That sounds like some pretty weird operations for ERT. I've never seen TTD run 3 trains. I've only seen 5 and 6 car operations the times I've been there.
-
^ That'd definetly not the norm. It is the norm however if they're having mechanical or weather related problems. If there's no mechanical problems, on a warm sunny summer day they are usual launching trains every minute or less.

When TTD is running it has some of the fastest operations in the park. It's capacity is huge when it's running well. TTD has it's share of weather/mechanical related problems, but slow operations isn't a problem.

Ride TTD as soon as possible. Since TTD has been open I have never seen it run without problems. It will tend to have random breakdowns through out the day. Ride it early, and then laugh at the people lining up along the fence when it croaks later in the afternoon.

From what I understand the train did engage the roll back. Just that because only the start of the train was on the lift, the weight of the back of the train pulled it off the roll backs. -

Wait I'm confused. The english article says the train in the station was hit from behind? So that would not be a lift hill rollback? -
Currently if you don't have a passport you need a birth certificate and photo ID.

I'm flattered, but I don't go that way. Oh you meant Kristi didn't you? Awkward moment. -
I've been playing fantasy hockey for years. Though I thnk this year I'm going to take a break. Last year I just found I didn't have the time or energy to do the micomanaging required.

Funny how 8 days seems so short. It felt like the trip was over a day after it started. -

They got rid of the tank boats?? That was probably the highlight of my day(outside of the coasters). Well it'd be close between that and getting fooled by the balcony in the haunted house. -

^ Isn't hearing the first thing to go anyways?? Could be unrelated to the screaming. -

Aren't wooden coasters supposed to "jump the tracks" to some extent? -

I understand completely. I had an awesome time at IB last year. It was definetly the surprise of the trip. I didn't really expect much out of it, but got blown away. I'd love to get back this year, but I don't think it's going to happen. -

I actually found it kind of fun getting lost. Adds to the adventure. The problem I ran into on the way back was being too used to the Toronto subway system. In Toronto the train on the other side of the platform is always going the other direction. So when I switched trains I just assumed the other train was going to be going westbound. -

^ to be honest it's not that hard to get around. The map is pretty easy to follow. I just got lazy and paid for it. -

^ Yeah, I totally get where you're coming from. One of my guiltly pleasures was Ultimate. It was honestly one of my favourite coasters on the trip, while most others hated it with a passion. -

^^ Yeah, I know. Though it would take a little tweaking to change the image tags into BB code. I might convert them eventually, but not at midnight when I'm half awake. -
I'm a bit behind some of the others, but better late then never. I've gotten my first 3 trip reports done. Instead of trying to re-write these into forum posts I'm just going to link directly to my blog entries. I'm lazy so sue me. I just thought X:/WTF was boring. Well the ride itself that is. I did find the light leaking through a moving fan(causing the shadown to move all over the room) to be a very cool touch. -

If the problem was that the supports failed wouldn't a retracking have nothing to do with that? What would be the difference between new or old track having it's supports buckle? Then again, I'm no engineer. -

That's exactly why MS was trimmed. It was starting to tear itself apart, and was becoming far too expensive to maintain. It was costing over $250,000 per year to maintain. -

^ Cedar Fair bought the entire paramount parks chain a month or so ago.
