  1. I was planning on making my 1st trip to Cedar Point since 1999 on Gay Day this year. It will be my first Gay Day at this park. Anyone from the general area want to join me or at least meet me at a certain ride for a TPR coaster ride? We tried to do this on coasterbuzz last year for Pride Night at Kings Island but never finalized plans before the event because I started the post late. This time we have over two full months! Let me know! PS: I didn't "Calander" this because I am under the impression that is for official TPR meetings only. TTFN!
  2. Either go up two posts- or go up one and do what it says- again sorry
  3. Sorry my screen froze- didn't mean to post 4 times!
  4. I am from Tonawanda (just south of NF, NY). The main indoor water park that I know of (Great Wolf- same company as Sandusky's) is not on Clifton Hill- its on the other tourist strip about a mile away from the Clifton attractions- I can't think of the district's name of hand. I haven't been to the Falls since my Canadian boyfriend dumped me a week before Christmas '04, but we used to go there a lot! I really liked the interactive dark ride and the simulator at the Great Canadian Midway. They had Fun House Express when we were there. The rides at Marvel were also pretty cool. The WWE ride was never operating when we were there and the shop was lame! The Bird Sanctuary is really cool as well. Riding the Space Spiral during the falls' lighting is cool too. The haunted houses were kinda lame, but the Hollywood Wax Museum was neat It was included in a Combo pass we got. The combo pass was like $15 US and included the Midway, Mini Golf, the Space Spiral, and the museum. Many of the ops offered to let us go again on each even though our pass only included one each. PS: I know that it is not called the Space Spiral- I just don't know what to call it other than the Elevator to Nowhere? I didn't want to say say Observation Tower and confuse people with either the Skylon Tower or the Minolta Building. PSS: Does anyone besides me think that the Minalta Building looks like a giant DQ Dilly Bar?!
  5. Are you counting the 20 or so rides in Kiddie Kingdom that are all near identical? You know the ones that move around in a circle and you ride in a car, a boat, a rocket, a something else. And as far as the post right above- get a job proof reading and let me make my grammer jokes.
  6. I went into Sandusky this past weekend to have lunch with a friend. He drove me over to the Bay opposite Cedar Point. They are doing something to Power Tower (there was something black on it) and they tested the Space Spiral. No sign of any footers from that vantage point! It was first time seeing that park since 8/99 and MF actually looked much smaller in person and Top Thrill Drag Queen even looked lame in person. Correct me if I'm wrong, this should have been a major coaster year right? They fell into that "every other year" groove in the Mid- to late 90's with major coasters/major thrill rides in the even years and family/thrill rides on the odd years.
  7. I have gone to several parks by myself over the years. Way back when I worked there, I used to go to WDW every day I had off and just walk around and talk to people. None of the parks I have been to have a single riders' line, but at the few parks that care about capacity I have often responded to the call for single riders from the ride ops.
  8. Middle of nowhere? SFDL is smack dab in the middle between Rochester and Buffalo- with a combined population of over 2 million within 30 minutes of the park
  9. SF did not BUY DL! It was originally independent and then got bought by Fun Time Parks- I still have a souvenir cup with Wyandott (another joke of a park), Geagua, and Darien Lake on it. Premier then bought Fun Time Parks, then Premier bought the SF name and parks from Time Warner before TW merged with AOL. Premier then changed their DBA and renamed most of their existing parks so the GP would think they had gotten purchased by SF! Other then S:ROS There has not been one addition to that park that stands out as something remotely unique that little itty bitty FunTime could not have come up with on their own- I mean look at Viper- when it opened it had more loops than another other coaster! When Predator 1st opened it was on a Top 10 List (NOT the Top 10 worst as it is now). So not only have Western New Yorkers had to deal with not getting anything new year after year, they have also had to deal with poorly maintained rides! Also bear in mind that almost as much has been removed from that park as has been put in! They used to have a Hydro Force on one of the lakes, I still miss Crazy Quilts, and the lights on the Giant Wheel used to work- on BOTH sides!
  10. The CoasterRadio.com episode that dealt with European parks. A friend told me about that site and then you guys were on it, and then I found pics of Dan and now I am hooked
  11. I hope this is not inappropriate but I once had an orgasm riding Iron Wolf! I'm sure I made some odd noises!
  12. Sorry I gotta say it again- DL's Predator! For those not familair- imagine riding Mean Streak while getting hit by baseball bats while spikes are driving through your fingers- and then they drop you in a jar of picklejuice. Actually Mean Streak isn't so bad- you just have to learn to ride it with your butt- which is by the way where my handle came from!
  13. Who said anything about 1999? And I'd have to agree- its just as crappy now as it always was!
  14. Predator at Darien Lake- when the park is packed and Superman has an hour line you might want to fix your wooden coaster when its walk on! I have never ridden it and not seen someone come off without a bruise! I only ride it when I am with someone who has never been on it!
  15. The Yacht Club Resort (not the Beach Club- I hate their coloring) is my favorite resort from a decor stand-point. Although I have spent some time in their rooms, I have only ever staying in four Disney Resorts (Fort Wilderness, Wilderness Lodge, Disney Village Villas, and the Disney Inn- odd that two of them are gone/changed so you can't stay there). Camping at Fort Wilderness is actually quit fun, except the sites are sand and it hard to erect a tent. It was better when River Country was still there- and does anyone remember the Fort Wilderness Train?! I said erect- hee hee hee
  16. Hmmmm, odd- it looks the same to me!
  17. I have a recipe for a dish called Inverted Nachos- I should sell it to a park with an inverted coaster- that would be such a great name for a nearby snack cart!
  18. ---deleted--- Aparently they can restrict our rights and put us down but can't take a joke---
  19. I can't see Cedar Point on this list! There are so few places where you can actually tell you are along the water. Plus they have ripped out far too many trees. The old west village used to be my favorite part of that park but they ripped out so many trees to put in Millenium Force. Plus its interesting that that park is the 2nd or 3rd oldest in the country and they have nothing to show for it!
  20. I disagree- I like yellow coasters (granted they are not as good as yellow cake). I personally don't like black and am glad SFDL painted the Viper Green! The funny thing about this post that I see now is that we will probably never know the actual answer
  21. Aren't Mack & Huss the same company?
  22. I was at an interview today and one of the magazines in the lobby had an ad for a financial company that keeps "you on track." The picture was a bright yellow B&M coaster with purple stand-up trains- any ideas what this would be?
  23. When I worked at the Paddleboat Excursion @ CP I used to tell a joke about Iron Dragon- "I don't why its suspended- it was never bad."
  24. I only get to pick ONE- but its a tie for me between Big Bad Wolf and Wonderland's Vortex with its "high off the group banked turn-around thingy." Vortex is my favorite coaster at Wonderland (which isn't saying much).
