^ I've had really inconsistent service at Applebees. Sometimes it's awesome, and sometimes it's terrible. We ate at an Applebees twice during our trip to Cedar Point in May. First day we had an awesome server, great service, great food. Very next day we had a really apathetic waitress who seemed to not care we were there, treated us like crap, and messed up all our orders. Though it was funny watching her sing happy birthday to me alone. Considering how apathetic she was it looked like she wanted to shoot herself while singing. Most awkward happy birthday singing ever.

I wouldn't really blame this one on CF though. Raging Wolf Bobs and G-trains in general sucked way before Cedar Fair took control of the park.

It wouldn't surprise me, what with those damn G-trains.

Great job. I actually wasn't expecting to watch the whole thing, but did end up watching it all.

Think of it this way. Do you think a baker makes a loaf of bread? Or is it the yeast reacting with all the other ingredients combined with the heat which makes it? The two can overlap sometimes depending on how you look at it.

I'm going with "cautious optimism" in regards to that Canadas Wonderland rumour. There's been far too many similar rumors in the past that ended up being nothing. Though that area behind Italian Job and Minebuster I've always said would be perfect for a hyper coaster. So I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

They might have stumbled onto a great marketing idea. Sell alcohol in sippy cups. That way when we get drunk we don't spill our beer all over the place.

Cedar Point works on 5 year plans. So I can assure you that the next few years are already planned to some extent. They don't just sit down in the off season and go "So what should we do next year?".

I'm surprised that it's even possible to get to Alton and back from London via public transport. I mean it is like 150 miles. Couldn't you have just rented a car for the day?

Yeah, car is the only way to go. There is no easy way to bus/train/fly from Toronto to Cedar Point. Well you could fly, but it'd be expensive. Not sure about the age to rent a car. But I think it's either 21 or 25. You'll have to check to be sure though.

^ It's probably quicker to go the Buffalo route from Toronto though. Going through Detroit from Toronto involves a bit of back tracking. Although there's probably not a huge difference.

Well there's also been people to say that Maverick is in no ways better than MF. I can't really give an opinion on the ride itself as I haven't been on it yet. I'm just trying to take an educated guess on how it's going to be ranked. But I think I'm starting to get too close to that line of "Saying ride XX is better then ride YY even though I haven't been on it". So I'll reserve my exact opinions on Maverick until I've ridden it.

It probably won't do as well as you think just because it won't have as much ridership. Something which Mitch's poll accounts for compared to golden tickets which doesn't. I just don't beleive that Maverick is good enough to consistently rank above the current group of top tier rides on Mitch's poll. Though that being said, there are some damn good rides on Mitchs poll which aren't in the top 10. So even if Maverick came in at 40 or something, that shouldn't take away from how good the ride is.

As Airtime mentioned, it WILL rank higher because it's at Cedar Point. The golden ticket awards are political, and are pushed by marketing dollars. It is not based off just the ride itself. Just look at Magnum. Do you really beleive that it should be ranked #3 in the world? It's only ranked that high because the "experts" which vote have never been outside of Ohio. Not to take anything away from Maverick, as it looks good. But I can assure you that it will rank much higher in the golden tickets then it will on Mitch's poll.

Money probably. As well as just a total lack of interest. Everything at Marineland takes forever to get built. Plus the rides at Marineland are not a big draw, so adding some theming will always come second to the animal exhibits.

That would really suck to be stuck on an X-coaster for any period of time. That lift hill is a worthless uncomfortable gimmick.

Well they did just have a coaster crash due to rain a few weeks ago, so you'll have to excuse them if they're a bit anal about that right now.

Looks like fun Cameron. I guess they wouldn't have been impressed if you just hit the gas and tried to outrun the pace car?

Take the QEW Niagara to Fort Erie/Buffalo and cross at the Peace Bridge. Then take I-190/I-90 all the way to Sandusky. Then US-250 north, and follow the signs for Cedar Point. Should be about a 4-5 hour drive. Though I haven't made the drive from Toronto as I live an hour west. September crowds are pretty light. (other then during Halloweekends). For hotels I suggest Breakers Express.

I'm going to guess guest services. My CW pass scanned at KD, but both were ex-Paramount parks. My CW pass did not scan at CP, and Tom's MIA Maxx pass did not scan at CW.
