John, I'm keeping the video I have of you from the way back to the hotel after all the beer in case you ever decide to run for public office. -

Hey Robb - I'm heading to WCB and will be at Cedar Point the following weekend... If I bought a voucher for a season pass, would that be usable for WCB even though I wouldn't have processed it yet? ... And for anyone else: Does anyone know when Cedar Fair switches into that "If you buy a season pass now, it's good for 2014 also" mode? September? October? Thanks everyone! -Matt -

Thanks Hanno - looks like a lot of fun! -
I rode it today as well. To me, it's very bizarre, very very intense (fire dragon level) and surprisingly comfortable. I rode in row two. Will have to come back when it's less crowded to hit row 7. Don't believe whatever Cameron is writing while he sits next to me. A backwards roller coaster to an Australian is probably completely normal.

Loved this cartoon xkcd's What If? about trains and roller coasters

I second Paul's statement about lunch. Never was there a bigger hit or miss menu available I had spent considerable time learning some German for this trip, and didn't bother to brush up on my French. I wish I had -- trying to order lunch was very hard ... I was also really looking forward to Oz'Iris but was let down. Pretty... had potential... snoozer. Thanks again for the great pictures Ken, and I second the thanks to Robb and Elissa for making what was a supremely crowded park bearable with the VIP treatment.

Ken - thanks for these great pictures --- I *loved* this park (except for the Great Flood). Mystery Castle was just awesome as were all of the roller coasters (except for, perhaps, Chain Lift: The Ride)... Also, Scott nailed it when he said the best part of Movie Park was triggering that thing on Van Helsing when Neil walked by. It was basically a re-enactment of the Birdcage --M

TPR 2013 Tours Announced!

I'm hoping to book a flight on a 787 Dreamliner -- seems like both JAL and United fly them to Japan. -

Having ridden Blue Fire (and absolutely loving it, especially the last inversion), I can't wait for this. The last inversion on Blue Fire might be my single most favorite inversion on a roller coaster. Fire Dragon's fakey post-airtime hill inversion-into-helix being right up there too. Where do I send that Scandi trip deposit? There are so many awesome things I can't wait to see and do on that trip, it's kinda hard to contain myself -

I loved this park --- our day there during this summer's TPR Europe tour was amazing, despite the rain. Can't wait to go back and try out whatever they throw in there. -M -
TPR's 2012 China Trip!

I honestly hope you all make it home alive, but based on these pictures, I suspect this is not possible. I prematurely mourn the loss of TPR members. -

I'd also be curious to know about how much "flex" in a wooden ride is desirable and whether or not it needs to be controlled over time. We all know that wooden rides need to give somewhat as the train travels over it... is that something designed into the ride and locked in and never needs to be touched, or are people tightening bolts from time to time? -

^ That's a great question - I'd love to know the answer, too. Congrats on the position Colin - hope it's everything you hoped and more. -

Paul, you're going to the UK and I am too and we're making Andrew and Brad come also. Write it down. -

I love that high-pitched noise you hear when cars advance in stations... you hear it on USF's Mummy for example, and a bunch of other rides... Also love the B&M roar and their advance noise... means your ride is coming soon! -
