  1. Yo Robin - I'm keeping an eye out for you on Platform 13 Great to meet you, enjoyed your pics, and thanks for sharing how it is all done. Next time you need to be doing the WHOLE TRIP so go rob a bank or something. Up for a Thorpe run sometime in August?
  2. YAY - Champion stuff Chuck. Also as I was a late arrival for 'sightseeing day' I'm living it through your great pics, thanks!
  3. It was never intended to cover the lift hill - makes sense as it is the signature feature I guess and needs to be seen to attract the masses. Of course it is fair to assume the first drop is off the lift hill- it usually is, but not always
  4. Liking the group pic very much which worked out well in the end after all the 'location scouting' and the buggy gives it extra kudos.
  5. Scottish Steve - LOL at SCOTTISH STEVE Way better than Steve Hawking, but Facebook may have a different take when I post 'A lost weekend in a Travelodge Bar' complete with buckets, Batmobile, prostitots and a Pete Doherty spectacular. Great report Divv. One day, when I remember to take pics other than in the bar, I'll attempt one myself. Oh - no mention of you totally destroying the theming of the brand new no expense spared dark (and yet quite light QUEUE LINE) ride at Legoland. Very Laq of you I think!
  6. Divv - awesome memories and some great pics. Not so keen on 'sweaty me' but glad to see I was trying to tap up babes without armpit hair at the very least. Lou - you tart - OMG you got the Rachel breast I didn't. Damn they were both good I'm sure. And as Karma does - A last pic of Divv - It has his thumbs up for sure - and it is in the style of his update sign off but the question is.......... Whose arm is that?
  7. LMFAO - quality comment dude- I couldn't agree more
  8. there seems to be a lot more blood about the place than I remember. This is probably becuase it is now real blood from all the punters killing themselves and each other with frustration over the delays. No bad thing then! Dooobie on the tricycle never makes a run for the fisrt car so he probably wasn't broken- it is just a show for the guys held for the 45 seconds in the second car dispatch. Just wanted to confirm why getting the second car is way cooler than the first.
  9. Ben's expression in the Random Phantom group shot is a tad out of kilter with all the others. He knew something for sure!
  10. Divv - this is a genuine death threat now and so the correct answer is sorry Lou -the tape spoiled. Lou - Rach was a star, though she did do you over a bit, which only improved her star status even more. Everyone loved Rachel. Send her some loving from the tentacle hand of creepiness, but in a good way.
  11. Holy Batmobile - there I am with the awesome Lou and Rachel (the Awesome Twins). Hell though -I'm sure I was not being as pervy as those strangely elongated arms of mine seem to hint at. What a night, and what a trip....in every sense of the word for sure Oh and Divv -creepy photo shot? - Karma has a slow burn (as you know) I've held back for now, but I'm watching closely Bwahahahaha
  12. ^ if you are looking to meet up with TPR then you got lucky working in the kiddie area. Trust me, a lot of the group (make that everyone) will be piling in there and of course hopefully you could pull some strings to make sure that all things not suitable for adults are available to ride
  13. Shane this is bloody brilliant! I know we (the lucky trippers) and you are sorry you can't make the Scandi trip this year but this is the best reason ever for not making it. I think I'll give Dorothy a call to see if an August visit can be arranged to your awesome waterfest BTW -trusting there is no European Speedo rules on the ticket?
  14. No that was Andy Hine MBE from the RCCGB in the camp sparkly roller coaster shirt. You want one of those shirts don't you Dave!?
  15. No real words describe the Euro Mir package and the party train experience. I guess orgasmic will have to do - oh multiple of course and that was a first I can tell you Divv the sign off pic for each update always make me laugh. -A quality signature indeed. Are we really going to be on another crazy caper like this in a few months?....thank the gods we are. YAY Steve 'looking forward to more CAPERS with added Salmon' C
  16. Mike - I think there may have been too much morphine in your drip as you are double posting. That's not like you at all.
  17. Ed - I totally appreciate how miffed you must have been and how smug we must seem with the pass thing. Shame we didn't run into you during the day as I know Craig still had spares. We ran into Tom but only as he was leaving at the end of the day. Agreed it was a MASSIVE screw up on a scale that I think even Thorpe would be struggling to believe but they did make at least TWO, (that I heard) very specific and also very audible public announcements about a free entry pass for EVERYONE in the park that day, valid for any day this season and how to go about getting it. (Okay I know that may not make much sense to season pass holders, but I'm not so I win again ) When we picked up ours the line for the free pass was at least 30 minutes LOL. I read a comment relating to park operations concerning electrical power issues, and I believe this must have been a factor yesterday also because in all honesty, even with a poor maintenance record, nothing will (I hope) ever beat the scale of failure on, frankly, everything that was meant to move but somehow didn't. Kudos to you for your Alton pass pick up- sell your Thorpe one for a tenner on e-bay or something similar and get some good out of the bad. You will laugh about this in say, the year 2017, I promise.
  18. ^ah in which case they need to put a small hole in one of them so that the weight changes for real as the car goes around and water drains out (is it not sand BTW.... maybe it is a combination?), thus simulating the real life version of cell phones and money flying out of pockets. And maybe put a baseball cap on one of them so it flies off mid course, and have a crash test dummy thrown at the ride simulating someone trying to rescue it and getting killed. You see, the beer is still talking, I am going to fix this problem for good.
  19. With what ended up as an otherwise fun day at Thorpe we hit the pubs (which is always a sensible option) and got thinking how it is that a ride can test so successfully for say 20 days straight then when real people get in it it all goes horribly wrong. I recalled seeing a crash test test dummy car going round and hey presto - beer inspiration. It's all about the dummies. They are all the same. They need to use fat ones and short ones and, and random empty seat combo ones so that the train is not balanced either 'totally empty' or 'totally full of standard dummies'. That way the computers brain is tested like HAL and it will take control of the variables and smooth the whole thing out and run. I love beer logic - it is the answer to everything and it means I am right. It's time to mess with the dummies dummy
  20. Mike - somehow the thought of you performing in a production of Hair, is all kinds of ironic and appropriate. Only Big Mike couuld pull this off for sure.
  21. ^^^though also to be fair we had an EXTREME advantage (thanks Robb) with the ultimate fastpasses. This got us on everything-coasterwise- that was officially meant to be up on the day and multiple opportunities on Saw which would have been impossible within the 90 minute operation. All in all a top day for our group, which we know and are grateful that we got privileged up! On the subject of Saw, I don't want to expand any spoilers by much but I will say this. Two cars are dispatched from the station at the same time. Aim to get on the second one which is held back 60 seconds once you are in the ride proper. All I will say on this is 'better visuals ' Enjoy it when you get the chance everyone - and thanks again to the TPR top man, and everyone in the group for a good laugh. Finally - thanks Thorpe Security for doing your job and escorting out the park the Chav line jumpers, always good to see the system works. (note to self: an ultimate fastpass is official line jumping and affords massive bragging rights without worry)
