The adventure of Lil' Robby Robb
DerekRx replied to FLIPDUDE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh no! Looks like Guy is coming to join me in that great amusement park in the beyond. I'll save you a diet Pepsi, Guy! -
After getting home and mowing the grass, it was time for more beer! (ok, in reality any time is time for beer) Beer good, Napster bad! With dinner comes some IPA After BBW, even grandma wanted some beer. Victory lager was the winner Maybe I should have had 2 of these! #9 in my 05 BBW mug. Looks half empty, but that's what a 22oz glass does!

The shows may stink, but that's why they only last a season or two, otherwise they get old and stupid. I didn't really watch the dive show this year other than what I saw in line for the Auto Race, but I kinda think any dive show is stupid. Who wants to watch people get refreshed in a nice pool while you're sitting there baking in the heat watching them. I've got my own Dive Spectacular that includes my Grand Finale Rapid Fire Nestea Plunge Assault. Truly its better than the dive show at Kennywood.

Can I be the official celebrity pharmacist to Guy?

Yeah the place was a dump the time I stopped there too, but at least the coaster was running. Paid my $5, rode it once, and left. The ride was pretty good, running brakeless. At the same time though, it ran brakeless....at Pedroland! I feared for my life. Oh and yes, I had to find an employee to run it for me. That was one of the best trips ever: Drive boss's wife to Baltimore in her car from Gainesville. Got random obscure coaster credit while she needed a smoke break, drove a Range Rover, got paid $500, and got flown home for free.

Flamingo Land Discussion Thread

I didn't really care for Magnum Force, especially with its stupid restraints. As sad as I was not having Bullet to ride this time, both Kumali AND Velocity were really a lot of fun, both better than Magnum Force, and more comfortable! Yeah Joe, I rode Bullet and Magnum Force AND Kumali and Velocity! -
Photo TR: Theme Park Review goes to COMIC CON!!!!
DerekRx replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
And that's what I had at dinner...I figured all the TPR "beer nuts" would approve! --Robb That brings a tear to my eye! Thanks for making my day by drinking a Fat Tire. With Fat Tire, Sam Adams, and Pyramid Hefe on tap, I may have to look into this place, though since it IS San Diego, I think I'll be good with Stone, Alesmith, Pizza Port, etc. Looks like you made the most out of it, thanks for sharing the fun with us! (next time, more Transformers stuff!) -
So since I've never been there, wanted to see the woman, and had to get to Albany to see family anyway that weekend, I decided to make Seabreeze a good place to visit this weekend. The 5 hour drive on Friday night wasn't bad, but the weather on Saturday was. Rained the whole day in the area, which was good for lite crowds, but not if you wanted to enjoy the park. We ended up doing all the coasters and then left, as I didn't want to be too wet for my 3 hour drive. The park reminds me of Waldameer. Little park, lots of classic rides, couple of coasters, both with spinning Mauer Sohnes, etc. Waldameer seems like a more complete park, but as of right now Seabreeze has the better coaster selection, as Bobsled is just weird and fun, and Jack Rabbit is way better than Comet. Will this be the case once Waldameer gets RF2? I also attempted to go to Sylvan Beach outside of Syracuse on my way to Albany, but the park was closed because of the weather. And so, 40 minutes later we were finished with the park, and off to get dry near the mall! No Bear Trax for us, guess we'll have to save that for when we have children The rain really helped speed up the ride, but also really hurt when we rode in the front. Next time I'll wear glasses, thanks! Not the greatest trains on the planet, but still lots of fun considering how old it is Jack Rabbit was a surprisenly good woodie, even the girl who didn't know it was only 70 out wanted to reride The flumey flume has an olden classican looken to its droppenen The train and the log flume go through the same pond area "I go upside down, gimme some candy!" Yup, mini-Tumblebug. In 50 years it will turn into a real Tumblebug and Todd Long will try to save it The park has some bumper cars, which are used for bumping French Canadians who try to invade our country Ooooh, Gyrosphere, the best musty smelling indoor Scrambler in Rochester And a classic cuddle up, but since it wasn't covered, we didn't ride it The park also has a nice carousel We spun pretty good, probably because once again they were only allowing 2 people per car because of the rain. And still has a moment of "90 degrees!" Though not as good as Dragon's Fury, its still a load of fun! Next up is Whirlwind, the spinning coaster If Balder is a steel coaster, is this a woodie? Which was still only like 15 minutes, but there were only like 15 people in front of us! Only 2 cars are allowed on the track at a time, and only 2 people per car when its raining, so the wait was the longest of the day It looks like it used to be a side friction coaster First stop, quirky Bobsled with its steel track, wooden frame, and bad capacity Through the turnstyle and Nicole is already not digging the rain So here's Seabreeze, in all its wetness

