M&D Scotland's Tsunami derails
BDG replied to UKCoasterFan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
After looking at some of the high-res photos, it looks like there is some serious damage to one of the supports underneath the first drop. One of them is literally bent. There's also damage to the paint. So I would guess the train derailed during the first drop, and collided with that support, causing that damage. https://twitter.com/_demicampbell/status/747085763939008512 An older photo of the same support: -
Every other family used to own one of those buses. It's the German equivalent of an American park adding lake cabins. Besides, what's the difference with Legoland's ? Or Europa-Park? I don't see the difference... All of them are nothing more than a unique, quirky way of spending the night at the park's campsite. You do realize Robb was joking when he said you can rent them by the hour?

The park has confirmed this is the last season for its Schwarzkopf Looping Star, which opened in 1979. It will be replaced by a new coaster for 2017. The 37-year-old Looping Star will close in October and the park is planning numerous events to give it a proper sendoff, which could include walks up the lifthill or even spending the night in a campsite underneath the ride. (The park started out as a western-themed camping site.) As for the new coaster, not much is known, only that it will be taller and more spectacular than the Looping Star. It will also occupy a larger area. There will be an inversion and it will have a western theme. -

The park has detailed its plans for the next 10 years: - the entrance will be relocated - a significant expansion of the park - an additional parking lot - a hotel (100 rooms for 4 people) The goal is to double the park's attendance. From 630,000 visitors (in 2015) to 1,2 million visitors (by 2025). According to a new zoning plan: - buildings will be no taller than 30 m - except for the new entrance (which includes a 45 m tall tower) and the hotel (35 m) - rides are allowed up to 45 m (148 ft) - however, 3 rides can be as tall as 100 m (328 ft) - and even 150 m (492 ft) could be allowed, but that would require an additional investigation source: http://www.horstaandemaas.nl/Actueel/BKM/2016/Bestemmingsplan/week_22/Toverland -
