  1. ^you lost 3 pounds in the last 2 months! The average person of your size can do that with one trip to the bathroom. Beemer Boy - no congrats are in order
  2. Lou - Did you explain to the Japanese gentleman what the difference is between a prostitue and a porn star? I haven't seen bathroom shots that good since Blue Man Group opened at Universal. Makes me wonder if anyone got shots of the uni-sex bathroom in the Barcelona mall during the Spain Trip.
  3. I occassionally catch bits and pieces of the show at a friend's house, as my friends have two daughters aged 13 and 10 who love Hannah Montana. While her singing is not anything I would typical listen to the pre-teen girls love her. For the record I did hear Miley Cyrus singing a capella on a New Years' (or maybe Christmas) Parade this year and I was impressed with her delivery.
  4. If you have very little debt than you are not the typical dumb American! Gov't and giraffes rule!
  5. I stayed there at the Days Inn in 2006 and it was definitely low budget.
  6. Did Ryan have a stroke? He always has that look on his face.
  7. and I could have been annointed King of Spain
  8. ^the definition of the word park on that trip is very sketchy
  9. ^Spam has a big following in Hawaii. FACT!
  10. 3 parks in a day on the UK Trip 2006 Robb and Elissa managed the group at 3 parks in the UK. Although Yarmouth and Joyland were in close proximity most of the group walked the 20 minutes between the parks, which will be similar to a 30 minutes bus ride between Lakemont and DelGrosso's. Having been to the 3 parks as part of the UK Trip and comparing them to these 3 US parks I would say you will spend the same amount of time on the bus in the US as we did in the UK. There are an equal number of must see and do attractions at the 3 US parks as the UK parks. You will probably want to hustle around Lakemont and Idlewild if you want to do everything, but you can rest on the bus between parks.
  11. Does Stunt Fall require less maintenance because they always block off the first and last rows? Or were the closed rows a unique occurence that TPR encountered in 2007.
  12. ^^thanks for the support Rich Let me re-iterate. I never said I was glad the guy is dead, personally I don't care. The death of an actor I don't know doesn't mean much to me. I'm just glad that his death will not add to the costs that the average movie goer has to pay the upcoming film. Hey if anyone wants to pay more to see a movie in the theater, more power to you.
  13. I glad the shooting for this movie is finished so this self absorbed drug abuser does cost the equally greedy and blood sucking Hollywood studios additional money to finish the film. This common man really doesn't need the costs of attending movies to be driven up any further.
  14. DCody - Congrats and good luck at the Oscars
  15. Right Big Thunder Railroad, Big Thunder Railroad, Big Thunder Railroad or how about Space Mountain, Space Mountain, Space Mountain Disney might pay a lot of attention to detail, but they don't take the time to give similar rides different names at each of their parks, so I don't see the relevance of bringing up Disney in this thread.
  16. The day I went to DelGrosso's it was a 30 minute wait for the Crazy Mouse and the Wacky Worm wait was expected to be 45 minutes (I did not ride the Wacky Worm).
  17. The whole concept of "tomorrow" seems so much harder to project these days than it was years ago. I say return some older attractions and rename it "yesterdayland" Edit: let me re-phrase. Some of the major futuristic themes talked in the real world nowadays such as genetically engineered food, global warming, cloning and stem cell research might not be the most family friendly Disney topics. At least comparitively to the old vision of the future which was mostly about outer space. I guess attractions could be rethemed around future energy sources and some other positives, but space travel just held everyone's attention in the past.
  18. I hear you, in this day and age the investment community and enthusiasts pick-up PR releases and make a big deal out of nothing. Years ago before the internet many people wouldn't even know about this "news" and it would be transparent to enthusiasts. I'm just trying to help show a lot of the younger ones who don't have the business acumen how this might play out.
  19. It might sound strange, but not any more strange than having an official sausage (Premio) or soft drink (Coke). Utilizing one supplier yields pricing efficiencies and if structured properly the deal can provide free advertising for Six Flags.
  20. Let's all try to help The Alveys and their guests. The poster is clearly from a foreign country and probably does have a great understanding of where the parks are in relation to each other, which rcdb.com doesn't solve. We should do our best to be courteous to the Alveys new guest as he is asking Robb and Elissa for help. I'm pretty sure R&E don't want us being rude to their new guests. With that said. In Las Vegas, I would prioritize the attractions: #1 - Stratosphere #2 - Speed at Sahara Casino #3 - Adventuredome at Circus Circus (while not the most thrilling it is more ecomonical and less painful than #4 - New York, New York's coaster If you a driving from Las Vegas to to Los Angeles you will pass Buffalo Bills Casino in Primm, Nevada right before you arrive in California. This is the home of Desperado, one of the first 200 foot coasters. Between Los Angeles and the San Francisco area there are not any major parks until you are just south of San Francisco. In Santa Cruz you can find the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (which is my favorite amusement park on a bordwalk in the US) and then Great America between Santa Cruz and San Francisco. I assume you also know about Disneyland, Disney's California Adventure and Knott's Berry Farms which are also in the Los Angeles area. I hope this helps
  21. It might sound funny, but in times of belt tightening, this arrangment could help offset some of the reductions SF is making in their advertising budget. Six Flags will have the ability to cross promote on a national basis with a national food distributor. You are right in that it might sound like much at first but it could be a plus for SF, if Tyson promotes the sponsorship. In the US consumers are bombarded with advertising and many people are numb to typical advertising. Promotions become a way for marketers to break through clutter.
  22. Hey where are the pictures of the GrandMilf?
  23. Sorry buddy, but you'll be in the middle of coaster hell. In my opinion, the closest really must-see park about 3 hours away in Knoebels. Phoenix is consistently ranked one of the best woodies in Mitch's poll (and #1 in my mind) and Twister is a very good woodie also. Although the feel of the park is very boardwalk-ish it is worth the trip if you can make it.
  24. I know I'm stating the obvious to the TPR members. In my fantasy world (I guess it's the 1920's) every beach should have a carousel, ferris wheel, wooden roller coaster, a real boardwalk, games of chance and great food. Leave it up the market dynamics to determine if an area could sustain more.
