True. However it's highly unlikely that all of us will take up all of the spots on any of the trips. There should be plenty of spots left open for newcomers. Myself for example won't be doing the midwest as I did that last year, and won't be able to do Japan due to it's length and cost. So Spain seems most likely for me.

TPR breaks another Intamin Rocket?
Carnage replied to WillMontu's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ You could say the exact same thing about TTD last year and then it blew a gearbox on labour day and was done for the year(minus one weekend or so). Even when these rocket coasters are working properly they're running on borrowed time. It just seems like it's always not "if" something is going to brake, it's "when" something is going to brake. -

Also the second batch of ERT was just an addition. So steeplechase was open for the full 2 hours, etc. That day at Blackpool was as good a day as I've had at any park ever. -
Maybe they didn't want you to have any proof that SFSTL is a dump that is not worth going to unless you're a die hard credit whore.

Niiicolaaah's TPR UK Trip Photos

Only once? Ted,Catrina, and I managed to crash them 3 times I think. We really sucked at that game, though at least we didn't finish last. Still fun though. -
UK Photo TR: live2tell75 (the other Eric Johnson)

Nice TR so far Eric. Brings back alot of memories. Looking forward to meeting up for future theme park adventures. I'm slowly catching up in real life. Hopefully soon I'll be able to start going through all of my pics, etc. But in the meantime I'm enjoying everyone else's TR's. -
question about wonderlands new owner
Carnage replied to pcw guy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Cedar Fair is buying Paramount, not Six Flags. There's an entire thread on the purchase. And no Canadas Wonderland will not be getting a giant roller coaster like Goliath. At least I'd be shocked if they did. -
Yeah, it did just seem to go on and on. Maybe we were hypnotized by the music and lights. Yeah, these POVs came out pretty well. There was a couple one's not included though that came out not so well.

Hmm, is anyone else getting this? It seems to work fine for me. I just tried viewing it and it got all the way through. When I uploaded it last night it failed partway through, so maybe that is affecting it? Try saving the video to your computer and watching it. Let me know if that helps.
-
As promised here's my craptacular POVs. I didn't really have any time to do real editing, so I basically just slammed the decent POVs together into one big video. If I didn't do it now, I probably wouldn't have at all due to trying to get ready for the UK. Warning, it's about a 50+ meg WMV, again didn't have time to play with the quality settings. Enjoy. Link

You'll be able to hear it for real soon enough. And yeah the flyer's pretty much sucked. The warmup spin used to check the seatbelts at Knobels was faster. Though they were still better then Lake Compounce's.
-
lol I didn't take THAT long. Then again, considering how long it took us to ride everything that short delay probably cost us 20 rides. Just finished watching the video. Quite craptacular if I don't say so myself. I'll try and post the decent parts when I get a chance.

lol at the last pic. I wish it had pumped quicker. That was a pretty sketchy corner that we decided to get gas at. Good thing we got the hell out of there as soon as the gas was in. coasterbilly I'd guess maybe 45 minutes from SFDL?? Maybe less. It was like an 1.5 hour drive for us, and SFDL was maybe at the halfway point. I'll try and get that POV footage up tonight. I'm really curious as to how it turned out as well.

^ It's not even a half day credit run. 20 minutes tops if you just wanted the coaster credits. We had like 2 hours worth of practical ERT. The only thing I can figure of MFI is that they saw the forcast early and decided to pre-close it. Or they closed for some other non-related reason and just used that sign. Still doesn't make any sense though.
-
No idea really, I'm not familiar with the area. Are you actually considering flying into Rochester just to go to Seabreeze?? From what I've seen of that city I don't think I'd want to fly in there, and especially not just for a few credits. Now if you were just passing through on the way to something else, that would make a whole lot more sense. Otherwise you might be the most dedicated credit whore ever.

Sorry, the name bobsleds is misleading. It's a steel coaster running small boblsed type cars. It's built using the supports of some old wooden roller coaster. The name and the cars are the only things that are bobsled. It's not a boblsed type coaster. AGain, it's a weird credit.
-
Yup, the boblsed is still there. That was a pretty weird credit. And the best part of the mouse? NINETY DEGREESS!!!!

All I could think of while pulling into MFIs parking lot was "PArks closed, didn't the moose out front tell you?". I watched car after car of confused people pull into the lot only to turn around once confirming that no one was in site. One lady even pulled up and asked me when the park closed. After I responded with "I don't know, I just got here", she said "To work??". Uhh, no I do not work here. Trip worked out well in the end though, even though I made it home close to 1AM. I'll try and post stuff tonight, though the pics are probably close tot he same Nicole has. When I asked the Jackrabbit op if we could take cameras on the rides he just looked at me like I was crazy for asking.

A Big BYE-BYE to those going on the UK Trip!

Probably the same people that actually believed that cloaking devices were being used in the Japanese parks to make them look empty. -

All the cars are back on. No idea why they were removed. Though to be honest I couldn't tell a difference with the 5 car trains or 6 cars. I didn't even know they removed a car until someone mentioned it recently(and I did ride it with shortened trains). -
I wonder how many times Breakfast Club has been on tv? It's gotta be one of the more televised movies ever.

Millenium Force out of Operation?

^ Dragster broke down Labour Day weekend and sat idle until like the 2nd or 3rd last weekend. Some of these parts are big enough that it takes time to make them and ship them. It's not like you can have an overnight delivery on some giant motor from Switzerland. -

There's not enough room to go by MF like that. This is not RCT, they have realistic space limitations.