So after 3 full days of driving at least 3 hours, I found myself passing Bethlehem Brew Works on the way home. Couldn't pass off a stop there for lunch! The main reason I stopped by, to pick up my 2005 mug Double-fisted Belch! Went great with my lobster salad sandwich and beer battered fries But since the waiter screwed up, I got the pint for free! Time to double-fist blueberries! More volume for cheaper makes me happy Ah, much better (and taller!) This doesn't look like a nice new mug!? I think I'll have a Blueberry Belch in my new mug

I last left off at Fridays on Friday with some Sam. Saturday took me to Albany after lunch in Rochester. Followed by the Saranac Mountain Ale, lots of fruitiness and honey, etc. More like 1/2 average beer, 1/2 fruit punch On the way to my aunt's outside of Albany I stopped off to pick up some local stuff, Saranac. Started out with the Summer Ale, refreshing but not much to write home about And some Nicole for dessert Which went well with my chipotle smoked chicken enchiladas At a Houlihan's in Victor (near Rochester) I enjoyed a Sam Adam's Summer Ale, complete with orange slice

^As Captain of BACT, all I can say is "woohoo!" So tonight I ended up in Rochester, which is in Western New York as Nicole just informed me. I drove straight from work, so no dinner for me until 10pm when I finally got here. Luckily there's a Fridays right next to the hotel! And she's drinking some fruity volcano something or other, but she really just wanted to pull a Ted Cromwell with the glass! Sweet, Nicole is at this Friday's too! Lou, this Sam Adams is for you. Happy B-day! "I can get food AND beer!" Hooray, its always Fridays in there! Even on....Friday :I

Sweet! If Shannon doesn't come with a wound kit, I'll just have to drill a hole in her upper torso and grab some red nail polish. I guess Sayid will come in wave 2, along with Eko and The Hatch playset

Happy birthday, Lou. I'll have a drink for you tonight, in like 10 minutes!

^Some people just don't understand you, forgive them.

Anagram of your name or screen name!
DerekRx replied to USRoadTripper's topic in Random, Random, Random
My screen name produced nothing that interesting, but my full name gave me: a adherent junk thro -
I just got me the Neo-Geo Pocket, its amazing! I gotta go get more batteries though so I can play for longer than an hour. This N-Gage sounds interesting too, its also a PHONE!? How do you plug it into a wall to talk on it? Wowzers!

Its a good ride, if the cycle is long its even better (Kennywood's blows Thorpe's version out of the water because of the longer cycle). The restraints are comfortable and not too restricting, lots of open air feeling. Great speed and height too, but gosh those things are loud! They sound like Jeff Johnson snoring.

I loved the BTTF movies, and originally the ride was pretty cool. Now its old and stupid and rough. Combine that with the fact that "the future" they're traveling to is less than 10 years away and the whole thing seems hokey. Not too sure a Simpson's ride would be a good idea either at this point, as I think they're pretty much on the way out of the trend. As long as the new ride isn't a simulator, it should be better than BTTF.

If it is a Jr Hyper from B&M, I sure hope they don't use the French Canadian Goliath stats, but more like Southern Belle Goliath would be nice. The coolest part no matter what is that I'll get to ride it next year! We can always hope it will be a Dutch Goliath design though, with the same manufacturer! Intamin hypers can have 9 cars holding 4 people per car. Though with Universal's relationship with B&M, they'll probably go that way! Damn B&M and their good customer service and reliability!

Name chosen for new BGE coaster?
DerekRx replied to Jon Sabo's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Cool name, it still somewhat fits the bird theme, but at the same time has some monsterousness to it. For short, I'll call it 'Peter'. Looking forward to the logo! Soon time to Fear The Five (again) -
For me, "Beer" by Psychostick

I think its all in the original design and transitions that make the older Vekomas so much rougher. Even the newest SLC still uses the old design and is rougher than the other competitors rides. Combine that with the trains with gaps between the wheels and the track and that just amplifies the roughness.
