  1. This is great news from out of nowhere! I think the GIB had a lot of potential when it first came out, but the reliability issues made it impractical. I think this is one of the most underrated coaster types and, if it has low downtime comparable to Aftershock, I'll be exited to see this one in action!
  2. Amazing photos! That looked like a lot of fun; yet another TPR success.
  3. ^I agree. Even though I think a few more ride could've been open, it was still a great event and the theming was excellent!
  4. Here is my Photo TR of my Silvewood visit.
  5. Like coolcalicoaster said, B:TR clones are the most intense, but I'd much prefer Montu or Raptor because they aren't overly intense. EDIT: The pretzel loop on Tatsu also makes it intense, but unenjoyably so for me.
  6. ^^^I agree, I like the news signs. I got a picture of the 1st one too, but it turned out blurry. ^^TT backwards was awesome! Even though the turns threw you to the side violently, airtime backwards > airtime forwards! I think they got the idea from SFMM, that's what a friend told me. Aftershock backwards would be interesting; wish it was open so I could ride it that way... ^Yeah, Silverwood has some pretty wacky yet awesome signs. I heard that they invested a lot too, and I agree, it was a lot of fun! That's great! Making coaster nerds one-at-a-time. Day 2 We take a quick trip to Wal-Mart to get some stuff. Then we go to Best Buy... and I immediatly get caught up with the iPad! For my friends on TST that are reading this, here's a lil' represent! Naturally, I get a little Aftershock time, since I can't get it at the park. As we head towards Marie Callendars, I notice this sign for Scarywood. At Marie Callendars, we get some pie. Mom got Rhubarb and I got French Apple, and it was all really good! Funny bumper sticker I noticed. "If I was an Alvey, I'd say this dinner at Chilis is gong to be better than regular sex!" "We're ready to go!" Bush Guy Credit #2. These hung clowns would randomly shake around... ...and then a real one would pop out of nowhere! This guy again! This time he was on the midway by Corkscrew. The line was too long, so I didn't ride Corkscrew this time. This actor ACTUALLY danced with me! Kudos to Silverwood for awesome, interactive actors this year! The Battle Zone area was converted into a snack stand for Scarywood. A look at what you could buy and how much it cost to buy it. I meet up with NorthWestCoasters at Panic Plunge. My arms hurt pretty badly after riding this. I ride Tremors again and get this interesting photo from the queue. Then it began raining, and several rides closed.... and my camera began having problems (although I *THINK* it may have more to do with the fact that I dropped it...) Blood Bayou (or something like that) had this aweosme animitronic in it! We head over to backwards TT and get a quick ride in. Group photo! NorthWestCoasters had to leave, but I stayed... ...and got 4 or 5 rides in on Panic Plunge. The ride ops did a 'just OK' job at loading, but the wait time was still less than 10 minutes. DROP! Final ride of the year! Goodbye, Panic Plunge! Paratrooper wasn't operating, and they even took all the cars off! We went to Susie's (I think, the one in the park), but it had already stopped serving big dinners, so I didn't get a chance to try it. =( Goodbye Scarywood! Thanks for reading!
