  1. Let's see what I have.... And finally, me and dad on X2. Mom and dad riding TS:TR (I didn't take a pic of my ride photo). Us on Ghostrider. We look happy, but it was extremely rough that day. Mom said she'd never go on it again. Us on Xcelerator. We all loved it. Our ride on Space Mountain. As you can see, we all thought it sucked.
  2. I would have to say the answer to the question at the end would be B, but there IS a possibility of it being C.... Nice report! Fantastic pictures+funny captions=Supreme awesomeness!
  3. ^^Let's see..... Than if it's B&M "Rattle", I'd have to say Riddler's Revenge was bad, but Great White was pretty bad too. By what I can remember, RR was pretty smooth, but I felt a bit of a rattle through the whole course. Great White was also very smooth, but we were waiting in line due to rain, and we got on the second they said it was done raining. I felt a pretty bad rattle on it too, but Great White is still up there of the inverts I've been on.
  4. I think the coaster is great! Good: -Wide, long, and generallly exiting layout. -The airtime is great, especially on the first hill and some of the bunny hops. -The block system is good for a woodie. -In general, most of the ride is pretty smooth and has good transitions between elements. The not so Good: -The ending brakes are a little jerky. -I have to agree dr. gumbo, the end was fun, but a little rushed. -The restraint color. For some reason, I'm not a huge fan of purple restraints. Tips/Suggestions: -Make the end a little more spread out. Keep it a lot like the current ending, but spread it out a little. -Make the brakes gentler by decreasing the G-force level of stopping. -Color the restraints orange to match the grab bars. Overall, it's a good ride, and only a little needs to be improved.
  5. This is looking to be a nice park, but if your parks logo has a Vekoma Corkscrew, why not put one in the park? Then again, Six Flags does the same thing.... But it's looking nice overall.
  6. The only "rough" B&M's I've been on are Iron Wolf at SFGAm and Batman: The Ride at SFMM. Actually, B:TR was kinda smooth, but going through the brakes at the end were a little rough and rumbly.
  7. ^^Yeah, I was surprised by Goliath's short time too. I believe it was.... maybe 20 minutes including the walk to the station. But the station was just barely full, and it was 2 train operation. Yay Goliath! ^Thank you! And yes, I totally think that Metro would help ease the crowds that gather at SFMM. I've heard that on busy days it can get really crowded and I think Metro would help with that.
  8. Man, I wish I was there... Also, I forgot to ask: Was there any ERT on any other rides? Or was it just Terminator?
  9. ^^^THAT deserves its own topic! OMG! LOL!
  10. Ok, last part of DAY 2: SFMM! "Today was a lot of fun..... NOW LET'S GO GET SOMETHING TO EAT!!!!!!" Bye X2! You awesome ride, you! (Hey, it rhymed sorta!) ... ... ..... ...... One last look upon the amazing coaster skyline that is SFMM... I'll see ya on TS:TR Media Day, SFMM! SFMM is pulling a Cedar Fair on us! And we're outta here! There's the exit gate. The park's main gift shop is Flags. Don't some SF parks have Flags gift shops? Superman: Tree Escape! More Flags, More Fun! Valencia Falls still operating. A good sign, since it apparently was turned off during both of my visits in 2005 and 2007. See? I told you there'd be a lot of Canadians here today! (Funny enough, queueing for Deja Vu, I met some Playland PNE fanboys) Yup, we're about done for today! Lot's of trees...... Um, really? See ya later Snakes and Pies...(coughcough)...... Shakes and Fries! Fade has taken its toll on Metro as well. I know something you don't know about this station! If you think you know it, tell me what it is by PM! NOTED! I always thought that was an interesting thing to try... I'd like one that's cherry pie flavored.... Mmm.... Marie Callendars Cherry Pie with cinnamon crumb topping.... fresh and warm with a cold glass of milk.... mmm...... (Hungry yet?) Yeah, see all the growth around the tracks? They should install seats to make it look like a roto-tower car. I've seen that before. They should cut trees down first before they should even plan to open Metro! I only need to be 14 in order to work here! I'd love to see what I could do. Probably not much, but I'd enjoy working at an awesome park like SFMM! Thomas Town is looking nice. A moment of scilence........... (Sidenote: It's actually very easy to enter that area! When I was there, there was nothing blocking entrance.) Yup, that's where we are... Ahhhh! Why are you doing this to me, Lucario?!? "Ha ha ha ha! That's what you get for not letting me have any Wingstreet last night!" The Goliath fruit stall was closed too... NOTED! The 2 pirate themed rides at the park. Food "Etc." Why did they have to close the gift shop? There's 0-100 mph: The Lie again! See you later, Goliath! There we go! Gotta say thanks to the Goliath operating crew for pretty fast operations and a fun experence! You guys rock! Gotta say thanks to the....... Hey, where are they? "Goliath was one of the best coasters I've EVER been on! Go Switzerland!" Almost our turn! I'm just staring at the train trackers...... When it's gone, you can see the