  1. Guys... 360 degrees...two different ways... Hmm...Let's be realistic shall we?
  2. To be honest, I can't think of anywhere that is strictly Goofy-related, safe for maybe the candy shop in Downtown Disney, but it would be my guess that if you contacted Disney's customer service they would do something really amazing for you. They seem to be great at making special occasions memorable, from what I have heard about birthdays and whatnot, and they usually don't require you to pay for a package or anything. Here's an official page if it helps: disneyweddings.disney.go.com/engagements/walt-disney-world/detail
  3. THEY'RE OWNED BY THE SAME COMPANY THEY DON'T COMPETE ANY MORE.
  4. Seriously though, if people's opinions just happen to be to restate whatever Robb says, I see no problem with it; it's their opinion. I was drawn to TPR because of the personalities here, strong as they may be. Without them, many of the best parts of the site (ie. drunk Piers vids, Bag-O-Crap contests) would simply not exist. It's this binding aspect of our special community that fosters the relatively mild atmosphere here. The people who do not like the cult of personalities (for it is plural, composed of many more posters than just Robb and Elissa) are the ones who angrily denounce the site. We have all seen them come and go. I do not intend to say that the original poster was one of these people, rather just note a trend that I have seen over the years. Bottom line, I like the personality of the site and its posters. That's why I stay. P.S. "Cult of personality" is not necessarily a derogative in the common sense of the word. Please take it literally.
  5. ^YES MOE'S The Chipotle/Moe's debate is like an East-side/West-side kind of rivalry, everyone seems to be a diehard fan of one or the other.
  6. Not questioning your opinion, but what made the Hurricane so good? I can't get a good read from the pictures and video available and was just curious about it.
  7. Pleasant: Ravine Flyer II (Waldameer)-I knew it had gotten rather good press since its opening, but when I finally got to Waldameer for the first time this summer it kicked my butt (in a good way). Granted, I did ride it in the back before I rode it in the front-holy bejeezus the front is bonkers-but it ended up in my top 10 woodies super easy. Phantom's Revenge (Kennywood)-Here's the weird thing: I had ridden it twice years ago and remembered it as hardly memorable, but when I got on this summer it blew me away, especially the incredible finale. If only it were a bit longer... Dinosaur (Animal Kingdom)-Another bonkers ride, and it gives me the same thrill each time I ride it. Everything from the classic cheesiness of the original McD's sponsorship to the toaster time machine to DAT CARNOSAURUS ROARR is just awesome fun. Unpleasant: Indiana Jones (Disneyland)-Considering how much I love Dinosaur, I was ready for this to blow me away. I had seen the concept art and everything and thought-Hey, maybe its like Dinosaur but with a real plot! Alas, although the second trip to California did prove better, the intensity just isn't there at all. I keep waiting for an effect to knock my socks off, but it ends well before that. Oh well. Verbolten (BGW)-I wanted to like it. The queue was great, the drop effect was neat, but the overall experience was just...meh. Granted, it is a great addition and a great family ride to balance the thrills at BGW, but it just didn't even really seem unique enough for me. Maybe I just remember BBW (yeah yeah, I'll drop it). Behemoth (Canada's Wonderland)-The first drop is stupid steep and fantastic. And then the new-style trains just killed it for me. B&M hypers have thrilled me before, but Behemoth's floater air was hardly noticeable. I suppose if big drops and speed is your thing it's all right, but I'd take Milli in that category any day.
  8. Jupiter, Kijima Kogen http://rcdb.com/1254.htm?p=15080
  9. Jet Star- Särkänniemi Amusement Park http://rcdb.com/1078.htm?p=26482 Double hint...
  10. Schwarzkopf designed coasters for Zierier; it says so right on RCDB's page, dude. I'm bummed about this, but it does not surprise me. Went there a few years back on my trip to England; Knightmare was fantastic, considering it was my first ride on that kind of Schwarzkopf. The jousting show was a great touch, really original.
  11. Arbitrary pretty view comment!
  12. ^How did you manage to pull off the loop so well? Is it like a part sit-down/part invert hack?
  13. ^You sir, are good. I think this thread would be more fun if we posted more obscure coasters that CAN'T be found online instead of tiny little croppings. Your turn.
  14. Funny Mouse, Luna Park Idroscala. www.rcdb.com/9313.htm?p=0 EDIT: New Pic:
  15. Well the face palm still stands, it's just not Hopi Hari's fault anymore.
  16. Did anyone else face palm when they saw Speedy Gonzalez on an Italian pizza stand? Considering they SPEAK A LATIN LANGUAGE there, I would have assumed they understood it wasn't Italian
  17. Slight departure from the Mach Tower: I will be visiting the park on a Sunday in early August, probs from like 2 'till close. Will the crowds be bad enough to make the fast pass worth it? How about the Verbolten option? We will probably end up shelling out for the basic one but unless it is going to be mobbed I don't see the reason to pay $10 more for Verbolten if the wait won't be too bad. Thanks!
  18. I think they have been referring to the second Stengel Dive:
  19. It seems large...really large...And 81 mph is realllllllyyyy unlikely..... I like the idea though, just needs a little bit of realness, that's all.
  20. It's like pre-renovation Contemporary Hotel, only on purpose
  21. Finally got some time to build again. It's not alot and heavily unfinished/unlandscaped. but I'm proud:
  22. Got a chance to stop by Kennywood today on the way to Carnegie Mellon. I've been to the park before, but I was able to rack on my first rides on Sky Rocket and Black Widow. Operations were terrible for the entire day, probably the 90+ degree heat. Even then, it ruined quite a bit of the experience. Sky Rocket: Actually, awesome operations here, trains quickly dispatching. The ride was just fun, a blast all around. It looked smooth, it was smooth. The in-lines were wonderful and air timey, it felt exactly like I thought it would. A perfect fit for the park. Black Widow: Oh. My. God. The operations. Were. TERRIBLE. Took 40 minutes to get through a tiny queue, and about 20 people from the front, it all went to the pooper. The ride started, moved meagerly back and forth a few times, then stopped and settled. The ops removed all the riders, tested the restraints (why? It wasn't the problem), and then put the riders back on. Next time, same thing happened. So the test the restraints again. Finally, third time, it works and gives the riders a full cycle. At this point, over an hour has passed. I get on, the ride starts, swings to about half height, and stops again. We get off, they test the RESTRAINTS AGAIN. They just seemed so clueless. Finally, I get on again, and the ride performs a full cycle. An hour and a half has passed. Luckily, the ride was frickin' awesome all around, it was swinging easily 150 degrees-ish. Phantom's Revenge: This ride surprised me since I've last been on. SO much airtime, really was a blast. Overall, a great day at the park. Ops were bad, but it was reaaaalllllyyyy hot. Modest crowds made for relatively light waits otherwise. Hopefully the good folks at Kennywood will figure Black Widow out, because it was an absolute riot. P.S. What park do you think has the most collective airtime? I think Kennywood might be in the running...
