ride after I have the thought in the back of my head that this 25 year old ride has to give out to stress at some point. That drop over the river seems like something that would be insanely stressful to the coaster. Oh yea and the drowning thing scares me too.

I'm really interested to see the start off of the wipeout slide lol. Great TR!

I love the Dive Machine trains so much, so comfortable and they ride so smooth. My least favorite is probably, wait for it...... Maverick, that ride should just have lapbars because with the high speed turns and postive g's it presses the harness down onto your legs and it can be quite painful while sitting on the brake run. Espessically if the ride breaks down.

Well, it's probably incredibly difficult to get parts for and keep in repair because arrow doesn't exist anymore and there are only a handful of their suspended's around. It's probably a huge toll on the park to keep it running after 25 years. Remember 25 years for an arrow is alot. The ride type itself takes alot more stress than other types. 25 years is a good lifespan for this type and I think it's time is just about up.

The Restraint Discussion Thread

Most of them are floorless so OSTR's are the best way to go, plus the massive airtime, trust me your body is being pushed down by the OSTR's lol. If your talking about the 1st gen intamins..... well those were simpler times and the OSTR's show it. -
I'm really upset by this news. I just got my first rides on it in the beginning of July. It gave so much more than I expected. Such a great use of the terrain. This ride is the only one i've ridden that has turns that make the trains really swing out. The theming is great aswell. I'm so upset to see it go.

LOL That's the only thing the enthusiasts complain about is the lockers and yet the OP didn't write it in lol. -

Yeah I agree. Not to mention that I went to SFGAdv in June of 2008 (went to the park 3 days in total) and had ZERO problems with line jumpers and didn't see a single one the whole time. There were TONS of school groups there too, mind you. Line jumping rarely happens there, and on rides like S:UF, GASM, B:TR it's very difficult to do. -

SFGAdv is my home park and I can do it on the busiest days with no flash passes. The park is an awesome place, but if you choose to be stupid, it's gonna be crappy, deal with it. Food Prices extend out of the amusement parks, you can find them in sporting stadiums, show venues and places that see alot of people. Gates : THEY WARN YOU OVER THE PA SYSTEM THAT THE GATES ARE NOW CLOSING WITH THE FOLLOWING SPEIL "THE GATES ARE NOW CLOSING, THE GATES ARE NOW CLOSING." Your son should have been paying attention. Flash Pass : Pay for it or deal with the lines. Line cutting : Deal with it or do something about it, like call them out, more likely than not other people feel the same way you do and will join in and the person won't cut. I've done it before and it works all the time, if you don't do something deal with it. Eating : If you don't like the ground go get a re entry stamp and eat at your car. ALL PARKS WILL HAVE RIDES CLOSED, DEAL WITH IT. Upcharge Attractions : Don't like it? Don't ride it. Rant Over. I just hate when people bash an awesome park because of their own stupidity. -

First time at Great Adventure!

^^ YES, NEVER BELIEVE THE WAIT TIME SIGNS. Even the height checker at the enterance of Bizzaro was yelling at everyone the actual wait time and not to pay attention to the signs. -

Peak times, you never really wait over an hour except for Bizzaro, so hit that first. then just loop around the park by means of, El Toro, Ka, GASM, S:UF, T:DK, B:TR, Nitro. ( Nitro, if running 3 trains will not be a problem, wait wise. ) Thats how I do the park and it always seems to work. No flashpasses for me lol. -

Retro_Gaga replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Quite possible and something I have been saying since this "bigger" track showed up. I think that we will see a different kind of Intamin train ... 4 across I dunno but it will be something new IMHO Who knows, maybe they changed it up. -
The franchise needs to do what it does best and kill itself off.
-
It was simply an impossible secnario that was intended to make the GP think they will die on every roller coaster they ride. It worked, almost everytime at a park I hear someone in line bring this movie up. I hate it.

What is it about Kingda Ka?
Retro_Gaga replied to DJSonic's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yea, they're tearing it down because it over launched and the train derailed while going up and flew several thousand feet into the air before landing several miles away killing everyone on board. That was heard from someone who was dead serious at the park on the 17th. Gah I dislike the GP for being so incredibly stupid. -
How is a B&M Flyer evacuated on it's lift. What are the steps to the process and what happens?

I actually need to apologize I didn't see the spelling and I thought you were just being sarcastic. My bad.