  7. Silverwood Theme Park in Athol, Idaho, transforms into Scarywood for the Halloween season. With notable attractions such as the Terror Canyon Trail, the Zombie Express, and backwards Timber Terror, Scarywood becomes one of the Northwest's largest Halloween attractions! Even though Boulder Beach, Aftershock, and several midway flat rides are closed, the rest of the park is outfitted with all kinds of Halloween theming and many actors roam throughout the park. We reach the park late at night, but we find backwards Timber Terror lit up and ready to roll! "We're in!" This thing greeted people rather warmly at the park entrance. Later on, this guy would be juggling batons on fire! Waiting in line for the Zombie Express, this guy came up and scared the s**t out of people! But we weren't afraid. See? I told 'ya he'd be juggling batons on fire! It's like Sir Toppem Hat gone Adam Lambert with pinkeye! As you can see, the train looks a bit different... Nobody is covered with blood or has missing heads, so I assume all is good. Just what we need: Elvis with a shotgun! Mom was admiring the Swiss Cheese cobwebbing! Hey, I think I see the bush guy right there. Lemmie get a picture to see if it's him. *FLASH* Yup, it's him. There was a LOT of fog on the pathways! This shop seemed to be pretty popular during the whole weekend. I told him to stop clowning around. Photo op! I get a quick ride on Tilt-A-Whirl. Most of the rides on this section of the midway were operating and had their lights on. Ready to get 'Screwed? An exclusive night shot of Corkscrew! "I hear this may be leaving next year, so we might as well get our last credits on it..." Getting 'Screwed... at night! Normally, this would be Thunder Canyon... ...but for Scarywood it's become Terror Canyon Trail! And still the crappy lockers remain... The park looks pretty cool with all of these lights! After the maze, I get a ride on Tremors. Hey look! New signs! This one is the 2nd of 2 new ones. Still can't get the 'Z00M!' shot. This really was all you could see of Aftershock! The TT tree was still weird.... Panic Plunge looks pretty awesome at night! Probably the best picture I took all night, and it's my current avatar! "Bye bye Panic Plunge!" 2010 Park Map, for reference. Here's the thing that greeted us warmly at the entrance when we walked in! He came back to say goodbye, too! See 'ya tomorrow, Silverwood! Part 2 will come soon! Thanks for reading!
  8. I heard that California was having problems, but this? Jeez, I really am glad I live here in Washington. Joking aside, I really hope that the park is able to continue operation, as I've never had a chance to visit it before.
  9. Wooden coasters aren't necessarily missing something, but all of the 'best' elements for a woodie aren't in a single coaster.
  10. ^You're thinking of a Sling Shot. This ride is a bit different; although using the same concept of being slung in the air, this ride: 1) Has 3 towers instead of 2 2) Has a different launch system and 3) Hasn't had any accidents involving people being injured or killed. The only major accident on this type of ride involved a tower collapsing on the one that was as Cedar Point in 2002.
  11. That was pretty awesome! But I still don't hear him singing Buddy Holly...
  12. Were you listeing to the same song as I was when I got the idea? Oh, and another thing, he HAS to be drunk!... but that was implied, of course.
  13. Perfect time for this. Instant NOOOOO Button How DARE they plan on removing my beloved ride!!! Although... maybe it could find a new home?
  14. I'd love to see Piers sing a song by Wisconsin's famous Weezer.
  15. Forgive me for getting off topic, but apparently I've been under a rock and didn't know that Thrill Shot isn't operating anymore. Is this true?
  16. ^Agreed. I really think the GIB is underrated, especially on TPR. Sure, Aftershock is still a rough, headbangy Vekoma coaster, but it is pretty thrilling and I enjoy riding it. The front and back make for a great ride, and I hope that more people get to ride Aftershock so that they can see how it's not as bad as the original Deja vus. EDIT: Really late, I know, but I was there about a week after it opened. Lost the photos with my old computer, though.
  17. Hope TPR enjoys Wisconsin! Never got a chance to go there, but I'd love to go there some day!
  18. I learned from a ride op at Silverwood who ran Aftershock that Silverwood mechanics managed to fix a major glitch in the cable system, and so it reduced downtime from 80% to 3%. Along with that, I *THINK* it's a tiny bit smoother that it was at Deja vu, especially comparing it to the one at SFMM. ^Agreed! It really does fit in well, and with the fixes it isn't nearly as unreliable. It adds a great thrill to Silverwood that really completes the park very well.
  19. This looks pretty funky... then again, funky is > or = awesome! For the 1,000,000th time, I'm so exited to be moving to Italy, especially with stuff like this!
  20. The new screen looks good, even with the base.
  21. ^Was Aftershock open at all during the night? (Drum roll.... )
  22. This is definitely an improvement over SFW Version 1.0. Can't wait to see more!
  23. Aftershock at Silverwood.
  24. ^Not bad. Much better than mine, which I don't know how to make...
