  1. An aerial view of the construction site. It's insane how much land these guys have. photo by FOMOcoaster
  2. Some new info regarding next season. - new area is called "Aqualantis" - coaster name is "Abyssus" - area also includes DiskO Coaster, Rockin Tug and a boat ride - a diving show - a restaurant - all designed by JoraVision Also new artwork and CG renders: "Abyssus" coaster entrance "Aqualantis" area entrance source: http://www.mamnewsa.pl/magazyn/energylandia-otwarta-rowniez-zima-do-tego-calkiem-nowa-strefa-i-nowy-rollercoaster
  3. A ton of photos can be found here: https://mp-fun.de/area-51-presspreview/ The volcano is still there, only repainted. In the queue lots of new signage, and new movies on the TVs. During the ride, a couple new vehicles, and all the projections have been updated to match the new storyline. You now visit Area 51, whereas before you went on an expedition to the Bermuda Triangle. There's also a new soundtrack. It's not awful, but it's all very average. There are 7 coasters, but only 2 are "good". Not worth 4 hours of travel imo.
  4. I don't think there was ever a rumor that Anubis would be removed, was there?! However quite a few people expected this thing... So yeah, it's a pleasant surprise they actually went with a custom design, and a proper coaster.
  5. In 2021 the park will open a Mack Xtreme Spinning Coaster. Plans show a pretty wild layout including 2 launches and possibly 6 inversions. layout 3D view of the second half of the ride source: local government https://www.omgevingsloket.be/omvPubliek/?openbaaronderzoek#openbaaronderzoekprojectdetail/projectuuid=ussmNsEOTuCBS-lbcLnQXw
  6. Looks like it's been a while since a Rookburgh update was posted here. This week will likely be the last time you get a glimpse of the flying coaster before the area opens. The hotel is now starting to encircle the ride, and the final soundwall is going up as well. For many months we had this view from the streets... ...while those curious enough to peek over the walls over the past few weeks were treated to this insanity: photos: Brian (CF), CLRUN4 (Ameworld), Mario M. 7. The massive turnaround is no more. before: photos: looopings & themeparkarchive
  8. Looks like they've removed the bottom of the first drop as well. https://www.parkz.com.au/article/2018/08/24/620-Track_comes_down_from_DC_Rivals_HyperCoaster_during_annual_maintenance.html
  9. That's a pretty cool layout. I wonder if they'll incorporate Sledgehammer into its theme. It's so close. Maybe the new coaster represents some sort of monster, with the giant sledgehammer attacking it.
  10. That building housed a really nice restaurant, with a great view of the Fjord Rafting. You could open those windows in the summer and look at the rapids below. Loved that place. Downstream there even was a balcony.
  11. Quite a few oddly placed supports.
  12. That aerial shot. Wow. It's so pretty.
  13. The dream of a new theme park in Calais is still very much alive, with the city now looking at a partnership with Fantawild, who wants to expand outside of China. Earlier this week, the city's mayor Natacha Bouchart got a tour of Ningbo's Oriental Heritage by Fantawild vice-president Daisy Shang. The mayor was impressed the most by the park's 360° theater as well as the massive darkride (the one with the HUGE boats). Another representative of the city will visit more Fantawild parks this month. translation: "A copy of what exists at other parks (in Europe) would not be a good idea. However, Fantawild can bring us something very different, with Chinese themes and atmospheres that don't exist anywhere else in Europe." source: NordLittoral (French newspaper)
  14. That might just be the most fun ride at the park. Love how smooth and gentle it is. Very family-friendly and it gives you time to appreciate the crazy movements and unique views. Great footage! The shots of that sideways loop, wow. :o
  15. Is that a Frozen-themed Expedition Everest?!
  16. This park is now under construction. Simworx Immersive Tunnel Zierer Force Two Zierer Force Zero And a photo taken at the Zierer factory: Zierer ESC 535 photos: Parc Spirou
  17. Not much activity in this thread... Anyway, the new Python is going up nicely. Both loops are already back, and they just completed the new-and-improved turnaround. So much smoother now. Older pic showing the new loops: As you can see in all of the photos, the supports sometimes look a little funky. This is the result of re-using the old concrete footings even though the track layout is slightly different, as well as insisting that every track segment is now attached "perpendicular" to the support. And a recently revealed fact: the entire project costs 4.5 million euro. Bonus pic: photos by plaetjesmakers.nl & eftelwesley
  18. Track has arrived! A couple of older photos showing the ride's area: Existing buildings getting the Tiki-treatment: Meanwhile on the other side of the park, the Aqualibi expansion: Some new artwork: photos: Walibi Belgium & WalActu
  19. The new Eurosat will be... red. :o photo by Michael Mack
  20. More Hyperion track going up. I believe this is the bottom of the second drop. photos by PabloA at SkyscraperCity
  21. Looks finished. photos: Plopsa
