SeaWorld Rehabilitates Sea Turtles
netdvn replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It’s great that Sea World is helping out the injured sea turtles. I hope they recover quickly! And thank you Robb, for bringing the turtles back! I was beginning to miss them after they were removed a while ago. -

Woah! The park looks incredible. The Chinese really knows how to build a great looking theme park quickly, even if the theming is made of cheap material. -

The park looks good, but you might need to add some buildings around the stations/trees. -

The slide towers are much bigger than I expected. The mountains provide a nice background as well. -

The dark side of Dubai
netdvn replied to Zero One's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm not surprised considering the fact that Dubai is growing at a rapid pace and they have to recieve their labor from somewhere. The laborers have to live somewhere so shantytowns are built around the city for the workers. -

SeaWorld Orlando (SWO) Discussion Thread

^ SFMM is probably getting two new major coasters for probably the same reason SFGAdv got two huge new coasters back to back a few years back. And SF has been investing into a lot of smaller parks that normally didn't recieve much a few years ago (SFSTl and TGE). Now back to Manta, the ride looks amazing! If this succeeds, maybe my home park will be getting a fourth B&M sometime soon. -

After looking through my stash of junk I uncovered a Euroburg 08 VA Resident Fun Card, expired last year. Any offers? -

netdvn replied to disneygurlz2s's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ SF doesn't have the money to invest in 20 new coasters so instead they upgrade their older rides by giving new life to them. It kinda like the Disney parks and all the rehab that their rides go through. And why not improve on an already good coaster? Like RCT, repainting a ride and upgrading it with a new soundtrack/adding theming causes the GP to think its a new coaster, thus flock to the park. -
^ The proof could be in the pudding, but I'll have to go check. I've done some surfing on other random coaster sites and I've read that there were problems with the lift supports, that they weren't strong/stable enough. Personally if they were to include a heartline roll on the lift, it wouldn't be Maverick's because I find it hard to believe CP would keep leftover Intamin track from three years ago still in storage. It would probably be manufactured in by Maurer Sohne. I also think its too late in the construction process to be able to fully modify parts an incomplete ride. Chances are its really just a support problem.

^ I totally agree with you! The name isn't too bad and the logo looks FAR better than CF's boring businesslike logos. The name could've been MUCH worse anyway. After reading the interview, the new owners seem to be focusing more on family attractions and getting their name out. I have a feeling this park does have a chance with the new owners.

The Brochure/Map Trade Topic
netdvn replied to Reality15's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Sounds interesting. Once I find an envelope and a stamp, I'll just need a name and address to send the brochures (via PM preferably). I'll try to pick up some leftover 08 Busch Euro brochures if any local businesses still have them in stock. If not, I'll try to stock up on 09 brochures. -
No, I've never even taken apart a computer ever. Do you have a computer that's older than 5 years?

Dan's Theme Park Artwork Update Part 5 Six Flags over Northwest Of the original lands that opened with the park in 1975, only Six Flags Street, Spain, Britain, France, and the USA remain. In 1976, Washington and Oregon were merged to form Northwest Territory and most of the original Oregon area was turned into the Canada section. In 1990, the Russia area became Siberia and featured snow-themed rides. 1996 as part of Superman Fighter Coaster's opening, part of the USA and Great Britain area was converted into Metropolis Park, which became DC Comics Plaza in 2001. 1999, a small part of the Northwest Territory, Spain, and France area became Looney Tunes Boomtown. 2010, a Wiggles World is possibly in the works. ...More to come soon! This sign has been sitting in front of the park for over 30 years. The coaster in the background is the new Batman - Dark Knight. This is basically an old-meets-new shot. I did not include the other two flags in this shot. The observation tower - called the Lighthouse has been a major park icon since the park opened. One of the midways overlooking Night Wolf (Wood Coaster) and Dizzy Devil (Tilt-a-Whirl) Close-up of Superman Ultimate Escape and the original park logo. -
