  1. 55% (Dixie). Right on the Mason-Dixon Line All of my family is from Southern Ohio or West Virginia, so I'm not surprised that I'm slightly redneck.
  2. Kickers are listed when their perfomance does not match their money, which is why Vanderjagt is listed.
  3. It's tough to blame Chad Pennington for anything. If his offensive line would block better, he wouldn't take many vicious hits that injure him.
  4. Six Flags over Your Mom.
  5. The sad thing is, so many people complain, but it's absolutely the right move. Prior to last season, Cedar Point had only one major thrilling non-coaster ride, Power Tower. Power Tower is a lesser drop tower, it's not nearly as thrilling as many. Cedar Point's glaring hole was the lack of really thrilling non-coasters, and two in two years is definitely a step in the right direction. -Bryan "resented CP for having just coasters a few decent flats" Wood
  6. Wow...I guess I'm not a picky eater like I thought I was. For me, I can't eat cheese. I'm lactose intolerant, but for whatever reason, even the smell of any sharp cheese makes me gag. I can eat mozzerella (granted that it's with something else like Pizza or Baked Rigatoni), but that's about it. -Bryan "Supersize Me was a joke of a movie" Wood
  7. Yawn. We all knew this was coming. The BIG news is that they're dropping admission to under $40. It's about time. When it's $200 for a family of 5 to get in, plus big parking and overpriced food...it's time to go to Kennywood. -Bryan "drove longer to Kennywood instead of a shorter drive to CP when he lived in Ohio because Kennywood was more fun, relaxed and affordable" Wood
  8. That's my list, only I'd add in any German Sausage platter at Festhaus at BGW. I LOVE, love, love! going to Small Fry's at Kennywood and getting the Chicken Strip and Potato Patch Fries basket, and then a few cups of hot gravy to go with it. Man, that is some good stuff. I miss that place so much. -Bryan "ACE'er at heart...literally....just no fat" Wood
  9. I need to make a trip to Orlando this summer. That just looks awesome.
  10. While I've never been there, I'm always glad to see an old park be saved. From 10/29's Wichita Eagle: Stanley and Margaret Nelson have finally sold Joyland, the aging amusement park at 2801 S. Hillside. The new owner has plans to renovate the park, Margaret Nelson said, and it could open as soon as next spring. She said the buyer, who is not local, has asked to remain anonymous until later. The sale will close Dec. 15. She declined to disclose the sale price. It was marketed for $1.7 million. The Nelsons have owned the park since 1973 and have worked there since 1949. So who is this anonymous buyer? Is it an indivdual or chain? I know that Great American Family Parks has been looking into buying some smaller venues, but for $1.7 million, an individual could easily purchase.
  11. What? No love for the Double Dragon 1 or 2 theme songs? They're stuck in my head some 15 years later.
  12. Their coaster was operating...but then it died. When the new one ships in, I plan on making a visit. At least I have the Arizona State Fair on Thursday...I can't wait to finally ride the KMG Tango and Experience! -Bryan "Who also needs the kiddie credit at Enchanted Island in Encanto Park to get all 4 of the AZ credits...but I'd rather drive 7 hours to ride New Mexico Rattler again then drive 45 mins to Queen Creek" Wood
  13. The thing that is great about that movie is that it's real. It pulled no punches and dealt with racism in the harsh way it plays out in society. Also, I wanted to smack the living crap out of Sandra Bullock in that movie. I just got done watching Unleashed: Unrated Version, which releases this Tuesday (along with Kingdom of Heaven, High Tension, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Kicking and Screaming and Arrested Development Season Two). It was a pretty good movie. There were some excellent action sequences and the plot wasn't that bad at all. Unleashed featured the longest action sequence Jet Li has ever done. I'd give it a 4 out of 5.
  14. "What strange force in the universe forces enthusiasts to dress alike?" I can't answer your question, young grasshopper, but I can recall a visit to Kings Island where I saw a couple wearing matching Cher World Tour shirts and pants. That was so unbelieveably funny. It was obvious the woman had the balls in that relationship.
  15. Peter Griffin to News Anchor Tom Tucker after Tucker asks for porn at Lackluster Video (from the new DVD): Save your money, Tucker. This place doesn't have porn. You know, that really grinds my gears. Where in the bible does it say that a man can't fire off some knuckle-children in the privacy of his own neighbor's living room while his neighbor's at work because I don't have a DVD player? Well, I don't know where it says it because the Bible was way too long to read!
  16. Since sex sells, Geauga Lake decides that a re-themeing of Steel Venom will draw more crowds. After seeing the Carls Jr. Commerical, they create Paris Hilton: The Ride.
  17. Stewie (to one of the prostitutes at Cleveland's house): So, is there any tread left on the tires? Or at this point would it be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway? By the way: http://www.foxstore.com has Volumes One and Two as a bundle for $68. Buy.com has Volume 3 (to be released on 11/29) for $25.98 on pre-order.
  18. Yep, I wrote that. Cliff's was a fun little park. No one ever talks about it much, so I figured I'd write a review and give it some attention that it deserves.
  19. Same with Millennium Force. It was a mistake to me in the thrill department. After the first drop, it doesn't have much excitement whatsoever. On the other side of the park, Magnum is thrilling and fun all the way to the brakes. Obviously, MF was not a mistake from a financial standpoint. CP has more than got it's money worth out of it, and it did put CP into the national conscience more than ever (sadly). -Bryan "CP is the most overrated park in the world" Wood
  20. I think T2 at SFKK may be the lone exception...but that's because they don't know what paint is! I predict the name will be Ronald McDonald's Acid Trip: The Ride. -Bryan "wouldn't mind In-n-Out Burger:The Ride" Wood
  21. Raptor's final turn into the final brakes baffled me before I was even an enthusiast. It's like Claude and Walter ran out of room and had to do something just to get it to fit, like hitting the AutoComplete button on the old Coaster PC game that was made by Disney. Raptor's ending goes from awesome!!!! to oh crap! within a few seconds. Best endings: New Mexico Rattler-flies into the brake run after a helix and airtime hills. Apollo's Chariot-that awesome dip into the trench Big Bad Wolf's dive along the river Phoenix (obvious) Phantom's Revenge (obvious) Mindbender- The helix-dive, loop, tunnel Everyone else has pretty much covered the crappy ones, although I'll throw in SUF at SFoG. In the back seat, you feel the brakes before you even complete the in-line twist.
  22. Straight Pride, bitches!
  23. Kennywood is not a park that would put another hyper in just for kicks. They would make it completely different and unique from Phantom's Revenge. Just look at their three wooden coasters. They're all old woodies, but completely different experiences. Jackrabbit's INSANE double-down, Thunderbolt's smashing laterals, and Racer's hand-slapping closeness are all fun experiences. ...and that's why I love Kennywood a lot more than parks like Cedar Point.
  24. Avalanche is an exciting ride. It has the best pacing of any coaster I've ever ridden. The airtime is great, the laterals are crazy and it's so fast that it's hard to take still photos of it at times. -Bryan "The most challenging coaster I've ever photographed" Wood
  25. It's hot as hell in those two states and there aren't any credits from them in those states worth traveling for. The only ride that's new since they visited here (according to their TR dates) is the Drop Tower at Castles n' Coasters, which actually isn't that bad. -Bryan "Who the f*ck wants to travel to Arizona when it's still over 100 degrees every day" Wood
