The new GCII in Finland will use magnetic brakes too! I voted for Lightning Racer because its just plain fun, though Rebel Yell gave me some surpisingly good rides in March.

IMHO this all comes back to the industry and economy taking a fall after 9/11. Its just finally catching up for some parks, even as both the economy and industry are gaining strength again

^ They did buy Geagua I don't know, the park most likely drew about 3 million this year and maybe its just me but the combined attendance of the waterpark and safari being a million is reasonable to me. Yea 5 mil does seem pretty outrageous. Dorney's not in competition with the park? What about the large chunk of patrons who come from metro Philly? Six Flags actually cites Dorney (along with Hershey) as the park's main competition. The only thing I'm an expert at is quoting family guy

I'm not sure its quite 5 million but 4+ is reasonable once you factor in the waterpark and wildlife park, which are seperate admissions (and not included in that figure )

Magic Mountain is not the same kind of park as Cedar Point, the only sort of competition they have going is for the most coasters in one park. They aren't drawing from each others pool of visitors though SF St. Louis - Worlds of Fun? SF Great Adventure - Dorney? SF Magic Mountain - Knott's? Six Flags parks don't allow you to film onride unless you have special permission. I think if you were to combine certain practices of each corporation you could get a kickass chain but for now I'll actually take SF, especially if RZ takes over (it's close too!!! )
