Legoland Florida Discussion Thread
PriestofSyrinx replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
But Cypress Gardens is a very unique place. I remeber going there as a kid when i still lived in Orlampa (Lakeland Fl). If it opperates as a gillroy Gardens, then we have no problem! The place is still popular with Snowbirds, and they will bring their children to see these nice Gardens in addition to Disney. But to have a Legoland there! I dont know... I guess I'm looking at the glass half full, because I really like that park, especially with out the rollercoasters. -
Erik & Misty's Smoky Mountain Adventures
PriestofSyrinx replied to Electerik's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Just contine the thred! Cause Orlando/Central Florida has some of these tacky attractions as well! -
Okayyy: Lets do the Pros & Cons: Pros: Part of the Chicago Metro Area On Lake Michigan Major Brand Associated with it (Might be more appealing to certin demographics) Cons: A Michael Jackson Theme Park 11 years after his death Its in a slum town, smack dab in the Rust Belt Too far away from Downtown Chicago Economy At least the park could buy Son Of Beast, move it and call it "The Joe Jackson Experience" Sorry about the bad taste...

And a sad one from Busch Gardens Europe: GP: 25 years! Man! I hope it last for twenty five more. ( I didnt have the heart to tell him otherwise) -
Coasters at Night
PriestofSyrinx replied to Erik Johnson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Magnum XL 200 When its dark and all you can see are ships out on lake Erie, its pretty intense -
Best Steel Coaster- Maverick (My favorite of the decade, Magnum is my favorite of all time though) Best Wood Coaster- The Voyage Best Innovation- Intamin Accelerators- Though some may disagree with this being an innovation and more of an evolution, think of the impact this has left on the industry, weather they put an intamin in or other accelerator. Very similar to the Invert boom caused by B&M Best Water Ride: All of my favorites are pre- 2000, so i put down the most memorable, Zoombabwe at Spashin' Safari! Best Epic Fail- I choose HRP over SOB, because of the larger investment and how it failed miserably with no attractions. SOB was close though with a hyper wood coaster with a loop built by RCCA. That just sounds fail. Close runner ups for me were: California Adventure and Deja Vu Best Employees: Tie between Disney's Animal Kingdom and Dollywood

I agree. Universal has this freedom (like Disney, Sea World, other year round parks) to do these soft opening tests and not to have a definitive opening date. While other seasonal regional parks (Cedar Point, Six Flags) want a ride to open on this date at this time, come Hell or high water! Because that Investment needs that immediate reimbursement. If they would have done to rides like Deja' Vu, Top Thrill Dragster, Hypersonic XL, etc. what they are doing to HRR, then the Coaster community might not complain as much about the down time. But they cant, sadly. So I do agree with Robb and say let it have down time now, so we don't complain about it for the next 3 years about how its never open...

I would be pissed too! I was just about to invest in Cedar fair due to the low stock price around 6.5, and get reimbursed in May/June when it shoots up to around 20 (especially since it will be opening two major roller coasters in that time) So I am in favor of the lawsuit, but also In favor of Having Blackstone take over

24 Days of Theme Park Review Videos!
PriestofSyrinx replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
These past two videos have fully solidified how I want to spend my happiest day of my life. I just gotta find the girl out there that likes Roller Coasters and Rush... -
I found this interesting... The link below is an article of the new system: http://www.attractionsmagazine.com/blog/2009/12/15/disneys-queueless-system-testing-continues-at-rock-n-roller-coaster/ Some pics of the que area: http://www.studioscentral.com/column/studios-update/rock-n-roller-coaster-queue-changes In my opinion, it may cut down on fastpass usage, but not by much. This is interesting to say the least, but I think this would only work for a few of the higher thrill rides (RnR, Test Track, Soarin') and not for the "Dumbo" ride and the type of crowds it would attract i.e. A bunch of families with small children in a roam around area that will probably miss their time to ride due to this new queuing system.

Busch Gardens Trip
PriestofSyrinx replied to Hobbesx2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
First off: Busch Gardens is a great way to celebrate Festivus! Just dont get into trouble when doing the feats of strength Anywhoo: Remember! Winter in Florida= Influx of grandchildren from the north coming to see their grand parents for Festivus and Christmas. I have gone on the 23rd twice in my life, one it was crowded beyond belief! The next time it was dead, so its really hit or miss. I can guarantee you that Tampa is MUCH less crowded than Orlando during the Winter Seasons! Have a Happy Festivus! -
Stoksy's RCT2 Coaster Contest
PriestofSyrinx replied to Stoksy's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
If you still need judges, Id be more than happy to help! I might not be as good at this game, but I know a good park when I see it. -
What Im more worried about is not so Theme park Related, Im just worried that Comcast will jack up the price on NBC and MSNBC (Just like they did when they purchased Verses Network) so that DirecTV, Dish, Time Warner Cable, etc. will have to charge more for its basic service, thus making Comcast the lowest price on the market again. Or even worse, not being able to get the channel at all But I hope that the Government will realize that a TV CABLE PROVIDER taking control of one of the Big Four Networks (CBS,ABC,Fox,NBC) would go against anti-trust laws

Definite: Cedar Point (staying on property at the BREAKERS!) Kings Island Kings Dominion (never been) Carowinds SFoG That CedarFair MAXPass is too good to pass up! Maybe: Holiday World WDW (I dont know if this is final or not) So hopefully that will be 14 + 1 + 2 new coasters! Including the Intimidators!
