  1. Stupid Easyjet and delayed flights Bah! So I missed a lousy credit....am I bothered?.......damn right I am Thanks for posting Divv - looking forward to the rest as and when
  2. Happy Birthday Mike - though it is totally unreasonable of you to still be younger than me
  3. Yep - times have certainly changed in the last hundred years. My Grandmother (99 and fingers crossed 100 in April) has many interesting stories, like back in the day ( c.1925) women were allowed to work but HAD TO give up work on the day they married as she had to. She tells me things relaxed a bit in the 1930's when women were allowed to work even married until they fell pregnant. (don't know about unmarried pregnant women, it's not discussed so I guess there weren't any) I think WW II changed the employment landscape globally, and probably for Disney animators too.
  4. a soup of broth like proportions - looks VERY good. But hey, what is the short shrift given to the barley? - Is it Pearl Barley - is it Hulled? - is it pre-soaked to lose all the toxins that may kill you if you don't pre-soak like many other dried pulses or does barley not contain such toxins? I think you should add more pictures to include the barley preparation. A good excuse to open another beer at the very least
  5. Obrigado and all that! - nice report, looks like a lot of fun that day also. I see the CBMR appear to have the same male/female ratios as most coaster groups though, then again it is all about the coasters and NOT about hot Brazilian babes I'm hoping to be in Brazil in 2010 also (maybe Christmas 09 actually), so I'll be sure to look up your site and hassle you for some advice nearer the time. Cheers Steve C
  6. Rich - great ending to it all, and I do think the final collection of 'Rich pics' deserve a collective noun (you know like a murder of crows, a pride of lions etc etc) I propose: A clinic of Hot Fuzz
  7. Rich - the giant cable car experience says Ngong Ping on the ticket, don't know if that is the name of the place as well as the experience. The Bubba restaurant fail was truly magnificent, I think the waitress was actually Italian (or of some similar extremely random and to be fair unexpected birthplace). I don't have many life regrets but missing the bungee is up there. Hell and damnation, don't blame me - you are the cop, you should have arrested me or something. I can't believe we were thinking the same thing and only discussed it on the ferry back. Okay you can blame me for not bailing on Disney the next day to go back, but then we would have no awesome onride pic. Maybe if TPR trip back out say in 2013 then there lies the challenge. (oh - holy crap I'll be 50 then). Dude - enjoyed your pithy captions as ever.
  8. ^well I'm rather hoping, and like the plastic butterfly, it will be so much better lit up at night
  9. Ah Mikester- I see new glasses would not have helped me so much after all; maybe a look via the hubble would have done the trick. I did get all the food ones though
  10. Therein lies the problem Bob- I'm on abstinence at the moment. (no that was not a mis-type of absinthe). Has I been in my usual haunts I feel sure at least 10 ducks would have been found. Trust you to kick a man when he's down (see I can't even get the quotation brackets to work properly -) Steve - I'm down on my luck right now -C I fixed the quote for you big guy, maybe you should have a drink before you post! - Bob
  11. Hey Mike - sorry for holding things up and for giving me the chance to take part via your PM to get my act together Well I know I do need new glasses and given that everyone else has seen either 6 or 7 then my guess is guaranteed to be wrong but in the spirit of voting for what I see - I see 5 duckies - yes indeed FIVE only. Where is that other duck? - where are those other ducks? Don't forget to post the 'here they are' pics Cheers
  12. Shane your thread needs an inane post - just like this one for no reason whatever but just to say it is awesome and amazing as well as interesting/informative/educational and top 20. Who would have known?
  13. Sweater...????....Jersey...??? -actually it is a Jumper (failing that at the very worst it is a Pullover ) As you were...
  14. Dave IS levitating - truly AMAZING! Jeff - you captured a lot of moments I overlooked because I either a) didn't turn on the camera in time b) had the wrong shutter mode on (same result as a) c) left my camera on the bus! - (no result there then) Get your stitches up asap -they ROCK Cheers SteveC
  15. What no Hooters pics? Did they have the cornfield of zombie mayhem this year? - I ask, just that due to a misunderstanding on the part of Alton management myself and an assorted bunch were actually escorted out* of the cornfield last year before getting half way through so I was looking for some views of the entire experience. Sorry to have missed out on the fun - it even looks like it didn't rain. *we did no wrong of course and were refunded the up charge. Evidently we had scared one of the zombies (uh???) and the supervisor accused us all of being drunk -MASSIVE indignation all round I can tell ya
  16. Is there any way we can get a couple of those revolting SteveC pics OUT of this report?
  17. he never did...probably never will do, but hey - look under the cap Hate to say I find your reports as amusing as ever! Later Steve
  18. Big Mike - I will commit to 9 duckies on this occassion. Cheers
  19. ^I trust you will be going back to check out any additional comments in your favour in due course oh great one!
  20. TEN -it hurt my eyes trying to sort this so I may have seen more than I ought but I'm not guessing again. Good luck everyone who succeeds Edit Damn you BM -just had to go back and check - and I'm still with 10! Maybe duckie escaped when you weren't looking and I have spied him in a pic you were not aware All good fun and I hope I'm right BTW - I was hoping for 11 but I tried and just couldn't get there! Okay second edit - but I have not changed my answer from the first post - but I think I need to add that you MIke are a gladiator amongst men. A true star in the celestial heavens and you have a very large tongue
  21. Hanno - thanks very much for the great updates. Happy memories indeed. The East Coast? - lucky you, have a good time!
  22. The UK government signed an agreement ( c. 2004) allowing UK citizens to be extradited to the US, the agreement was not wholly reciprocal when the finer detail was analysed subsequently, although the spirit of reciprocity was intended in principle. I won't argue the merits of these cases, but I can confirm they are in line with our (UK) current laws and so I'm not too sure where this discussion can go other than into a flame of political 'bad ass'. I do believe that if someone hacked into my works systems I would do my best to have them prosecuted, wherever they reside. I don't think this situation can be compared with matters of international conflict and all the 'separate' issues that that entails.
  23. Same, with a 2nd place steel vote going to Dragon's Fury NERD!!!!!!! Amazing Rich/Larry I agree exactly with your views - especially Rich your observation of Dave (about him being a nerd - he is of course right about 'what's with Rita?) Sadly the UK is very 'wood light' but with some great parks in Europe just a train ride away, and with excellent wood (okay and some BAD) I don't think we can complain too much given the pokey size of our Island. BTW - lets give a shout out to Vekoma (Hi Erik!) and the surprising quality that is Kumali - seriously, I like it! And finally - Shadow Man - are you canvasing opinion for a special project as you have yet to give us your views.
  24. ^ er..not so much although IMO considerably more useful than Bandit
