  1. Holy crap, so they do actually have some sense of reason hidden deep beneath those kiddie coasters.
  2. Moving away from the Seaworld discussion, has anybody else noticed the extreme difference between Disneyland and California Adventure attendance? The parks are 50 yards away from each other and yet DCA has HALF of the attendance of Disneyland. That doesn't make sense to me. Both parks have had similar crowds every time I've visited. I'm not a statistic genius by any stretch of the imagination, but is it possible they're lumping the one-day passes to Disneyland with the Park Hoppers and just counting one-day passes to DCA separately?
  3. I wonder what their construction timeline is for this. It's more than just the coaster, it's a whole complex being built from scratch. 2016?
  4. ^ Did you really double post while adding a space between lines? As for your disbelief at a large tunnel through a lake, I present Exhibit A - Exhibit B - Et cetera.
  5. Not to steal your thunder, but I scrolled right past the video without realizing I missed it until I read other comments. An embed is very easy, it's atop the message window. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] Ta daaaa!
  6. Looks purty. I like the massive structure style. Sure, Goliath at SFGAm looks cool, but nothing beats a good ol' hulking beast of a wooden coaster structure.
  7. Edit - To clarify, Universal Hollywood in 2012 brought in 5.91 million guests. Magic Mountain brought in, what, 2.5 million or so? I haven't seen the 2013 numbers but I'm fairly certain they're similar.
  8. Or any road construction. Seriously. Those pricks just close miles of lanes of traffic for months just so they can park one piece of equipment somewhere along that stretch and post one guy in a safety vest smoking a cigarette standing next to it. Road work blows. As for the new delay, well, that blows, too. Still can't be upset about it, though. Things go wrong, problems arise, but it is what it is. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, there's plenty of other cool stuff in Great America and Chicago to keep people occupied.
  9. Shockingly, there hasn't been any. What's funny about this is you know damn well if this was an Intamin ride people would be FREAKING THE F**K OUT and creating all sorts of drama. Just proves, once again, that all that crap is made up by anti-Intamin haters. Damn Intamin. When are they gonna build a decent ride? I-305 is a kiddie coaster, man! /s
  10. Maceraperest Juvelen Divertical Skyrush Formula Rossa Th13teen Mine Train Coaster Mega Lite Fly Over Mediterranean Jet Rescue Piraten T Express Kawasemi Mich Doohan's Motocoaster El Toro Those are all lap bar only. All of their loopers are OTSR (duh) but only a select few non-inverting coasters have OTSRs.
  11. I'll be sure to pop back into this thread later today to see all of the hilariously over-dramatic angry posts from fanboys. I think it's great they're not rushing. It's a bummer, for sure, but they're doing what they need to in order to make sure the ride is safe and working properly rather than rushing it.
  12. ^ Again, whooooooosh, there goes the joke. Dude made a typo, other dude made a joke about said typo, you didn't get the joke. Hey look! Back on topic! c0sterfreek, You might see some crowds but I wouldn't worry. Transformers, Jurassic Park, and Mummy have single rider lines so you'll be able to marathon those bad boys. Despicable Me should be your first thing since it'll get slammed. Simpsons will probably get a decent line, too. Also get to Waterworld early unless you want to be forced into the splash zone. As for the studio tour, the line looks huge but those trams are people eaters so you'd be fine going whenever, though I'd recommend 1-ish since people will be grabbing lunch.
  13. No, they'll at least use a different wooden coaster. Probably Rolling Thunder. In English, please? I'm dumb but I'm not that dumb.
  14. Oh crap, didn't even know this was supposed to open by now, haha! Glad to hear it's a fun ride. Shooters have never really been a favorite of mine but they serve their purpose and are definitely fun enough for a ride or two.
  15. Sorry, all in good fun. It was just too good to pass up, haha.
  16. Ugh, that reprofile is disappointing. Good ol' American pansy safety standards. At least Caneva Aquapark is just a 10 hour plane ride away!
  17. ^ Really the only other credit in the area is going to be the Giant Dipper at Belmont Park, about a 5 minute drive from SeaWorld's parking lot. It's a super old wooden coaster that's survived a few destruction attempts. I believe it's $6 to take a ride and it's AWESOME! I've ridden in the front and the back and couldn't tell you which seat is better. I mean, it's a classic woodie. You don't ride it to be blown away like a modern RMC. http://www.belmontpark.com/ The past times I've been SW we were able to ride Manta as many times as we cared to. The line was a two-train wait throughout the day. However we weren't exactly visiting on crowded days. If you're going to the park for the rides you're missing the point anyway. The shows and exhibits are where all the fun is with this place. Manta and Journey To Atlantis are nice diversions, but if you spend your whole day riding them and miss half of the exhibits or ANY shows you'll have really missed out. Seriously. See every show. Downtown San Diego is a nice place. Head to the Gaslamp Quarter if you're into the bar hopping scene. It's a nice place even if you're not into drinking, too, really. We wandered aimlessly and found more than enough ways to entertain ourselves for a few hours before we bothered booking a hotel room last December. If it's during the day I HIGHLY recommend wandering Balboa Park. Since you mentioned no wildlife, skip the zoo (but you really should spend a day there) and just check out the architecture and The Old Globe Theatre (go back a few pages for my last TR for some photos). La Jolla Cove, if you're willing to make the 10-15 minute jaunt up there, is a nice area with a ton of wild sea lions hanging out on the rocks and swimming around. There's also the Olympic Training Center down in Chula Vista if that interests you.
  18. Funny thing about the world, it doesn't revolve around your plans. It'll be ready when it's ready and if they can't make May 29th, they can't. There's no blame game to do if that happens. Crap happens, yet somehow life goes on. Besides, it's not like there isn't a ton of other stuff to do at Great America and the surrounding area.
