My day at Zamperland was a lot of fun yesterday! I got 2 credits on Timberhawk, 2 on the Klondike Goldrusher (^^So yes, it was open, even though they were only running 2 trains), and I got a few rides on a lot of the flat rides there. P.S. If you don't get the Zamperland joke, WW has a lot of Zamperla rides there. Trust me, just look around, and you'll see what I mean.

^^Yes, Klondike Goldrusher IS really open, SF kept it closed constantly, but now it's open a lot more often. I actually think PARC has done a way better job at running the park and keeping a lot of rides running. You should return just to see how the park is doing, if the last time you saw the park was before PARC. 900th Post!

I'm gonna go to Wild Waves tomorrow. If anyone wants a few maps, be sure to tell me! Because of how much it would cost to send maps, I require a charge for however much it costs to send them. I'll likely send them either in a flat rate envelope or in some kind of smaller envelope depending on how many you want. But I'll get as many as I can, all I need are some Zamperhilla fanboys! Wait, or is it Zamperla...? I forget....... PM me if you're interested.

I apologize for taking so long, but my schedule has been very busy. Friday: Had to go to dinner and got home too late to go on the computer (yes, my parents have begun restricting me to how long I can stay on at night! Isn't that sad?) Saturday: Was lazy and didn't get to it. Sunday: I don't quite remember, but I think I was a little busy. Monday: The Altar Boy Boot Camp at my church that occupied me from Monday to Wednesday. Tuesday: ABBC again. Wednesday: When we got done with the last day, we went camping at Kitsap Memorial State park. Thursday: Getting used to being gone from the house for more than 24 hours. We returned late anyways Today: Once again, too late to get more than 10 photos in (just got back from dinner at Olive Garden). However I'm sure I'll be able to get in at least a few photos in by Sunday or Monday. But if not, note that I am very busy, but that I'm still paying attention to my very important trip report threads. Thank you all for your patience! I'd also like to announce that I'm going to Wild Waves tomorrow (my smal local mediocre theme park near Seattle) and I'll get some photos from there as well. So stay tuned!

^Did I ever say it was fully worth waiting for an hour to ride? Oh yes, I forgot about the ones in Xcelerator. Geeze, what was up with me? If you guys want to see some more of KBF, I'll be posting it after I get finished with DAY 5: SFMM Terminator Salvation: The Ride Media Day Event. If you've already seen some of it, sorry I didn't update last Saturday. I've been extremely busy this week and I haven't really been able to keep up with updates. But I should be able to update on Sunday or Monday.......(Hopefully )

TPR's Scandinavia 2009 Trip!

I fully support Robb's decision of putting the complainers down the drain. Go Robb! Patrick SFE -
^Congratulations! And since I hear a lot of other people are having birthdays soon or that they already had them, happy birthday to you too. I'm going to my local park Wild Waves tomorrow. I'll be sure to take a few photos for a TR, now that I'm getting better at them.

For the hyper, I think the name Flaming Fury would suit it well. For the eurofighter, I'd suggest something like The Duke's Haunted Mansion sponsered by Pepsi/Coke (which ever drink you 'use' in your park). Something to do in general with a Haunted Mansion theme would be good, I think. Also, is the brake right before the lift a block or just regular a regular brake?

The layout is very good, the colors are fantastic (in real life, since it'd probably be possible, I'd keep it that deep shade of orange but make sure it wasn't lightly metallic), the station is pretty good, and the coloring of the trains is pretty good. If I had to change one thing, I would make the last section of brakes to be able to hold at least 2 trains. If it were to break down for a long time or if there were to be a hold up at the station, this would keep people from having to sit at mid-course. Though it may seem like a perfect place to hold a train, mid-course brakes are (in most cases) meant to ensure that a train coming up the lift doesn't stop because the train in front of it hasn't crossed the last brakes yet. They are mostly just to keep things running. Though it is possible that trains could be stopped there during e-stops, I think it'd be better if there was an extra brake to allow the train not to be held up at the mid-course. However, the only real need to add that is if you need to increase capacity. The brake before the lift hill is a good idea because if a train fills up before the train in front of it has finished the lift, you can release it just before it hits the top of the lift. Overall, now that I've seen the whole coaster, I'm impressed, but a few little changes to the layout to include a 2nd final brake would be good. A job well done!

Yesterday, I got my last ride on Windstorm (you know, the mini coaster at Seattle Center?) before its removal in October/Late September. I'm at least glad I got a final ride, even though it isn't exactly the best coaster in the world.

The new hyper looks very nice! So far, by what I see, the layout looks good and smooth, the color is good, and the scenery isn't that bad for being put together in a short amount of time (according to you). If anything, once again, I'd like to see more before judging an opinion on it, but I think it looks good so far.

And even if they put any emphesis on small, it's pretty big anyways, like about the size you'd expect a medium to be! And you just want a small drink, not a medium for free, right? Modern day fast food joints have simply lost touch with reality...... And if small's the size of medium, medium's the size of large, and large the size of...... well...... the size of the person that's giving it to you (in some cases)!

My mom finally let me get the external hard drive for my computer that it's needed for a long time now. It's 500 GB, about 2 1/2 times the size of my computers memory. You think that's enough?

