"Lazer" becomes the first IKEA coaster
Kennyweird replied to Kooky's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's nice to see the Laser has a new home, although it's too far away for me to ride it. -

^ It can't be because some of the track sections have a groove for a catch-car. But then again, you probably weren't being serious, were you? -
Photo TR: The Most Complete Jolly Roger TR Ever
Kennyweird replied to printersdevil78's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I believe that's at Trimper's Rides. There's a small, compact single loop coaster at one of the parks there I believe. The compact looping coaster is at Jolly Roger at the Pier. I saw it when I was there last July, but never rode it. -
Is it something from a seat belt?

Photo TR: Cliff's (Albuquerque, NM)
Kennyweird replied to dj snow's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Great Photo TR. I remember passing by Cliffs on the way to Philmont last August. Looks like a great little park, I wish our crew had the time to visit, but unfortunately, we had an itinerary to follow. -
I lol'd.

I'm just pointing out the obvious: Humans suck at operating machines. Computers do it better! If you think I'm dancing on graves, you've figured me wrong. Bring on Skynet! Unfortunately, computers can't think, that's why even the most sophisticated transportation systems usually have a human monitoring them. But yeah, it looks like the WDW monorail system could use some more computerization.

What have you been hit in the head with?

^This is generally when you should start giving hints.

What is your next park?
Kennyweird replied to onewheeled999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Idlewild, probably sometime next week. -
Today me and my cousin were in downtown Pittsburgh, so we decided to go check out Anthrocon, the weird furry convention they hold every year at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Me and my cousin both agreed, it was one of the weirdest and funniest things we've ever seen. (no offense to any furries out there)

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
Kennyweird replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ I guess what some of us are trying to say is that a launched wooden coaster would just feel "wrong". I know, that's a pretty lame reason, but wooden coasters and steel coasters have traditionally given different ride experiences, and combining those two, IMO, would just produce a ride that feels stitched together and incredibly gimmicky. -
Idiot Ride Ops.
Kennyweird replied to kidcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I thought the ride ops at Lakemont park seemed like they weren't paying much attention, but then again, I might be mistaking boredom for inattentiveness. -

that would be pretty awesome. But i guess they would have to redo the track thin so they dont fly off the track, maybe add a set of wheels underneath? id personally be fine with just magnetic braking and a traditional lift hill. Six flags needs to upgrade their wooden's to this because they love to get you goin as fast as possible then slam you into the brake run. Ummm, you do realize that virtually all wooden coasters have up-stops, right? I don't see any problem with a launched wooden coaster, but it does seem kind of silly. I mean, why bother with a launched woodie when you can have a launched steel coaster with inversions? -
How did you get your screen name?
Kennyweird replied to waterviper's topic in Random, Random, Random
Mine's a combination of "Kennywood" and "weird". Don't ask me why, it was late and I was tired. -
Some kind of motor?
-
