One of the stylists for Tron came into my shoe store in July and purchased shoes for an added scene. When I inquired about why they were still filming, the stylist responded with "To make a character from the next film make more sense". It sounds like DIsney is anticipating big numbers and has everything in line to make this its next big franchise. As for the DCA ElecTRONica party, well... Given that it's basically a reworked Glowfest I'll at least get a good chuckle walking through it.

TPR's Middle America and IntimidaTOUR 2010 Trips!
SuperShawn replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I would also like to express my appreciation to every one at Kings Dominion, as well as Robb and Elissa for going above and beyond to put together an extremely fun and well run event for all of us. I had such a blast spending the day at the park, and then ending the day and the Intimidatour on I305 ERT is something I will long remember. And also Robb I hope that the TPR Quest game is something we might see happen at WCB this year, that was priceless to watch. -

In my wallet this year is: Cedar Fair Platinum Pass from Knotts Disneyland Premium Pass Six Flags Xtreme Pass -
Last night I went to see WOC for the 2nd time. I arrived at DCA around 1pm and had to wait all of 2 minutes to get my show pass for the 11:15pm show. Then we had the rest of the day to do as we pleased, bouncing between both parks and getting all the major rides in. If you're one of those people that have to have to be at the very front for a show you'll want to get to the area you need to wait in about 30 minutes prior to when your show pass says to return. But I've noticed at least with the 11pm showings you could wait till 11pm walk up and still find a decent spot with out much problem. As people are let in, they fill all the different levels and spread out. As you may have read they don't cram everyone in like Fantasmic, you get plenty of breathing room. For this show we were on the boardwalk in the blue section, and still had a few people filling in behind us at 11:10 and getting great spots. You can also ignore the you will get wet notices, it was more a "you will feel mist". As for the show its self, after you put aside the fact that there's not a story line and it is just a bunch of classic Disney clips. The show really is awesome, what they have done with this technology is pretty amazing in person. Each segment utilizes the fountains, mist screens, and lasers a bit different, just enough so it doesn't feel like 26 minutes of water being just shot into the air. And I'll also say that the youtube videos don't do justice to this show. It really is one to be seen in person at least once. Do stay till the very end, as the fountains do a little number after the big finale thats kind of fun to watch. Once the show had finished my friend Shane looked at me and simply said "That was way better than what I was expecting" which was my same thought the first time seeing WOC. Given that him and I are not show people at all, we both agreed we would happily watch WOC again and enjoyed what Disney has created. Oh and for those who are confused, Toy Story Midway Mania does stay open through the shows.

The 2010 Adventures of SuperShawn

Day 1 - Gilroy Gardens part 1: Looks like it's going to be a busy day! This year celebrates the 10th year of wonder. I'm guessing magic was already taken. Just walking up to the entrance you can tell Gilroy Gardens is a beautiful park. If garlic and flowers are your thing, you can get hitched at the park. I was lucky enough to get this shot with the best park mascot ever! Lets go frollic through the gay garden and try to find the rainbow connection! Yup, looks like a throne fit for a queen to me. The paddle boat ducks had the longest line in the park. On one of, if not, the best car ride at any park you take the tree tunnel as well as an actual tunnel. Got gas? or need a wash? Boys and Girls I give you driving at it's best. I bet this picture's never been taken before now. you mean quick silver isn't just a clothing brand? Going to be a long wait to get this credit. Quicksilver does some rollercoastery stuff It's actually a very fun ride, the 2nd half is where all the fun happens. While on the Skytrain I got this shot of Shane having way too much fun. -
I too am joining in and creating a thread so I can share my 2010 adventures with everyone here on TPR. 2010 marks my first year of doing my own theme park road trip, as well as a TPR Trip (The Intimidatour). Along with my two major trips I'll post some fun updates from Disney, Knotts and SFMM through the 2010 season. It's going to be a fun season for me as I go to a bunch of new parks, hit 150 credits and do so much more! As these are my very first Photo TR's any feedback on what you like and don't like, want to see more of or less of would be appreciated. Lets start things off with my road trip I took last weekend. After having to work and miss both WCB and BAB this year I was feeling a little left out, so I planned out a 3 day road trip with my friend Shane. Lets find out where Shane and I are headed to first: Starting off on the 101 North, I wonder where we could be going? I bet you'll never guess. Oh look it's Universal! But not today... We're getting on I-5 North huh? Wonder where that could take us. I-5 took us straight into traffic that's where! If you didn't know this is normal LA traffic, which is more frightening than any ride or rollercoaster. After sitting in traffic, we've arrived at SFMM! Oops, guess we aren't stopping there either. We will however stop to be surrounded by Gnats! Seriously I've never seen so many bugs in one place! If you guessed I was going to Gilroy Gardens give yourself a pat on the back. If you guessed wrong, do it any ways! Gilroy Gardens coming soon!

^ I don't know about the crowds, but the 21st is the day of the AAA event. I would suggest either getting a ticket if you have AAA or finding someone who does to really make your day worth it. 6pm-midnight is a private AAA event in the park. Here's a link to the thread talking about the event: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=54615

So today was the big day for me, I put on my TPR Hoodie and headed off to finally ride Xcelerator for the first time. Sadly it was so windy, Xcel was just creeping over the top hat. For most the day the back two cars were not being loaded, and for a while in the afternoon Xcel actually had to shut down due to winds. I still had 6 great rides in the few hours I was at the park and can't wait to ride on a not so windy day. I aslo took very few pictures but thought I'd share some just to remind everyone what Xcel looks like when its actually doing something. Such brave souls in the front seat.... Also Notice anyone familiar? Creeping over so slow even my point and click camera could get a shot
