BrownStreak replied to BrownStreak's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Its currently on page 3 of this forum under the heading White Lightning- if you download it- it downloads as oldie_160- which is why it was so hard to find -

Drop into a canyon? [NL]
BrownStreak replied to BrownStreak's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
The one I am trying to find had a regular length train on it -
Someone on these forums posted a really neat NL wooden coaster where about half way through its run it dropped down into a canyon and then near the end relied on a 2nd lift to pull it up towards the station. It is one of my favorite NL coasters and I was going to show it to a friend recently but I could not find it amongst the 100's of NL coasters I have in my files. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Like the name or what post it was in?

Disney expanding into Canada?
BrownStreak replied to larrygator's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I could see them buying Ontario Place- they already have that cute little themed log flume that could be changed into Splash Mountain and that place does have some nice landscaping, something that looks a bit like the Epcot Ball and room to expand. -
All I know for certain is the I am going to CP with the CSU-Accounting Association/Beta Alpha Phi and my roommate and I are going to Waldameer and on one of my trips down to Columbus I'm going to the Zoo/Water Park. Other than that I would like to finally make it down to Dollywood and I would love to visit Chicago this summer and hit SFGA

Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread
BrownStreak replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't quite get where this coaster is- I see Italian Job- but I don't know where that is either- it was added after I was there last. I went to the park about once every two weeks in Summer 2004 I think- can someone tell me where this is in relation to what was there then? -
Hersheypark Announces Fahrenheit!
BrownStreak replied to Meteornotes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I haven't been to Hershey Park since I was a kid though I have seen it on the Travel Channel and through pictures on this site. I hope to get there this summer or next. I am looking for a pre-ternship at a park somewhere. Anyways, before I saw these pics from the construction update I never realized how many "tall" buildings are right up next to the park. Because at ground level in many pictures you can't tell. But in a few pictures there was a large building that looked like an old high school and a few other 5-8 story buildings. There was also a 1960's 1970's looking building that has to be over 10 stories- never noticed this before. I didn't realize how urban the immediate area was- or are my eyes and perspective deceiving me? -

A question on Kennywood and the maps- when did they add that skyride to the upper parking level? My favorite free attraction at the park! -
Robb, Elissa, & Kristen's Epic Holiday Adventure
BrownStreak replied to SharkTums's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
B&M still feels like such a "new" company but I was just thinking- Kumba is now 14 or 15 years old which means Batman is 16 and Iron Wolf is even older. It has finally happened- we have members on the boards which are younger than B&M coasters! I feel old now! -

Okay my first thought was "Man that would kind of suck if you were taking a Princess Cruise because it is more adults oriented and then a Disney Cruise ship pulls up behind you in port." Then however I was thinking.... "Dude! Is that Disney ship following you! It was visable when you left port, visable here, and then again in Mexico." -

For what its worth- if anyone on here has any interest in coaster/theme park history: Viper at DL was the first coaster to feature five different inversions when it opened in 1982. There was a bit of controversy in 1990 when SFMM opened their arrow looper with the same name- who would have thought that within 10 years both parks would be owned by the same company...

I was at Australia's Wonderland in January 1989 and I thought I remembered there being a looping coaster as the pictures above it says that one opened in 1992. I seem to remember making the "joke" that since we were in Australia the coaster started upside-down and when it went through the loops it went right-side-up. -
Seaworld Orlando Has "Big news"
BrownStreak replied to dewthedew's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^Well you know in an alternate universe EPCOT stands for the Experimental Pornographic Community of Tomorrow. Think about it- you can add the word "sexual" to the name of all of the original pavilions. -
Seaworld Orlando Has "Big news"
BrownStreak replied to dewthedew's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I hate to bump a topic that hasn't had anything recent on it but does anyone know when this park is supposed to open? the Sea World website and Aquatica's both say "March 2008." I am planning on possibly taking a non-Disney Spring Break Orlando trip in the 2nd full week of March. I plan on buying one of those Uni-IOA-Sea Flex Tickets- but once this park opens those prices go up $40 plus another $20 to add Busch Gardens. -
Carowinds New Ride Names
BrownStreak replied to Milkchan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If it didn't make me think of a sedy LA sex club Nighthawk would be a cool name but Flight Deck doen't even sound like a coaster name- its sounds like something stationery. Maybe something like Comando, Aviator, Blast (a coaster name I use frequently in RCT), Fuel, or maybe since they are naming Borg after a seedy gay sex club hey should rename Top Gun the Cockpit (hee, hee). -

Nighthawk? Why are they naming a coaster after a seedy gay sex club from the 1990's? -

^I rode it in my freshman year of college (the first time 'round) and I have to say that I really liked it! It was like the Rocket Jets updated. I also thought that the way you loaded from inside the circle was kind of cool! -

^After posting that someone told me they thought that the creators of the cult classic H. R. Puffin Stuff had created an indoor theme park somewhere and that there was a pinball ride there. Don't quote me, but I think that this would have been Sid and Marty Kroft. -

DUDE! Up in the Intamin catalog they listed a Pinball ride! That sounds so kewl! Were any of those ever built and if so where are they (were they) and are there any left? That sounds so neat! Sounds like something I would have put in my hand-drawn parks years back before they started getting perverted.
