  1. I have been on some log flumes with immersive theming that really stand out from the rest. Splash Mountain (Disneyland) Log Chute (Nick Universe) American Plunge (Silver Dollar City)
  2. Total rides 01. (18) Renegade 02. (15) Prowler 03. (14) Evel Knievel 04. (12) Roar 04. (12) V2: Vertical Velocity 04. (12) Medusa 07. (10) Raging Bull 07. (10) Giant Dipper 09. (09) Wild Thing 10. (08) Voyage In a row (with or without leaving/switching seats) 01. (17) Renegade 02. (14) Prowler 03. (13) Evel Knievel 04. (09) Raging Bull 05. (08) Wild Thing 06. (06) Giant Dipper I just noticed something uncanny: There are 75 coasters I have ridden twice or more, and there are 75 coasters I have ridden only once.
  3. Random question: Was Olympic Bobsled there this year? It's my favorite portable coaster. Random comment: Last year Zillerator was in Washington but not the California State Fair. I thought it was decent.
  4. I personally think EK is amazing in the front seat. For me it was one of those "Once you go to the front, you never go back!" rides. However, I also don't think it really has any bad seats. Even the middle is fine. It's just a very fun, rerideable, consistently enjoyable twister.
  5. ^I didn't get to experience that as I was still on Viper, but I did get the very back for the last ride of the night, and the prevailing wisdom is correct: one must ride Raging Bull in the very back row in order to get amazing ejector on the first drop. "Near" the back simply doesn't compare. I'm so glad I lucked out and finally got to try it.
  6. 050. Dragon Train (Traintown) 100. Wacky Worm (Worlds of Fun) 150. Corkscrew (Valleyfair!)
  7. I have ridden Roar West, Terminator, Prowler, Evel Knievel, and Renegade. Evel Knievel easily has the most consistent and satisfying airtime of the five. It's amazing in the front seat.
  8. Personally, I believe in the "Morgan ejector seat", which is 1-3 like Magnum. They seem to have more intense airtime in that row. Then again, I don't suppose I could prove it. Has anyone else experienced this?
  9. Renegade from 10 to 11 last night.
  10. Does anyone remember my last series of posts that centered around trying to credit whore a Dragon Wagon? I know I promised my next post would not be sad and pathetic, but I lied. My last coaster was Minor Mike at Knucklehead's in Wisconsin Dells.
  11. Black Trucks - Psychopathic Rydas
  12. I just want to note how much I've enjoyed this thread! Every few pages or so I've thought of some lengthy response to something I've read, but it's all evaporated now. I guess I'll have to save my comments for the Middle America thread!
  13. Honestly, this makes me sad. However, I'm sure it isn't the greatest park around, and I totally understand the reasoning behind closing it. It's just disappointing because it's a park I would definitely consider visiting due to my affection for classic parks and coasters.
  14. Hi Larry, this is my first time posting here so I'm not sure if I'm doing it perfectly. I think these three shots were the best/most representative; if not then I have a few more. Silverwood Bumper Boats Sign Station and tethered boats It surrounds the Paratrooper
  15. I think Knott's has a satisfactory ride collection, and I don't mind how the coasters affect the 'look' of the park. However, I agree that the park is pretty lacking in charm (although it's not as bad as I had feared it would be). It seemed very Cedar Fair to me, for sure. It's not among my favorites, and not coincidentally neither is CGA.
  16. Noooooooooooo! I love Flo! Seriously, every one of those commercials makes me smile or laugh.
  17. I was totally expecting that! (Why does it feel so much dirtier today without the "credit" part attached?) Congratulations on the Miner Mike credit, I've yet to ride one of those! Yes. I feel so lame with my posts in this thread lately... Carry on, everybody. Thankfully my next coaster is scheduled for August 5th. 4 days!
  18. Very sad for everybody involved, especially the girl and her family. I'm interested to learn how it happened. Selfishly, it's occured to me that at least this will "save" me from being tempted to ride this next month.
  19. ^I figured my post would go ignored, or at most I'd hear a friendly "You're such a sad, pathetic whore" type comment. Instead, validation from the world-renowned expert at gaining kiddie coaster credits? Very nice. Thanks for the heads-up about my prize. Sounds like I'll have something to look forward to at home after my trip! Don't worry everybody, my next relevant post in this thread is projected to involve a perfectly legitimate, grown-up, and non-embarrassing coaster ride. Let's hope.
  20. I haven't ridden any coasters in a while, but I did add a new credit today! Many years ago, I used to ride a Dragon Wagon at the local parking lot carnival. After I started counting coasters, I assumed it was probably a powered coaster, so I decided not to count it. Today, I saw what I believe is the same Dragon Wagon, and it appears to be a gravity coaster just like the Tiger Express I rode recently. I got denied. And yes, I tried very hard to ride it! Since I don't want to screw up my mini-milestones and the credit order I'm used to, I added Dragon Wagon as my most recent credit, #84. Even if the one I actually rode was a different one and is powered, I'll count it anyway, since, believe it or not, I actually do count powered coasters. Yay retroactive credits!
  21. ^I think staying in motion is one reason, and can also apply to other elements of a ride. For example, if someone is afraid of inversions, remind them that the entire ride is very short time-wise to begin with, and the inversion itself is only a small proportion of that. I think another reason is that you know you're secure (well, assuming you trust the restraints). You can reassure yourself that you were perfectly secure in the station, and there's no reason for that to change. You know the restraints were designed to hold you in safely throughout the entire course. By contrast, in almost every other commonplace activity (standing on a balcony, ledge, ladder, mountaintop, etc.), you're standing and walking around of your own free will, which may bring out a fear of making a misstep and falling.
  22. X2 is currently my favorite coaster. However, I think if I got used to riding it, it might seem less unique and more just gimmicky. Even though it's fairly well-respected, you will definitely come across mixed opinions. I enjoy inverts, but I didn't 'get' Batman. Since I've heard so many good reviews of it, I think it's obvious that I just need to ride it again to get a better idea. Honestly, Tatsu seems somewhat 'generic' to me. However, it has several obvious redeeming values to make it stand out: the flying aspect, the terrain, and the pretzel loop.
  23. I feel like I've severely exceeded my limit for making posts about the same topic within a short timespan. It's an awkward feeling. I'd better leave the computer before I make yet another post on the topic.
  24. ^Thank you for your response. Since I prefer PayPal, I went ahead and sent in the payment that way. Who knows, maybe I'll try a check in the future.
  25. Thanks, but no thanks. I just signed up for the Road to Cedar Point Trip! I like how convenient the setup is this time around, thanks!
