Taking about how good or how rough this coster will be at this point is absolute nonsense, right ? -

Although the coaster isn`t finished yet...I can`t help but feel I`m looking at a legend here, one of the best coasters ever. Honestly...everything else would be a surprise for me. This thing will rock ! -

So two more looks at this surprising overbank before the last turnaround. Those 772 meters seem to be incredibly action packed (Source : Coasterfriends) -

Wow...just wow. If it really goes directly from the inverting drop into a tunnel/cave...then over the airtime hill...then INTO the souvenirshop...then into the immelmann...oh yesss...could probably be one of the best opening sequences of any coaster -
Europa Park Discussion Thread
GeorgeT replied to Ultracoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, the testruns with steel wheels were done just to see how Wodan is running in the wintertime with very low temperatures AFAIK. And yes, they changed (just) the side wheels to steel, while the main wheels are still polyurethane (during the summertime). I heard a lot of peole saying they never experienced a coaster getting SO (!) much faster the longer its operating....that`s why I asked if it`s a "typical" GCI thing. If became rougher...but alot better IMHO -

Talking about intensity at Europa : Wodan is still getting more and more intense (faster) with every month that it`s running. I think in the late afternoon or evening Wodan is easily Europas most intense coaster by now. So what I ask myself is : What about other GCIs like Goldie for example. Are they all getting MUCH faster over the years...or could it have to do with Wodans special polyurethane wheels ? Anyone an idea ? Because Wodan had such an extreme development that I ask myself how crazy other GCIs are getting who are already intense when they open to the public ? -

The little park called "Familienpark Pillersee" opened Austrias biggest rollercoaster so far...the custom Zierer family coaster called "Big Bang" ! Length : 530 meters Heigth : 22 meters Speed : 65 km/h Forces: Max. 3,7 G Seems to have some nice forces and turns for a family coaster Some onride and offride shots...bad quality, hope this is still of interest : Greeds...GeorgeT

Tripsdrill Discussion Thread

Yep...the MCBRs effect looks a little annoying. Could it be that tripsdrill decided to slow the train down because otherwise it would habe been too intense ? Otherwise I don`t see a sense in slowing it down there...it not THAT fast when entering that brake ! BUT the first half looks brilliant IMHO -

The train totally stopped in the MCBR. Looking at the whole layout this thing will probably be much faster during the second half of the layout later... -

As tripsdrill seems to be a littlebit unshure where to put the minimum height requirement for the little ones...here`s actually a photo of the first testruns. Here`s a very little one right before launching...the expression in the eyes says it all (Source : Coasterfriends) -

Gonna post a few more pics of Karachos train....well just because it`s awesome Don`t expect testing too soon...this bird will stop any further progress ...while this little tripsdrill pig is still hoping for the testruns to begin soon and watching what`s going on ... -

It`s good to know that this thing will have no OTSRs. If it`s unavoidable that Eurofighters are getting "a little" rough over the time, then at least the lapbar-only restraints will probably prevent the ride from getting too uncomfortable... -
Alton Towers Discussion Thread
GeorgeT replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Can we talk about something different than the double lifthill thing now ? I think we all agree that this is probably a very good coaster. Great So...what I am still asking myself is : Would Alton risk "The smiler" to become rough over the years ? Would they ? Do they ? I mean most of the EF like coasters are much shorter with only a few inversions. But what if the smiler will be getting as rough as for example saw over the years ??? This coaster could easily become horrible if Alton don`t manage to keep it smooth, right ? I really do hope Alton thought about that carefully....otherwise they would have been VERY shortsighted ! I have no doubt this thing is great now....but I really doubt it will be fun in a few years. -