awesome nerdy crap beneth it. It's a pretty long train! "I can't understand what the ride-op is saying, but the thing I REALLY have a hard time understanding is why Patrick's dad didn't come with us! Who could miss out on their Goliath credit?" Mom and I were puzzled on what the ride-op was trying to say! Back car. Front car... You get a lot of wind through the station if it picks up at all. It can pass easily through the windows and the slits up there. You can see the beautiful desert mountain range from Goliath's station. "Oh boy! This is going to by my first Hyper coaster!" Going up the stairway to get to the station. "Hey! I can see Scream! from here!" ...... If you want pictures of the station, this is the update! They did a good job making the door blend in. Sorta... The station of Goliath seems to be made out of bamboo. Can you tell? Somethin's goin' on back there.... Snickers on a Giovanola = EPIC WIN!!! Goliath has queue mist, but it looks like it's not on at the moment. Poor Colossus hasn't had much attention since all the other coasters were built. This shot makes it evident how the catwalk and brake supports are shaped. Good at designing RCT3 CS? Use this photo a little bit for the nerdy crap..... This Giovanola seems to have a quiet 'first drop roar' too. The supports have faded because of the bright California sun. Heck, most of the rides have faded a bit because of the sun! Only X2, Viper, and Tatsu are still in good condition. It's cool how it slows down right at the top. Klu.....Klunk.....Klu...KluKluKLuKLUNK!! If you have anything small that's easy to fit into your pockets, don't use the locker to store them. Goliath won't beat them up too much. Queue rails. OMG! This picture easily demonstrates how dirty the catchnets are. NOTED! If you've never been to SFMM or have never heard a Reverse Freefall coaster before, you can hear it from anywhere in the park. I'm NOT joking! Just listen for the jet-airplane sounding noise, or stand under it on the midway. It is one of the loudest and most extreme noises you will hear IN YOUR LIFE!
  11. All the SFMM "Big Guns" were really nice and cool during TS:TR Opening Day, too. It's always nice to see park staff and managment doing their best on days of events like those!
  12. Just by what everybody has said, I can already tell it turned out fantastic! Awesome comments, good reports, and great ERT makes me want to attend WCB 2010 more than ever!
  13. There's a chance I might go to the Amusement Part Drive-In sometime in July or August. We're passing through to go visit Mount Rushmore. We might also do Silverwood on the way back, but we'd probably do it seperately throughout the summer. EDIT: I visited the Drive-In and I was disappointed. Though I didn't really get to go into the park, the rides were pretty small and the Mad Mouse coaster wasn't assembled (I was COMPLETELY wrong, it's an older Mad Mouse style fair ride, not an S&S El Loco. Sorry, looked at the wrong page on RCDB). I saw the first 'mega kiddie coaster' credit that went around the screen, and it looks 'interesting'. The Mad Mouse coaster was to the right of the screen (facing the screen from the entrance) and a few small supports were up. A big group of kiddie rides was in front of and to the left of the screen, including a mini-mini ferris wheel, a big pink slide, and all the rides Robb pointed out from the start. It was pretty dirty (the whole lot was just dust. But hey, most drive-in's are dirt, right?), it was smelly (next to a horse ranch and what seemed to smell like a sewage treatment plant) and small (about the size of some bruises you'd recieve on the worst of Boomerangs). Overall, it's a great idea. But, even though I'm forming my opinions from a few outside looks, I'd just go there to see a movie, and maybe if the coaster opened.
  14. Ok, I think I understand now. Yes, I know it was more about business than ride demos and 'concept' attractions. I thought it looked interesting because I am actually into the technical crap and the business of rides. The fun new rides and test seats and crap would've been just a little extra. But now I know that it's more of a serious thing. Thank's everybody for your help, once again!
  15. I really would like to go to IAAPA 2009 in Las Vegas this year! The problem is, I checked the website, and I couldn't find a few things I needed to know. So, if anyone knows the answers to these questions, I'd gladly appreciate the help. 1) Do you have to have a pass, membership, or some kind of VIP access to visit the convention? 2) I know there are many rides, but do you have to access the convention or have permission to go to the ride area? 3) How much is admission, or how much would an access pass cost? 4) Is it worth going to as an event? I really think it looks like a lot of fun, but since TPR's been to a few, I'd like to know if it's worth it. 5) Finally, is TPR going to be attending? Thank you in advance if you can help me with this! I'd really like to go to this event, but I'd like to figure out these things to be sure I'm able to go. Patrick C. SFE
  16. I can't wait to see how the day turned out! I'd like to get a Take the Tunnel shirt since I got my credit on it (I was there GP Opening Day) and loved it!
