  1. Yeah but if you try to tell a Disney Fan that, they will come back with "They added all of DCA since Indy..." PS: Okay I'll admit it...I couldn't find any of my recent posts, so I posted so I could see if my "donkey" rating had changed...
  2. My dad who is nearing 60 will still do all of the coasters but my mom will not- but LOVES spin-n-puke rides- the Tilit-a-whirl is one of her favorites
  3. Mean Streak wasn't built by any of the those companies- it was built by Summers & Dinn- in fact I think it was their last
  4. I still wonder why CP decided to name a coaster after a really cheap brand of cigarettes????? (the ones I smoke at that) Hey just because its sort of relavant- I saw my 1st CP/Maverick commercial yesterday... They called it "the world's first 'thrill' coaster" WTF is that?! All previous coasters weren't for thrills apparently?
  5. Reading all of these posts reminds me that when I worked at the former Camp Snoopy at Mall of America we lost power- something about a truck backing into something in the basement. I was working the camp bus and it was not at a full arch so the parents and I were able to unload all of the kids easily but the flume and coaster had to be walked down and the Tree Top Tumbler was up and when they got a cherry picker to evac it the power came back on. ---->Sidebar- The Tree Top Tumbler is by far my FAVORITE "flat ride," why aren't there more of them out there?! Also when I worked at SFGAm I was chosen to test ride their sky coaster one morning- they had a list you could sign to be picked each day. They pulled me halfway up and I stopped and they never told me why and I hung there for 20 minutes before without any warning I was hoisted the rest of the way up- that sudden rise backwards was scarier than the ride itself!
  6. Of course it doesn't help that the coaster never hits "perfect intervals" i.e. you never come directly into the station at the end of the ride and instead get parked- at least when there are 3 trains running- same with Mantis actually. Side Note: Anyone ever see Mantis when it stops on the mid-course breaks- when it releases it barely makes the rest of the circuit! Not to be-little the accident but going to a two-train operation is not going to slow things down too much- when the trains are backed up to out of the station on every cycle removing a train is not going to slow things down too much it may add like an extra 10-30 seconds per cycle is all and in addition with MF, Mav, TopThrillDragQueen, and SkyHawk all pulling in major wait-times the queues have been non-existant at Magnum the past 3 times I was at the point (okay Mav wasn't open but still Maggie was walk-on two times and the line was at the stairs the other time).
  7. I am not 100% sure but since the water is for the most part gravity powered in the troth it would seem there would be enough water to carry the boats around to the end.
  8. I moved out of Camp Snoopy not long afterwards (and became the park's first male sweeper!) and I have a vauge memory that they added the lift stairs after the outage, but I wasn't 100% sure so I didn't want to say anything about it.
  9. I am unemployed at the present time and have yet to have the chance to fulfill my theme park need this year so I am living through this site right now and something that I read reminded me of a moderate day back in 1999 when I was working in Camp Snoopy at Cedar Point... The entire back of the park- from Magnum all the way around to Mean Streak lost power. It was kind of scary but mostly it was just interesting to see how all of the mid-course breaks worked and how the coasters were evacuated. The only thing that I had to do during the outage was ensure that the no longer inflated giant Snoopy inflated bounce thing deflated into his pen and not onto the midway. The most interesting thing about the outage is that the Woodstock coaster was on its lift hill and it did not have lift stairs (don't know if it does now or not). Another interesting thing happened when I was a boat Captain for WDW transportation. The monorail suffered a "power outage" (that's the reason they gave the guests) and the massive "after fireworks rush" had to be emptied on the ferries and buses! It was hectic but exciting! Anyone have similar stories?
  10. The stupidest (most stupid?) thing about the Top Thrill Dragqueen queue is that there are huge billboards blocking your view of the track. At least with Raptor and Mantis you have a decent view of the ride while you are waiting. It is also kind of neat that part of Mantis' queue is over water- so as far as non-themed queues those are pretty neat. SFGAm's old Shockwave queue was a bit odd- it was a loooong straight queue for the most part. The strangest queue was Exterminator at Kennywood- they had this heavily themed indoor queue area but they made you wait outside and then let a bunch of people inside at a time so you were walking raidly through the themed part. I also always liked ET's indoor queue.
  11. When I was working there in 1999 (not on that ride however) the E-Stop was hit and so the train at the start of the lift stopped however the train coming into the station blew right through the station and headed up the lift missing rearending the train on the lift by less than a foot.
  12. This is my 2nd attempt using Elementary- I'll call it a tribute because I know it is not a true duplication- but I had to do it because I was annoyed that I could not do it in any of the RCT games... Speed- The Ride Speed2.nltrack
  13. You know what they say about opinions... No what do they say? Isn't that what everyone on here is giving? Just because you disagree with mine you have to put me down!?
  14. To me Top Thrill Dragqueen is HIGHLY over-rated and I would not wait more than 15 minutes if I ever do it again- it is over before you have the chance to enjoy it- I would rather try Stormrunner personally.
  15. Oh come on- over 50 people have looked at this post- surely someone can offer a tip or two...
  16. I just cannot get the feel of how to do anything with this game- my hills are all slanted and I can't make a loop to save my life- does anyone know where I can find better tips than the ones that the game comes with? BLAST.nltrack Attempt #5 The Runs.nltrack Attempt #4
  17. I'm just coming back to playing RCT3 cuz I play the crap out of a game for a few months and then change so its up in rotation I guess... ...Anyways I like those little picnic tables- very realistic looking- A) Where did you get them? B) Do the peeps actually use them?
  18. Are we going to see that in the Videos section soon?
  19. No that is how you found the site originally- this is how you get here daily or whatever
  20. When I surf to this site I type in "them" in the address bar and I was wondering...
  21. ^I didn't realize that the Tokyo SM was the same as the DL one- I thought it was only done that way in DL because they did not have room for a full clone. Come to think of it Splash loads like a normal park though that isn't really a coaster
  22. ^The Thunder Mountains each have two stations- my question being- ONE Station coasters- One Station for all- no switch track, etc.
  23. SM's queue keeps freezing on me- its happened several times. Also I don't seem to be able to get enough of a queue backup on any of the coasters to warrent two stations. In fact why do almost all Disney Coasters have two stations? Even EE has a separate load and unload doesn't it. Is SM-DL the only one that loads/unloads in the same place with only one station?
  24. ^Disney Just let me point out to all that I am not being disrespectful that someone was injured- just that the twisted part of me finds it funny to be injured on a lame ride- while the child side of me loves the frosted side!
