  1. Happy thanksgiving everyone. Personally I'm loving this. 99% of my work volume comes from the US. So without anyone bugging me, and no new work coming in, I'm just blazing through my giant backlog of work. Phone hasn't rung all day, and I don't expect it to until monday. Poor chemists though who are going to come in monday morning to a pile of work I've sent their way.
  2. I think I share the same name as some doctors and scientists. But no one too famous. Though I have noticed my last name pops up in tv/movies from time to time. (Fowler).
  3. Where did that come from? Nobody in this thread is in any way saying that at all, why does it need to be brought up? All that is going to do is spurn flaming debates. -Rock "pun" I thought it was a valid point because it's true. (I only use "true" in the sense that this is a very common stero type, that lesbians are "hot" and gay men are not) It is for some reason a double standard. I'm not really sure why.
  4. While I agree with the cause, I couldn't help but scratch my head at the reference to the Paris riots. The problems in Paris are alot more complex then a lack of jobs for teenagers who then run amuck. It's apples to oranges.
  5. That was kind of fun. Like a big jig saw puzzle. I got 44/50. AVg error 103 miles.
  6. ^ Plus it helps that it seems Robb and Elissa won't put up with any crap. I've been on a few forums(one in particular that I used to spend the most time) that has adopted a near troll freindly attitude. They protect posters that are so obviously trolling until they do something severly wrong(more out of boredem) and are finally banned. An obvious troll should not get to over 10,000+ posts before getting banned.
  7. That was awesome!! Is it just themed to the music for the video? Or do they actually play the music outside? Making your neighbours have seizures is one thing, but blasting music all night might be worse.
  8. I'm really impressed about how well this thread has gone. Hell I've never even see one of these types of threads last more then 10 pages. I also found it interesting how many people are open about what side they are on. All the past threads on other boards I've seen have gone very differently. Typically the first few pages get filled up with flaming and gay bashing to the point that those that were gay would be far too intimidated to admit it. Just another reason why I'm starting to come to this board more often then other boards that I used to spend more time on. And to answer the question I'm straight, but have no problem with anyone who's gay. I'm kind of a take things as they are type person.
  9. I think basically it comes down to what the shot is for, and where it's getting stuck. Kind of like how when I've given blood I find the finger prick to tell your blood type more painful then the giant need and tube that they jab into my arm.
  10. Ever had a tooth pulled? I've had a couple teeth pulled, and the way they gave me the pain medicine was by sticking a needle through the roof of my mouth. I could actually feel the crack of cartilige. Now THAT was painful. Though it was followed by a wonderful numbing sensation that made me forget about the pain and pretty much anything else.
  11. The one time I got it I barely felt it. I don't intend to go out of my way to get it. I feel the same whenever I get it or I don't. It's just a giant conspiracy to spread the mind control additive.
  12. I nearly crippled myself snow tubing. We went over a jump with me on the bottom of the tube. Tube didn't come with us, and my two freinds landed on my back, dislocating my collar bone. My clavical was pushed an inch in and an inch over, so that it was tucked behind my sternum. I'll explain that a bit better if anyone had trouble pictuing it. Feel that ball at the right end of your left colar bone? Now feel the flat bone just below, and between both colar bones? Yup, that's where my colar bone ended up. I somehow managed to walk back up the hill. But that's when I went into shock. (kind of felt like being drunk to be honest). I had to be carried away because I was so out of it. Though it wasn't till the next day that I decided to go to the ER. Only after the swelling went down, and I realized that I could poke my finger into a hole where my colar bone should have been. To get it back out they knocked me out, grabbed my sternum with a clamp, pulled it up, and then gave my arm a good wrench to pop the bone back out. 4 months later I was finally able to use my arm again.
  13. That's actually pretty close to how I descrive enthusiest events to my non-coaster riding freinds. "Think star trek convention minus the costumes". I'm single and straight. Though really I don't really look for relationships in coaster enthusiests. Not that I have anything against it, I just don't really see it happening. Though I guess that should come with an asterix considering that I haven't really hung out with any female enthusiests who aren't wives of other enthusiests. I met regret asking this, and excuse my ignorance as I'm totally blanking. But what's TS stand for?
  14. I seem to remember the judges having really werid juding criteria. I can actually remember building super long like 2 minute chain lifts. It would lengthen the ride to the point that they would give great scores. They never commented on the super boring 2 minute chain lift though.
  15. They do infact enforce it. We were walking into line later in the day when ahead of us a mother, sister, and daughter got in the back car. The daughter couldn't have been older then 10. The mother and daughter litteraly had the lap bar half way down when the ride op grabbed it, flung it back up, and told them to get out. So that let us get on sooner. That's the funny thing I found about the ride. The back car is hands down the best. However everyone seemed to stick to the front of the station. Almost like they were afraid of the back for some reason.
  16. I had a pedometer(those things that record number of steps) logged inbetween my hip and the seat belt. The air time was intense enough that it buried itself into my hip and left a pretty decent size bruise. There's a very, very good reason that you have to be 18 to ride in the back car.
  17. I'm in, and so looking forward to it. Can't have enough Canadian's on the trip.
  18. Nice retro TR. Brings back memories of my first trip to Cali. I'm right in the front of that random Excelarator station picture.
  19. That ride was crazy intense. It's rough, but rough in a good way. I think on one ride my shirt was almost coming off due to the crazy forces and airtime.
  20. Nice job Ted. I flew through the poll thanks to that.
  21. Well just remember that adding the swing doesn't increase their flat ride count with Demon Drop on the way out. Though hopefully they'll find a way to save it. Just doesn't seem right to remove it. But adding new flats is always a good idea. Makes them a more rounded park. Though I'd love to see a top scan at Cedar Point.
  22. Isn't everything in Kentucky classy with a "K"? So they're keeping looping star? Not sure I need to ride it a second time. That credit kind of freaked me out. Never a good sign walking up to the ride, and having the creepy rideop explain which seats had working restraints(seems to be about half of them). I'm going to try and make it back for the new woodie and wild mouse(I was to early this year) next year. Though I have no idea if it will work out considering the distance away it is.
  23. I found the B&M's to have much more tight restraints. Meaning your back is held much tighter agains the car. Where as Vekoma's you kind of sag down off the back of the car. So you're basically hanging in the harness. Makes it feel like you're about to fall out at any minute. Probably a good and bad thing depending on how you look at it. I know some people who despised the Vekoma just because of the feeling of the restraints.