  17. ^Oh, don't worry! It's no big deal. If you like Riddler, expect me to show it some love by TS:TR Media day! And yes, I am anticipating to see what's changed at SFDK since my last visit.
  18. ^Sorry, Zach, but you're wrong! We didn't do Riddlers Revenge that day, but we did get to do it on TS:TR Media Day. Next, the last (I hope) part of DAY 2: SFMM! That is still one of the most awesome drops EVAH! Ok, I've hit the attachment limit, so I'll update tomorrow (I promise) with the last few photos of DAY 2: SFMM. Thanks for reading! Over the top..... Klunkklunkkluklunkklunkkluklunk.... Like this one! This honestly looked like one of the first shots Robb and Elissa took of S:TE in 1997. You remember how it was down a lot then? It was really cloudy the day they went, and this actually looks like one of the shots they took..... GIMMIE SOME CHEESE AND BACON FRENCH FRIES!!!!!! Just in case you're by Food "Etc.", they removed the sign, and you're with your laptop wanting to know where to go from there. Food Etc. is a weird name for a food place.... what exactly is "Etc."? Goliath's turnaround looks kinda reddish in the sunset. Sigh.... it's kinda funny to see these advertisements once you've been there or bought it or whatever, isn't it? It's clear through this photo, but Superman: The Escape was one of the tallest roller coasters in the world when it debuted in 1996! (Cheap comment awareness is a good thing...) Most of the notable stuff is up there... I'd ask my parents to hold my stuff so I could pose, but I'd rather just continue on to Goliath. The sky quickly became cloudy... then again, this IS California.... Giovanola was one of the coolest companies.... we love you and miss you a lot! =( Superman must get tired of having to stand up there all day and night.... Too much concrete in this photo = FAIL! More midway games in Colossus County Fair area. "Talk about a waste! Sure it's fun, but don't lie about your rides speed! It clearly goes 80 mph, not 100! Just get it back to 100 and forget about it! Or move the brakes at the top a little! Something! ANYTHING!!" "I think random midway games are a waste of money! Don't you?" What's that orange thing behind the fence? Is SFMM hiding a new B&M or something? And a nice little repaint wouldn't be bad, either..... They really need to open up Metro. It helps with crowd flow and can keep you from having to walk around the entire park to get somewhere. Tidal Wave should be MUCH MUCH busier than this on a hot day like today! I'm not being sarcastic! Hmm..... One of the intense corkscrews on Riddler's Revenge. Oh yes, I forgot to say (while I was there) that the scrambler is doing fine also. The bumper cars are doing great as usual. A sign that you are in California. Dive Dive Dive!! If R.E.M. made a song themed to this picture, it would be called So Central Loop (after their song So Central Rain). Starting the drop with the typical quiet B&M roar.... Just watch..... Yes, SFMM DOES actually have a movie theater within park grounds! They just make it look like a bathroom. Go to the 3rd toilet stall, knock 3 times, and Mark Shapiro will personally let you in. See, aren't all the little secrets of SFMM fun? Magically, I got a photo of TS and DD operating at exactly the same time. I fell over and was on the ground for about 10 minutes before I woke up and began heading over to the other side of the park. No comment.... I got a caracature at SFMW in 2006. I still have it in my room. Sorry, Goldie. We aren't going to ride you this trip. Maybe next time, ok? We all know that's another Arrow Corkscrew! SF seems to enjoy taking random pictures from the internet and advertising them as their coasters. FAIL! There's a lot of red, black, and white in this picture. Notice? I love you, B&M! I love Intamin more, but you're a very close second. Something encouraged me to take this picture.... IDK what it was though... Still looking at Thrill Shot..... Hey, don't judge me! We got one already. Happy, old guy? Vertical shot. Need I say more? Looking at that Thrill Shot car again. "I've certainly been on better rides than that! It wasn't 'horrible', but I don't think 45 minute line times and slow operations make we want to go on it again." You'd pretty much pay for the guitar you'd win if you kept at it all day. Looks like another one of thoses ladder games Elissa can't win! Those riders are just getting their pop of airtime for the day. Hey, Thrill Shot is operating! Yay! NOTED! Is it possible that a woodie could be smoother than a Vekoma Giant Inv....... heck, most rides are smoother than anything made by Vekoma! Sure, Vekoma makes a lot of good rides, but you guys really need to..... I'm just rambling, I'll just continue on to keep from starting Vekoma fire wars. The classic cobra roll view. So, how was it? It was just 'ok'. If you like Deja Vu here, go to Aftershock at Silverwood. It's much better (I think)! Ladies and gentlemen.... boys and girls.... it's something Patrick has been waiting to do since 2005..... it was closed during his 2005 visit...... interest was little during his 2007 visit.... but now, sit back, brace, and get ready to do Boomerang: The