The Official East Coast Bash 2011 Thread!
B-RadG replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Absolutely love it ECB at Kings Dominion was one of the greatest days I've had at a park and I'm sure this will be even better since it's at my second favorite park. -
Yes my left middle finger. Do you have any big park trip plans for 2011?
-
Yeah, since when does a company Refuse to do a project? It just seems a little weird to me....I really hope B&M hasn't developed some kind of snobbish attitude towards theme park corporations... You think they would want work in the tough economic times. Anyone else find it weird that both of Universal's Hollywood themed coasters aren't in Hollywood? Hollywood Dream Clone for USH please! (Before you start bashing me, yes I realize this will never happen.) It's pretty common to refuse things... just like when a construction company refuses to submit a bid for a project. B&M was asked to design Millennium Force and refused.

Ugh... I had 2 people in front of me and when the person ran in the entire line did and then it said it disconnected me. Anybody else have this problem? -

According to the little thing they just posted, Mrs. Claw found some new kinds of balls in the closet (my oh my, they're either really innocent or really perverted) and they're replacing most of the current balls with the new ones. Right now, a man is tossing most of the small ones down the chute. -
Uh huh you know what it is, blackandyellowblackandyellowblackandyellow. Steelers fan here. Let's get a ring for every finger, shall we?

I am indeed not, and I know few people who are. Maybe I'm just a greedy jerk but I'd like to keep all of my body and stay dignified after I die.

Damn. Played twice tonight and dropped a clear ball the first time and flat out screwed up the second time. Oh well, I have no life so there's always tomorrow. -
Um hello, let's take a look at the example of another failed park shall we? Geauga Lake: Attendance dropped over years, acquired by Cedar Fair, 2 major coasters (X-Flight and Steel Venom) removed in 2006 and sent elsewhere. Park closed in 2007. If CF had interest in CGA, they could have very well sent one of Geauga Lake's coasters there. They sent one to Dorney, Carowinds, Kings Dominion, Kings Island, Michigan's Adventure, and even to KAT! Face it, Great America hasn't been going anywhere in the past decade. Major coasters are dwindling. A football team is trying to take over portions for other purposes. I strongly doubt CF would want to pump more money into that. Well keep in mind that this is just what SFA was forced to do for years with JJ,they couldn't run it in october due to the noise...which was reduced during the summer months by the foliage on the surrounding trees. That's one month out of a 7-month period. Not 5 days out of a 7 day week. It would operate far less than it ran.

Is it me or was it so much funnier when Snooki was shitfaced the whole time? This whole sobriety thing isn't so great.

Can't wait for Freestyle Music Park New Orleans, Danny -
Yeah I know all about the 2.7L. The engine allows condensation into the oil and the tubes are narrow so it sludges up and kills the engine around 70,000 miles (then again my cousin owns one with 120,000 on it and rarely changes the oil and it runs flawlessly.) It has the 3.2L and 150,000 miles so it shouldn't be too bad. There isn't anything noticeably wrong with it. I would love to keep the minivan but currently it's my mom's and we're not in the market for a new car but I need a car of my own.

I haven't been to many small parks but I'd have to say Family Kingdom is my favorite. It's got a good, classic woodie and it's like a street fair. It's just sitting there in the middle of a sidewalk with a bunch of ghetto rides that are actually fun.

When I was at 7-11 today I saw they had Throwback Doritos. I was compelled to try them but I didn't. I've also seen a ton of throwback cereals at a lot of grocery stores. Throwback Pepsi is really good to me. I love that it has a ton of sugar. Albeit not healthy, great for a sugar rush when I have one once in a while.

I won something I couldn't see exactly what it was but it was either the clear ball or a ball next to it. Totally worth my 7 hours. I'll certainly check the mailbox faithfully the next few weeks. -

I'm in line now... 487 minutes. ArrowCrazy if anybody sees me. -
Interesting... Busch Gardens sent this out Following that are 4 name options and you had to select the most appealing out of Revenge of the Black Forest, Black Forest Turbo, Uber Bahn, and Verbolten. I think that the description of the ride means it's gonna be pretty frickin sweet and personally I prefer Verbolten.

Contradictory to most of the things about Cedar Fair/Paramount said, I think that was a great move. Great for the Paramount parks, that is. Paramount was taking horrible care of the parks (or at least Kings Dominion) and stopped really caring. Cedar Fair so far has done great things across the board for the former Paramount parks (except CGA.) In my opinion, the biggest blunder was Arrow's clumsy fall. After being put in way over their heads by Six Flags Magic Mountain, they suffered with a quickly-ordered and produced ride that nobody had ever conceived before. The result was a ton of bugs and a very delayed debut. After that Arrow just collapsed. Right on the threshold of this decade is when Arrow finally "got it." Tennessee Tornado, opened in 1999, is what Arrows could have been had they still been alive. A loss of a great innovator and mostly awesome ride manufacturer. Some other pretty good blunders were Kings Island firing RCCA and RCCA refusing to hand over the blueprints for Son of Beast, Six Flags as a whole (lot of pointless investment and subsequently dumb decisions,) Geauga Lake getting into the hands of Cedar Fair, Southern Star and SFNO, and quite a few good classic coasters getting a premature boot in the ass.

When I went back during Spring Break the operations were horrible. Gwazi sent two trains on Lion before Tiger dispatched one, Montu consistently stacked all 3 of its trains, SheiKra all 5, and many of the operators stood there texting when they could be working. SeaWorld wasn't that bad they were pretty good with their operations.

I literally just got home from getting my Motorola Droid2 Global. I absolutely love it. My old LG Voyager was a piece of crap (plastic covering on the speaker missing, scratches on the screen, paint missing from a ton of places, charging port snapped off when I plugged it in once)
