The tacky tourist trap area at AK is PURPOSELY themed to be quite tacky! I read somewhere when they brought up the question why did Disney just build a coaster? The Imaggineer replied, It was really hard for us not to make it look good! It's just a part of Route 66 themeing that does fit in to the USA part of Dinoland USA.

I think my favorite geek out moment came when I went on the Keys to the Kingdom tour at WDW. Highlights: Saw the elaborate set up for American Adventures at Epcot Met a guy who has worked on ToT since it opened and told me how he keeps the vehicles in shape. UTILIDOORS! Backstage Machine Shop behind the Magic Kingdom!!! I would have pictures, but the Mouse doe not want those floating arround the net.

Hopefully Dollywood, Silver Dollar city, and Wild Adventures! Im really hoping for Wild Adventures though...

I will be going to Cedar Point that weekend of the Coastermania! and will probably join Club TPR to attend the event. But what are the crowds like on that weekend usually? For the GP I mean. And what does the "bring one guest mean"? If my Dad and I sign up and attend the event, could we take my mom and sister as guests?

^ Thats what Im thinking. I think this is put up for humor, instead of an actual park. I also agree that it should be a Shwarzy in stead of a B&M.

Well im really diggin those trains. Hopefully they will light up at night! Think How cool it would be to see a lightcycle speed around Spaceship Earth!!! Sorry fanboy moment. I really hope they put Flynn's Arcade in at Space Mountain's exit by revamping the current one to go along with the Monorails.

^ Im thinking that it would be a bit of a monopoly as it would be the only Regional park operator in the US ( I dont consider Herschand and Blackstone to be regional operators). But one could argue the XM-Sirius Satellite radio merger as being a monopoly, yet since its more of a niche market (Like Theme Parks) it wouldn't matter to the Trust Judges. And yes, that is exactly what I meant for the Rehabs. Flight of Fear, Stunt Coaster, Mean Streak/Hurler/Grizzly could all benefit from the Six Flags rehabs. Not so much rehab, but revitalization!

If there was an attempt at a merger, I dont see how it would go through the US Trust laws. Too much of a Monopoly... But if it does happen, I would prefer CedarFair to run the parks, yet adopt Six Flags new policy of Rehabing old/unpopular rides, and making them popular again. But Cedar Point/Kings Island and Magic Mountain/Great Adventure under one umbrella? No way. I dont see it happening.

^ Maybe. Its still tentative, but pretty sure they will be used in the near future. Hopefully when they announce the Maverick-ish ride that is rumored, they will also announce new trains. BTW. That news story is quite interesting. It will definitely be in Carl Hiassen's next novel. I think the woman posted bail. Pocketed the 25k, and headed to Georgia.Time to call in The DOG!

This can only mean great news! I actually really liked Gwazi when it first opened. But on subsequent trips, it just has fallen to the wayside. Hopefully now it wont be the Black Sheep of GCI anymore... Actually, Im pretty sure the Tiger side was my First wooden coaster...

Now the real question is, will this be a cheaper alternative to new coasters vs. re-tracking existing ones if it becomes a runaway success. Mean Streak has a very sound structure, every time I've rode i don't see as much sway as I do with others. But with SoB... I don't think that structure can handle much change at all. Especially if the steel track and trains are heavier, which caused SoB to rupture. I applaud Shapiro and the rest of the Six Flags big wigs for opting for Renovation/ Re-imagination over installing a new coaster/ Attraction. ^ I think he was going for a more classic arrow mine train car. Such as Cedar Creek Mine ride at CP or Dalonegah Mine Train at SFoG. Thats what the person did for their SFoG recreation. Keep up the good work! Its looking great!

I remember my dad telling me about this park! He said he had only been there once and it felt like Busch Gardens w/o the animals.

PUBLIX!!!!!! Where shopping IS a pleasure! Anyhoo, Great TR! Those HRR pics made me laugh especially the one in the station qwith the little girl looking really excited, and the parents trying to figure out the Music system!

I think lack of interest/Importance is probably the main cause. *that answer could also tell why HRP/Freestyle Music Park foreclosed as well*

Very very sad. Died doing what she loved. My condolences to their family. I wonder how the investors at Blackstone are taking the news, this is their first major incident since buying Sea World. Will they rid of the Orca? Maybe they will release it or maybe transport it to one of Merlin's Sea Life Aquariums.