TPR's Scandinavia 2009 Trip!
Six Flags Enthuseast replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Nice TR Robb. This looks like yet another nice little Scandinavian park! Ok, let's tally up everything cool here: Dayglow Orange Train on Intamin ride + Underground barrel roll + Coaster that goes BOOOM!! + Crappy looking yet delicious pizza + Open air tower (why can't SFMM do that with the 2nd deck on Sky Tower? WHY!?!?) + Intamin Skater + Disco - SLC = Yet another AWESOME park! Man, that really adds up! -
Roughest coaster
Six Flags Enthuseast replied to jbuck's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^If you're talking about the Revolution at SFMM, you're totally wrong! Have you ridden the newer train that was remodeled last year? If not, it is better and you need to ride it. Now when I think about it, Ghostrider and Mean Streak were equally rough.... I also remember Magnum being rough beyond normal Arrow roughness. If any of you ever plan on going on Magnum, I must suggest that you do not ride the front seat, it is too painful for the average human being to stand and should be sealed off from riding. That's how rough it is. -
Help aussie ride coasters

I voted for you. Even if you don't win, California is really awesome and you should try any way possible to do Six Flags Magic Mountain and Knott's! (That's if you're considering southern California. If you're thinking Northern California, you should try to do Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and Great America.) Good luck in your contest! -
^Yup, that's Batman: The Ride MOD EDIT: And with this post you have earned a 24 hour ban from TPR for repeatedly posting for posting's sake after being warned.

^^Yes, I know they're pretty blurry. The camera on the DSi is pretty good resolution, but the photos tend to look crappy when they're enlarged. It's a sad fact of life. ^Thank you! Yes, I'll try to post a few less photos, but It's just me to show everyone everything I got. IDK why, though. I'll start with Day 3: Disneyland right now. Oh boy.... here we go again! Mom and dad are telling me to go to bed, so I must go for now. I'll update more soon, though, so stay tuned! Thanks for reading! Hmm.... I mean, Matterhorn's mountain is easily visable, but I can't seem to spot the castle at all! What the heck? The castle *should* be there, but it looks like Disney had to move it to a putt putt golf course as a golfing obstacle. See what the economy is doing to everybody? As my thumb is pointing out, our first mission is to get to New Orleans Square. The oldest car still in commercial operation. It's good that Disney manages to keep up good transportation methods to keep people moving. I almost think the horses that pull the carrages are robots... they make you think that they're covering the eyes to keep the horses from going crazy... but the blindfolds are to cover up THEY'RE ELECTRIC EYES! Disney is good at eyes, but they couldn't build horse eyes, so they coverd them up... So every horse you see at Disneyland is a robot, kinda like Lucky the Dinosaur! Or I'm just going crazy and the horses are real and they're just blindfolded. I tried to take a picture of the candy shop, but the DSi camera didn't transition well. This was the clearest shot I got! The Indian cheif looks like he's exasperated with life. He'd much rather be hanging out at Knott's in front of Pony Express... WAAYYY better than standing in front of a candy shop being forced to be in photos with crying 4-year olds asking to go to the bathroom! Is it me, or is DL busy? Nope, it's actually about as busy as it always is. I gotta say hi to my ol' bud Pluto! Wazzup? ...as usual...... Yup.... closed...... You know a company's gotten a lot bigger than they originally expected when they offer their own Visa! Yup, this is the classic view that stole the world way back then.... sigh, things have changed a lot. "This is my 1st Disney park! Oh wait, screw that, my 2nd Disney park! Hold on..... Wait, he bought me at Epcot... WHATEVER! This is my first visit to DL. Is that good enough for you?" The brickwork is pretty nice, still the original brick from 1954, isn't it? Postcards..... I get them, but I just keep them as park nostaglia. NOTED! Disney does a good job gardening. Hey, Jeremie said he needed some DL maps. QUICK! GRAB A WHOLE CRAP LOAD! Welcome to the Oldest Place on Earth! One for you, EBL! PIGEONS!!! (Whoops, am I posting the unnecessary crap again? Let me get back to the good stuff...) 2 of the best rides at DCA. The other 2 are Soarin' and ToT. I got some new sandals. Like 'em? Hey DCA! How's it going? This is probably one of my favorite albums of all time! I enjoy every single song and it makes for good driving music. You know, just for a nice little drive through town.

TPR's Scandinavia 2009 Trip!
Six Flags Enthuseast replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I simply HAVE to agree with Robb and Elissa, a little park like Grona Lund would be an absolute joy to have nearby! It's a nice sized park.... Not huge like Cedar Point, but not puny like... well... everything near me. It's got a nice combination of good sized rides that have a nice thrill factor. Insane looks like a fantastic ride, the Vekoma kiddie invert looks a lot more than kiddie as Robb mentioned, the Schwarzkopf looks like it'd be pretty fun, and the Wild Mouse looks a lot wilder than the many mice we have in the states! The Intamin drop tower and the wide varienty of flat rides is very appealing too. -
^Actually, that is a very good point. I think most designers/parks like to make it 'traditional' by making it mostly gravity powered. I do agree that the wheels at the beginning are good, but I think today's market reserves them only for steel coasters. It's a good investment that can help prevent rollbacks or slow starts, though....
