  1. Picture 3, for sure. You must have a really good camera if you could zoom in that much and still have that level of detail. Or that squirrel is drugged 'cause it let you get that close. Still awesome though. Great job though.
  2. ^Only a handful of Boomerangs have been built this decade, well new ones at least, and the last one I can find that had a price on rcdb, was Boomerang Coast to Coaster. Found here. It cost $4 million in 98 USD, but I don't know how much that would be presently. I would say roughly $8 million. It never occurred to me really that most new boomerangs being built are transplants.
  3. ^I would agree in that they are two completely different experiences. X2 is awesome that you enter the drop blind and then go face first, but that experience also only lasts for a split second it seems like which is a bummer. The thing I like about dive machines is that you can be feet from the track, with only a restraint holding you in, being dangled 200+ feet above the ground. They are both great experiences though, and I certainly love X2, SheiKra and Griffon.
  4. Why did they move trims from the bottom of hills to the middle of hills? And forgot paying for the first ride, ill be the first to pay to climb the stairs to reach the trims! Sign me up!
  5. Wow! It has been a long while since a coaster has been posted here and this was a treat to come back to! Positives: -Supports! You did awesome work with making the supports. My only concern is when you go down to the 2 bar track style, that you could use a couple more supports then. No biggie though. -Layout. You had a great choice of elements from the launch, to the inversions and the airtime. Great job. -Smooth. Overall it was a really smooth coaster. Not too many pumps and not too many under/over banked turns. Besides a couple minor tweaks here and there to get 0 lats, it was awesome! Negatives: -It might just be me, but I felt that the immelmann felt and looked really weird. I mean, from the plans it looks heartlined, but upon actually riding it, it didn't fell like it. It isn't a problem though. -It just kind of seemed to drag towards the end, but not really. Just kinda. Overall, this was a GREAT coaster. Very good job and I look forward to riding more of your coasters in the future.
  6. Positives: -I liked the launch and the lift hill, it was like the best of both worlds. -The elements. I think you had every element ever built on a coaster on one coaster. -Trackwork. It wasn't the smoothest in the world, but it also wasn't too pumpy or anything. See the negatives though. Negatives: -The speed. The launch was very forceful but then you also had trims and tires everywhere. Brakes have to be on straight sections of tracks, and having tires at the tops of hills is just very unrealistic. -Banking. You had some high lateral forces in places. This can be fixed with some minor tweeks of the degree of bank. -The layout. All the elements just seemed so forced. You also had very long blocks for an otherwise high capacity coaster. Overall this was a pretty good coaster, so you have done good. Just consider those tips and you will be a superb NL-er.
  7. I do not know if it just my computer or what, but I love windows 7 but the latest version of firefox does not like to run. Anyone know anything about that, or have advice to have it stop freezing so much?
  8. How does it have a daily ad revenue of roughly $90.00? And I dressed up as a Millennium Force train, and the back of my train said "I <3 Intamin" except I forgot the "t" in Intamin. Oops.
  9. This park looks awesome, you have done a very great job so far. Any chance you would post the layouts of EE and the Dive Machine? Keep up the great work.
  10. To name a few... -The rebirth of the Dive Machine and the boom of vertical and beyond drops. -The break of the 100 mph barrier. -The closing of Geauga Lake's theme park. I think in the next decade, we can expect to see... -The rise of Mack. -And Vekoma. Yeah, I said it. I am all for giving this company a try with their new track style and trains a la Battlestar Gallactica. -Great, and record setting, coasters built outside of the US. I say this with Dubai and China in mind. -Significant changes in the CF and SF chains. I just can't see CF carrying their debt load and sliding by, unless they are somehow more elusive than Six Flags. -Jordan (myself) in the industry! Bam!
  11. There is a foot and a half worth of snow outside, and here I am sitting in class. Gimme a break Colorado.
  12. Check that out! Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is on South Park!
  13. ^It is being held up by guide wires right now on both sides. So it is in good hands. UNLESS of course it is being held up by Intamin cables. Then there is no guarantees it'll be left standing, or santa won't be shot out of the sky.
  14. I mean, I just googled "tree growing out of rock" and got this. Anyways, I am fine with the foliage the way you have it, the custom supports (now that they are complete!) and your ride choices. The only thing that I am not a fan of is the huge midways in use. I guess I would like to see some buildings (^Archy?) or just something to spice it up a little. Not bad though, I think you are doing a great job.
  15. I spy with my little eye, a custom supported coaster with TWO regular supports left! Tisk tisk. Just playin' Matthew, but kind of not really.
  16. I just downloaded Windows 7, but have yet to install it for a single reason. Can someone answer this question. When you install Windows 7, does it erase all your files that you have or will they transfer over? Thanks!
  17. ^^Doing rides, games, shows, marketing?? ^I have heard about programs like that, but with companies slashing costs left and right, it just seems a little less likely now at least. I guess we will see right? I completely agree with you though that experience can be just as valuable as more pieces of paper, and that it would be worthwhile to at least get some experience before an MBA to relate back. Thanks for your advice!
  18. ^^Would you just suggest any industry or what? Would it be possible to just work my way up the theme park ladder, then use that experience and money to do my own thing? ^That is what I am leaning towards, I will just have to see how both unfold though and which each offers. What would be a "sell" to you that would get you at each park? You're my age, are you doing anything in the industry? Again, thanks for your help, and I look forward to what other people have to suggest about both the major and the job. Thanks.
  19. Looks great, Matt! I think your train is absolutely brilliant! I can't wait to see you complete this project and that you come up with a sweet layout for it. Keep up the great work, the finished working model will be awesome and all your hard work will payoff in the end. Great job again.
  20. Did you by chance feed the sting rays? 'Cause that is my second favorite hobby behind coasters.
  21. I'm in, I'm in, I'm in!! I am very much looking forward to this trip!
  22. How many people are you willing to allow on Europe trip? Just out of curiosity. And then how do we get from Italy to Netherlands? Will we drive NW through Switzerland? So excited!
  23. Falling-there is not "catch car" or whatever it is called. You did miss out on Scorcher though, I really enjoyed the coaster actually. How did you like Goliath?