Invert! Dad can't wait to ride TS:TR! Really, I've been talking about it for months, and he's been hyped too. This peakhole allows you to see just what kind of crap still needs to be completed! Sky Tower has stood proudly as a beacon of hope to hungry thrill seakers for many years! (You just have to love my cheap comments) They say this'll be ready by Thursday? TS:TS (Terminator Salvation: The Sign) Instead of Cyclone Bay, they should call it Meshy Marsh. Or Messy Mesh. Something to do with all the random mesh they put up. ....aaannndddd fooorrrrrrrrtthhhhh..... baaaaaccckkkk....... Hey! It's one of those "weird" Californians that walks those fake dogs. I mean, you can tell it's a fake, but it's just weird how it has a really stiff leash and all. I'm just sitting here watching the coaster go back and forth..... back and forth..... Going back outside feels like crossing the border between Alaska and Arizona. Goodbye candy! Robb will be back to eat you in 3 days! Aww man! Why do we have to leave this air conditioned paradise? Dark Chocolate M&Ms! Nah, I'll pass on the fudge. Cause I'm getting........ wait for it...... wait for it........ An old butler guy is here advertising SFMM's fudge. Hey! Cut it out Six Flags! We all know that's GASM at SFGAd! Stop pretending that it's Viper! Mmm.... assorted ice cream... Oh, IDK, a T-shirt? Inside the candy shop, there's lots of candy! What else could there be inside a candy shop? I'd go in through the gate, but I don't want our passes revolked the day we got them! Besides, I can see a lot already from here. Hey, that gate is easily enterable on the left side! BAM!! We begin our trek towards Deja Vu, when suddenly... 3 of my favorite colors are on the Thrill Shot car. Cyclone 500 was one of the first theme park Go Cart style rides I've been on. You can see some of the complicated crap on the tower. Like the pulleys and the wires. Mario Kart is a lot better than "SFMM Kart". See? They really do look like lawn mowers! In Canada, people drive around in little yellow carts. In America, they push little trash sweepers that look like lawn mowers! Still staring at those awesome towers.... You can tell I like S&S rides, right? Was the awesomest ride ever, until we got the bill for how much it was to ride. Hmm....... The Wii experience is pretty cool. But you don't need to do it. Just go out and get one! I fully recommend it to anyone who likes having fun! They had (and still have, I think) a deal where you can buy a Dive Devil flight and get a Thrill Shot ride for only $5. Mom and dad wouldn't want to go on Dive Devil just for a $5 ride on Thrill Shot, though. I wish the almighty S&S god would just zap Thrill Shot with lightning and make the old car reappear. At this point, I'm just drooling.... Oh noes! The sun has melted some of the supports for Dive Devil! IT'S GOING TO FALL!!! AHHHHHHH!!!! I spy with my little eye..... a 1998 B&M Standup coaster! I'm right, aren't I? Man, that Challenger would've been cool as a rental car! This reminds me of when I was at SFFT and I rode Poltergiest. The photo booth wasn't open, and they gave us one of those cards. But I didn't claim the cool looking photo in time....=( Psyclone is gone, and there is no real point to the name anymore. It's Goldrusher! OMG!
  19. Six Flags over Texas has been one of those parks I've always wanted to go to. Nice little reports like this make me want to go to it even more!
  20. What on earth are you talking about? Something like this..... Yellow= Plate Green=Mounts for the plate
  21. I believe this is one of the webpages for the ride. However, it's all in Sweedish (or whatever language they speek, my bad if I'm wrong), so you'll have to translate it. www.sommarland.se/trananblog/
  22. Idea: Make it like a Premier shuttle! Sure, the Premier shuttle is very short (Mr. Freeze for example), but it has a few nice twists and an overbank. Add an upside down loop (more like on B&M flyers) and maybe a small turn. I think that would add a nice little element to the ride and would make it more exiting.
  23. They could probably fit some kind of side mounted piece of metal that wouldn't effect the spring tension but would keep the idiots from going too far. That would keep everybody safe. Man, these updates just keep getting better and better! The new coaster looks like a lot of fun, but I do agree about slight capacity issues. That would actually be just the right size to fit Wild Waves if they wanted to build something new. (FYI, Wild Waves is my local park, in case you didn't know.)
  24. Wow......... That's all I can say..... definitely a prototype, but it would be interesting to consider the possibilities......
  25. I just love reading TPR updates from AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME European theme parks that we normally can't afford to go to but would LOVE to do so. It makes me really want to go on a TPR trip sometime soon. I really hope you get a Pacific Northwest Trip sometime soon. It's about time you visit the rainy state, the potato capital of the US, and whatever else is here to see. But yes, as always, keep up with the fantastic updates, Robb and Elissa!
