  1. I'm SO over school right now...
  2. Wow! I haven't seen pics of the Universal Dubai arch... Maybe I was wrong about Universal canceling plans to build a Dubai park. ^ Of course the yellow track isn't going to Singapore (or we would've seen pictures of a gigantic yellow B&M coaster under construction). I was just comparing the progress of Universal Dubai to Universal Singapore... IIRC, Ferrari World isn't exactly located in Dubai, but F1 Race Track?? - There really hasn't been much info about the yellow track aside from what type of coaster it is. - Doesn't B&M have a plant in Europe which covers European countries and the Middle East while the American plant covers East Asia and North/South America. If the yellow track was to go to Dubai, wouldn't the track be manufactured in Europe?
  3. Actually both Tidal Waves are currently in Kentucky... Gurnee's Tidal Wave is still running while its sister coaster is being used as parts IIRC. AW bought Greezed Lightnin' brand new, although I guess it doesn't help that both Gurnee and Santa Clara Tidal Waves were named Greezed Lightnin'. Errors aside, Shane's comment regarding Greezed Lightnin' just gave me some inspiration... With SFKK becoming waterpark only, they should move the old Tidal Wave/Greezed Lightning back to Great America and move Chang to Missouri. This would give SFGAm a "brand new coaster", bring people through the gate, and keep another classic Schwarzkopf from possibly going to the scrapyard. The only problem I see with moving a Schwarzkopf and setting it back up again would be maintenance, but KY's Greezed Lightnin' uses parts from its sister coaster, so that problem is solved (although it's only a temporary fix)... But if they buy out AW's old Greezed Lightnin' the coaster's life could be extended a bit more. This would also give SFSTl a brand new signature coaster..
  4. ^^ Is Universal Dubai even being built right now? I highly doubt this coaster is going to Dubai anytime soon because none of the Dubai theme park projects have really gotten off the ground including Universal Dubai. In contrast, a lot more work has been going on around Universal Singapore than Dubai...
  5. A few weeks ago, there was an announcement posted here about a brand new park in China getting a B&M Flyer next year. I'm gonna try to find it and post it here... The Flying Coaster abbreviation is LC...
  6. ^ A gaming console is essentially a computer that is dedicated to playing games. A regular computer is dedicated to doing multiple tasks: running software, playing games, surfing the Internet, watch movies, etc... over an operating system. The PS3; however is dedicated to playing games and only playing games. Sure you can go online, run an operating system, and play movies, but the PS3's main focus is games. Let's give another example... A Commodore 64 is an example of a computer. Although it has its share of games, the C64 is designed run other software applications as well. In contrast, the Atari 2600 and the NES are both game consoles because both are computers designed to play games and only games.
  7. I have to totally agree with you on that. The recording industry focuses too much on making money and will go great lengths to alienate its userbase to make a quick buck... My suggestion, use video game tracks. - Most video game companies don't care whether or not you use their music so you don't have to worry about whether or not the music gets removed. - There are plenty of amazing tracks/remixes out there that you can use. Franchises like Donkey Kong Country and Castlevania have plenty of incredible atmospheric tracks while franchises like Mega Man have amazing, retro-sounding tracks. There are hundreds, even possibly thousands of beautiful video game tracks that you can use. - Video game music isn't well-known and could use some more exposure. You could also use the music provided by YouTube, but chances are they don't have the music you want for your video. PS: One way you can find out if the track you used is legit is if the video has a pop up that links to a website where you can purchase the song (Amazon and iTunes), your video is safe from muting.
  8. HOLY CARP! The huge lift structure looks BEAUTIFUL! I can't wait to head up to KD next year to ride that thing. Dan "That wasn't a typo"
  9. I wasn't bashing Thunder Lakes. In fact, the park is amazing! It looks like you spent tons of time and effort making that park perfect and it really showed. However, somebody posted before that every time you post a new screenshot of this park, a new standard is set for RCT parks on TPR. From the detailed waterslide towers to the parking lot, and even the hallways inside the hotel, the park is incredible. It looked like you took the amazing attention to detail and skill for cramming tons of rides into a small space while keeping the beauty of the park/rides intact, and took it to a whole new level. Most people wouldn't put this much detail into their parks like you have. Maybe I should've worded my comment differently. ...Anyway, I apologize if I hurt your feelings. - Dan "Keep it up! I can't wait to see more."
  10. Atlantic City rules... But while its stormy and rainy up here, its nice and sunny back home.
  11. I have to take a test at least once a week.. Nuff said...
  12. First of all, the weapons used were a .357 Magnum and a FN Five Seven, not standard issue. He bought these. He was not given them. I believe this guy was a sleeper cell, got rank, then did what he wanted too. What do you mean by "sleeper"? The guy posted anti-American comments online where the world could see, had contacts with Al Quaida, and strongly voiced his opinions against the war as well as America in general. I even heard on the news that people in his own company wouldn't trust him if he were deployed with them. If I lived/worked on base and found out that one of my coworkers was making comments like these, I would be suspicious. Since he posted this online, I'm surprised the military hadn't stepped in and done something about this earlier. But that's just me... Is the government allowed to take private weapons if the person carrying them has the potential to threaten national security?
  13. As an artist, I'm impressed with your artwork! I've noticed that your artwork has improved greatly since 1997. I've made plenty of park maps before, but I've found them to take up a lot of time and effort. Clearly you're extremely skilled at making maps! You should follow everyone else's advice and send them to a design firm or Hersheypark.
