Six Flags Over Georgia Horror Cave
Brandy524 replied to Brandy524's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You're welcome! I don't like them myself. I'm a big chicken! Although as an adult this one doesn't look that bad, but as I child I bet it was terrifying. Glad someone here remembers it! I probably would have kept my eyes closed, too. Heck, the swamp of the Monster Plantation scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. I kept my eyes closed in that part. There is no way I would ever go to HHN! -
Researching Monster Mansion characters on Google I found a page that mentioned a Horror Cave walk-through at SFOG in the 70's. I had never heard of it before so I did a little more research and came across this set of pictures on Flickr. Apparently a lot of children were traumatized by this attraction in the 70's! I've come across multiple blogs and message board descriptions of scarred childhoods. Anyway, I searched here and didn't find anything, and thought you guys would enjoy these pictures. Here's a discussion of it on Flickr, with detailed description: http://www.flickr.com/groups/dark_rides/discuss/61777/ And here's the photo set: http://www.flickr.com/photos/26463067@N04/2507499921/in/set-72157605152942116/ Anyone here remember it?

Photo TR: Divv's First Visit To Disneyland!

Very nice report! -
This! As parents of 5 and 6 year old girls, my husband and I have been forced to watch a lot of kids' shows, and yes, we appreciate the humor in some of them that is intended for the parental viewers. But then again, we wouldn't be watching these shows if we didn't have 5 and 6 year old girls. And we certainly wouldn't be purchasing toys of the characters. I guarantee you my husband would not know the theme songs to iCarly and Victorious and Ruby Gloom if we didn't have daughters. It's not about stereotyping that it's only for girls; if boys want to watch a show about ponies, no problem. It's about grown men watching and obsessing over a children's show, and then going out and collecting ponies that 5-year-old girls play with. That's disturbing to me.

What an amazing look at the park! And I agree with everyone else, awesome quality of the pictures. You did a great job restoring them! -
My husband and I watch Adventure Time. This is not a valid argument. Adventure Time is not written for 5-year-old girls. You're missing the "target audience" factor here. That's the huge difference. It would be like saying, what's the huge difference in watching a show meant for little girls and watching Family Guy. Just because they're both cartoons doesn't mean that they're basically the same. Point not taken.

Danny and I went to see TDKR Saturday night and were highly impressed. I think Nolan did a great job wrapping up the trilogy and tying everything in together. Loved it!

I'm not necessarily limited to Wal-Mart. I'm just not a bar person, so I want something I can enjoy at home. There are some convenience stores around here that carry craft beers but I have no idea what to look for or if they'll even have it. We have a local brewery, Back Forty Beer, but I've only tried one of theirs and it's been a long time.

I tried Sam Adams Summer Ale and actually liked it. I was surprised. Any suggestions similar to it? Wal-Mart was sold out when I went back to get more this past weekend, so I tried Wild Blue Blueberry Lager. It was meh. A little too much bitter aftertaste. And Danny has been drinking Yuengling Light Lager and is really enjoying it.

We watched Chronicle last weekend. It was interesting. I wasn't blown away by it, but the story was intriguing. I didn't necessarily like the ending, though. Also watched Wanderlust on Tuesday night. A few good laughs. Paul Rudd is pretty funny. No blockbuster, of course, but I wasn't expecting it to be. A good amount of nudity, too, but not of anyone you really want to see.

Do they use Corningware or Tupperware? BAHAHAHA...that's what I get for not proofreading! My husband said he's read bad reviews of Brave. But it's Pixar so it can't be all bad. I still want to see it and my girls definitely want to see it! EDIT: Got rid of my double post. Oops!

I got a free Redbox code yesterday and I can't pass up a free rental so I picked up This Means Ware. It was a fun movie. Nothing award-winning, of course, but it had a few good laughs. Chris Pine and Tom Hardy were pretty funny playing off each other (and not bad to look at, either), and Reese Witherspoon was gorgeous, as always. It was a chick flick with a little bit of spin to appeal to men as well.

Looks really good! I, however, am always scared to eat meat that's pink.

I so wish this wasn't all the way in California! Cars is Danny's favorite Pixar movie. Great pictures, Erik! -

Loved the Divertical video. And that stunt show was insane! I can't believe they just stuck you guys in the cars! Would that ever happen in the U.S.? -
We Redboxed Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows Saturday night. It was too confusing. The story, what little there was, was so convoluted you couldn't keep up with what was going on. I do love the relationship between Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law, though. They play off each other well. However that wasn't enough to keep me interested, and I ended up falling asleep, which is not a good endorsement. Danny also rented Red Tails, but I was already asleep by the time he put that one on so I didn't see any of it.
