  1. ^Dude, please, I beg of you. You have mentioned that Darien Lake should put in a Gerstlauer 380/4 spinning coaster 17 times in this thread in less than a month. I know because I counted. It was bugging me that much. The people who comment in this thread are generally fans of Darien Lake just like you, but I think we all understand that a) Darien Lake management is not trolling enthusiast sites to decide what new attraction they will put in and b) that we understand that you think it would be cool if they put this coaster in the Galaxy Theater. I'm not trying to be mean spirited, even though this may come off rude, it is just that the hints we have been dropping through this thread do not seem to be getting the message across. I personally would like to discuss Darien Lake further than blind speculation about what they could potentially put in if they were to add a roller coaster, I just think that unless they start teasing something there is absolutely no reason to begin thinking that it's "time" for a new ride or that a certain ride would "fit well" in the park. All anger aside, you are clearly the most dedicated fan to stay by Darien Lake's side I have ever seen.
  2. They'll quarantine it as the Devil's workshop and burn it to the ground ceremoniously.
  3. Guys, he was trolling...They're all trolling...
  4. Looks like some pretty awesome headchoppers! Definitely the kind of quirky concept that S&S would do.
  5. Thanks for sharing! Always nice to see Darien Lake getting some love, I can't stress enough to those who haven't been there in recent years how the little things that Herschel has been doing are working wonders.
  6. Source: Rochester Business Journal http://www.rbj.net/article.asp?aID=194602 Good to hear the park is really looking to improve and listening to the public.
  7. Please tell me you're joking.
  8. The three best, in relative order for me: 3. First drop on X2. Haters gonna hate, but having the seats rotate for the first time to leave you face first towards the ground was bats#%t crazy. 2. Maverick's Stengel DIve. Really great placement at the end of the ride, definitely made the ride a top 10 for me with that one element alone. 1. Hypersonic XLC's launch. Yeah, 0-81 mph in 1.8 seconds is impressive, but look how little track it does it in.
  9. That's pretty significant, considering Family Fun is owned by Disney.
  10. It's Bushwacker, at Ratanga Junction in Cape Town, South Africa. rcdb.com/1167.htm?p=33333 This one's pretty easysauce, but I'm in a rush and I've been on this one, anyways.
  11. ^I read in an interview with B&M somewhere that the flat spin is more like a banked turn that switches to a banked turn in the opposite direction. I'd assume a traditional corkscrew is very symmetrical and geometric, rolling at a constant degree the entire way, considering how Arrow's early designs were hand drafted, but that's just an inference. Looking at this picture, I can kind of see it, but there is also the chance it was just a "lost in translation" moment with B&M, that happens sometimes as well.
  12. I love how they had the tunnel dive break through the shed-overhang at the bottom of the first drop. Very cool.
  13. I don't think this deserves to get buried so quickly. Your insights are spot-on, I don't even have many comments rather than that I really enjoyed this.
  14. Mindbender in Edmonton on Saturday. Yeaaaahhhhh buddy
  15. Really love the park, but IMO this storyline might be in poor taste...
  16. The second hill on Speed at Oakwood is pretty OMFG awesome.
  17. Very nice! It reminds me strangely of Great Russian Mountain, the Schwarzkopf(ish) at Wonder Island in Russia. Same funky start and then long out-and-back course with helices at either end. rcdb.com/2867.htm I don't know if you had thought about it.
  18. Good one! The now-defunct Bush Beast- Wonderland Sydney. http://rcdb.com/1123.htm?p=4872 Next!