  14. ^ Yeah, but you work at the park, so you don't count whether or not you can ride the coasters every day. However I live next to three B&M coasters so I can ride them every day.
  15. Donkey Kong Country - This is one of my new favorite platformers. Graphics - Graphics look totally awesome! Gameplay - Wow! Music - Greatest gaming soundtrack of all time Difficulty - Sorta tough This game rocks!
  16. ^ Honestly, I'm not sure... I consider it an Aquatrax because of the way the riders are seated.as well as the water-based theme. However, everyone classifies rides differently. And thanks for the compliment.
  17. Miniland is 100% complete... I'm working on a few more projects at the time... I'm posting close-ups in this update... Complete overview of the entire park. I'm working on another new park among other projects... Wave Runner - Intamin Aquatrax (based off of Jet Rescue at Sea World Austrailia) Ryu Vengeance overview... B&M floorless (based on Drachen Fire @ BGW). Whirl and Rodeo back half... Mooonshine River - Intamn flume (based on Shoot the Rapids) Rodeo - GG woodie with station flyby Shurieken - Vekoma Stingray
  18. Just my 2 cents... - This guy's a pacifist and strongly opposes war. Yet he joined the military against his parent's wishes I believe before 2000. - When the war in Iraq broke out, he tried to get out of the military, but wasn't able to. - He's made it known that he hates the war in Iraq and wants America to pull out. - For the past few months he posted anti-American comments on blogs, chat rooms, and message boards. He made threats of suicide bombings, shootings etc all over the Internet. - The military told him he was going to be deployed. Why is this guy still in the military? Why did they give him access to weapons? Why were they deploying him? He not only posted anti-American comments on the Internet, but he stated that he was against the war. I don't get it.
  19. Woah! Those look great! I was gonna say that the earth tones weren't that bad, but after seeing the new tube colors, I've changed my mind. The new colors work great with the ride... Although I haven't commented that much I love this park! You've put so much work and attention to detail into this. The parking lot, the slide towers, the lazy river, the hotel, the amazing buildings all look incredible! Compared to your previous park, WOW!
  20. Sky Rocket >>>> Flight Deck The name isn't bad at all... In fact, IMO the name suits the ride very well. Yeah they could've come up with something a little better, but the name is far better than CF's method of giving generic ride names.
  21. ^ It looks like you're using a camera to take pics, which has a tendency to blur close ups. Do you have access to a scanner? If so, is the paper too big to fit?
  22. Why can't I log onto Facebook! GAH!
  23. ^ I actually grabbed the pic through my Facebook account (which has a tendency to resize pics). The original is actually MUCH bigger & and clearer. TPR wouldn't let me upload a pic in GIF or BMP format because it was apparently "too big" so I had to convert the file to JPEG. I'll post close ups and better quality pics later... And thanks for the comments - Dan
  24. Just heard on the radio that the parents are just looking for attention and publicity. They apparently wanted their own reality show and pitched a whole bunch of stuff to a bunch of different networks... The dad has his own YouTube channel where he makes rants and shows homemade video of him and his children doing dangerous things. We really need to stop giving this guy attention. Maybe he'll go away...
  25. 1. Bolliger and Mabillard is a business. In order to cover the losses that Busch has in this apparent exclusivity contract, Busch would have to pay for a lost sale on each of its coasters. Considering the fact that B&M coasters aren't cheap, making a contract that would cover the cost of a lost sale would probably not be feasible without losing a large amount of money on Busch's part. 2. Coaster companies include different coasters in package deals in order to increase sales. In fact regular companies do this all the time as well (coupons). What if Intamin made a package deal (maybe a buy one get one half off) with I305 and Shoot the Rapids? Clicky As you can see, Millennium Force cost $25 million dollars when it first opened and chances are that price has gone up over time. 3. Or maybe CF gave Kings Dominion an offer for a B&M hyper. KD saw that CP was getting an Intamin ride and they were wondering whether or not there was an Intamin option. Considering the fact that Intamin coasters are some of the highest rated rides in the world compared to B&M hypers, KD opted for an Intamin. Since KD is one of CF's bigger parks, CF believes they can pay off a giga coaster, and decides to go through with the deal. Agreed! CF has worked with Intamin many times before and Intamin has delivered a successful product (TTD, MF, Maverick). So what's wrong with going to a company that has delivered a successful product to parks all over the world? On top of that, you get rides like Ge Force, Bizarro, Storm Runner, Balder, etc... Yeah Intamin has its bugs, but that's what you get for pushing innovation. Probably the same reason why CF has decided not to plop B&Ms into all their other parks. Or maybe because they just plopped a B&M coaster (slightly used) not too long ago... Back to SFA... Compared to other major SF parks (Great Adventure, Great America, Magic Mountain), SFA is small, so SF decided not to add big coasters to the park. They added big rides in the past (SROS/Batwing) and those coasters brought in the crowd that SFA doesn't really want. Instead they opt for a more family-friendly option, building waterslides. B&M coasters are big, expensive, and chances are, SFA cannot pay off the ride because SFA is a smaller park. Where? Which page? I think I lost it! Anyone can post information online and call it truth. For example, I can say that I know all the higher ups of every single park in America, and I can confirm that every single park in the US is getting an Aquatrax, but without proof, there will be skeptics that will be on your back. I don't care if you know the guy that owns SF and CF or your mothers second cousin twice removed and related to the Dippin Dots guy told you that Busch Gardens has a contract with B&M. I'll stay on your back until you can provide solid proof like a link to a legit news article or (legally or accidentally) leaked info, etc...
