I'm hopefully going to see it either later on next week or maybe next weekend. -
It sounds like most of the accidents involving cables (mainly on Dragster) were at low speeds and were probably caused by the initial thrust of the launch. Since those accidents were less severe, they probably just did maintainence a little more often. Since this was a high speed cable 'shattering' they'd probably do some more investigation in to what exactly happened. I'm pretty sure they are going to replace the front car of the red train because of the damage, plus any other parts damaged in the accident. I wonder if they will repaint it....? I can only dream... ^^Yeah, probably no need for OTSR's.

^Same here about the Sonic thing! The closest one I know of is either in Spokane or in Post Falls by what I remember... They put all the good stuff too far away from me.

Funny this goes back to what someone said awhile ago about 'Sitting in the back on Xcelerator'...... Can't find the topic, but I know it was said out there somewhere. Still, all joking aside, it's sad that this accident happened. I'll never consider not sitting in the front just because kids got smacked in the face, though. What's weird is that 2 kids from my class were just there and they said the park would be tearing it down. I'm glad I looked here first before I believed anything. If Xcelerator were to be removed, I'd have gone nuts that my current favorite coaster would be torn down just 4 1/2 months after I rode it!

^That would be the coolest thing ever, I must agree! (Especially since I'm an S&S fan who wouldn't mind saving mankind) -
^They have OTSR's for the same reason the Intamins have them, it's vertical and they probably have to have a little more restraint than just LB's. I can also imagine it being a little more comfortable with an OTSR than with a LB. I must say that I have been very exited to see the Big Air. though it doesn't look as detailed as in the concept art on Vekoma's webpage, it still looks like one of the most interesting coasters I've seen. Can't wait to see if any more pop up.

^^I wish I had an A&W closer to me. Even though there's one about 40 minutes away there seem to be no others in this whole state! I've been 14 for 5 days, I got an iPod docking station, I'm hopefully getting a VholdR camera, and I'm having dinner at my friend's house tonight. Mmm.... burgers...

^Our old computer went BOOM and we just got our new one today (Note, first TPR Post on my new computer ). I should be able to have at least a few things on here by either later on tonight (I have to be very diligent), tomorrow, or Sunday. Note, all my school work is pushing it to next weekend. Sorry for making promises I can't keep.

I started school last Tuesday. So far it's going pretty smooth, but I'm suspecting by the time everything starts speeding up I'm gonna get round-house kicked by Chuck Norris in the face. Not fun for those who haven't experienced it.

I went to Wild Waves yesterday (and finally managed to do every coaster in one visit), I'm getting my new computer tomorrow, and I'm going to the Puyallup Fair on the 20th with our friends from Mt. Vernon.

^^Yeah, Skycoasters are really fun! I was a little afraid to ride my first one (funny, it happened to be Dive Devil @ SFMM) but it kicked serious butt. Tell you what, if you ever happen to be in Washington, go to Wild Waves and ride the one there. It's a lot shorter than the ones at normal theme parks but still delivers the same punch. -
^Kinda like pulling up next to a stoplight in an Aston Martin DB9 and a DBS pulling up next to you, the DB9 is a perfectly good car and is much less expensive than the DBS. But if your in the DB9, you'll be punching yourself on the inside saying "Oh God, he's got the better car..." Don't understand that? It's simple: If you don't care about little 'extra features' or 'extra speed' or 'faster downloads', the regular is fine. But if you'd prefer that extra crap, go for the S.

So they turned X2 back into X? Better go back quick to get one final X credit before budget cuts force SFMM to tear the whole thing down! Good comments and pictures. I haven't done a Skycoaster type ride since my first visit to SFMM, I should really try to check it out next time I go. I also agree with the Los Angeles: 2029 themeing..... But how would the other rides be rethemed? Keep up the good work. -
I just went to Silverwood yesterday and it rocked! I did Panic Plunge 3 times and all the coasters once. I also went to Boulder Beach and got a few rides on the slides. Aftershock, for the most part, was ok. But as usual it was a little rough and a little headbangy. Corkscrew was almost pointless, even with the good backseat airtime. Timber Terror was rough, but the airtime made up for it. And Tremors was rough as usual, but the photo was cute, so we got it. I got my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd credits on Panic Plunge (as you can see, I liked it).

Roughest coaster
Six Flags Enthuseast replied to jbuck's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
After getting done with Silverwood yesterday and today, I can almost say that Tremors is the roughest woodie I've been on. It was exiting and it had a lot of airtime, but the turns were uber rough and made my light headache kind of worse.
