  1. It's difficult to get a good deal in Hershey. Check out hotel prices in the area via travelocity, orbitz or hotels.com then try hotwire. I got a great deal about 20 miles away from Hershey last year. Also, got great deals for other locales where I'll be meeting up with the East Coasters.
  2. At 30 posts your title becomes - I love donkeys At 100 posts your title becomes - Full Fledged Donkey Enthusiast At 500 posts your title becomes - Donkeys are my way of life At 1,000 posts your title becomes Bonafide Donkey Expert The Tile Fairy is a 78 year old of unknown gender who lives in Magical Fariy Land. Other than the fact that the Title Fairy is perturbed by annoying and stupid people not much else is known of this mythical creature.
  3. Shawn - It looks similar to other mountain coasters, but with attached cars and a very slow speed. There is one on the East Coast at Jiminy Peak in Massachusetts. I say count it. Personally, I consider it a coaster even though it's is not currently listed on RCDB. It's gravity powered and runs on a track. Then again Freefalls also are gravity powered on a track but I don't consider them coasters.
  4. ^^I don't remember being awake for any part of that craptacular ride!
  5. I'll be at your "dump" tonight watching the All Star Game - boo yah
  6. DIE! DIE! DIE! I was still hurting quite a bit from completing all the ropes courses.
  7. Thanks for the pictures and insight. I am in the process of adding Happy Valley Shenzhen to TPR's Park Index page.
  8. ^I'm pretty sure you are stuck with your current title until the year 2012.
  9. It's great to see some parks that are not regulared covered in TPR. Keep up the good work.
  10. Great PTR JimmyBo as usual - I added it to the TPR Park Index
  11. ^wait times vary by day. I went the Sunday directly after the MidWest trip ended. By noon line were long: TTD and MF were 2 hours, Maverick was 90 minutes, Magnum was even 30-45 minutes.
  12. Are you sure you were in NYC? You can't throw a rock without hitting a hot dog cart. Now granted we have high quality franks and don't ruin them by sticking a salad in the bun.
  13. It was a rental! Chuck - your captions for the gargoyle pictures rock!
  14. Nice pictures - I do remember elephant rides at Circus World in Florida but that was in an enclosed area, not on the midway
  15. maybe a flat ride, that way they will only be short 9 flats instead of 10.
  16. Nice variety of photos - I have added this PTR to the Park Index Page.
  17. Maybe you should consider looking at the situation in a different light if you don't see the problem of allowing knives into parks. I agree your additional security points are valid, but to say that a weapon used in a violent act is not a problem just doesn't make any sense.
  18. FYI - Wet n Wild is completed. One suggestion for anyone who writes a PTR with multiple parks, videos, etc... would be to create links or a legend on the first page of your thread like these examples: PTR with links to individual content PTR with a legend directing readers to page #s of specific content It makes for a much better viewing experience. As Robb stated, the mods/ASSistants are working hard to get all park loaded up and there will be a mechanism in place in the near future to assist us in sharing PTRs/Videos of missing parks. Many International parks are already in our queue to fix including much of Australia, Thailand, Korea, and some parks in central Europe and Japan). The mods have been working on the parks from the previous Park Index first along with the ones we are most familiar with first for the BETA testing. Unfortunately, many of the mods have not been to Australia and Thailand parks yet. Although great PTRs allow everyone to live vicariously through other's journeys.
  19. Somethng else a lot of people might not know - LeMonstre has the worst operations of any wooden coaster.
  20. Reanie - thanks for having the quick reflexes to snap these dramatic photos as we were being ushered away from the scene. What a great end to a day of coastering. FYI - Rich, Melanie and I missed you on Sunday but we had no evacs.
  21. Robb - Looks great you must have some rabid monkeys drinking Jolt cola working through the night to get this done.
  22. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=35010 Shawn - this thread might be helpful to you in case R&E don't have time to respond. They are pretty crazed right now after traveling for a couple of days and preparing to lead the TPR Europe Trip which they leave for in under a week. You might even try to PM the author of the linked thread, Andy Korb is very knowledgable.
