  1. Well then I guess we just have to wait and see what happens.
  2. Yes...and thought it was "okay" Can you understand Batman in The Dark Knight?b
  3. HRP can fix all their problems with one word.... AQUATRAX
  4. ^Then that's not really a splashdown. One fin of the train dipping into the water isn't going to create a splash. Concept art is just that. A concept. It isn't set in stone. I'm not saying the splashdown WILL BE exactly like how all there other ones are...but I'm just saying it's likely
  5. ^I've come across this book before and I had no intent of reading it. I've worked in the rides department for two separate parks (see signature) and first hand seeing the good with the bad, the light with the heavy and the black with the white. I have very seldom seen a rider injury or even employee injuries for that matter caused by the rides themselves. Do people get hurt on rides? I'd be lying if I said no, but "hurt" is a subjective term. Who decides what hurt is? Is there a cut-off point between "you can walk it off" and "oh my God! This lady needs a doctor!" According to many douchebag journalists and bitter ex-employees who got fired for selling used flash passes, no. To everyone else, we'd ask why a go-cart in a family fun center in Malibu has anything to do with three major world know theme park comapnies three states over. Why did the article not list any injuries specifically? As for the "conflict of interest", no one's coming to your park if they think they're going to die there. No one comes, you don't make any money. Seeing how the number one rule of running a business is to turn a profit, I'm going to go on a limb and say that Parks would protect their investments by making them safe, reliable, and most importantly profitable. A guest that's alive and not on a stretcher is a guest that can still reach their wallet. It's jackasses like the one who writes articles like this, douchebags who write books like this, and dumb guest who try to sue because they pinched their finger between a seatbelt on their restraints that need to be fired out of cannon directly into the sun. They will not be missed and frivilous lawsuits would be no more.
  6. Maverick in its innagural season-5 hour wait....but there were only about 35 people ahead of me. It lives up to the Intamin name. X in it's innagural year. The line started by Panda Express with 1 (yes, count it ONE) train. I'm too embarassed to say how long I waited. Medusa West, a week ago-slower than molasses on a cold day crew basically made me wait an hour for Scream.
  7. ^I don't think it will be any different than how B&M does splashdowns now. I'm thinking the train goes fly-to-lie, and splashes down with the train inverted, leaving the track facing much like a dive machine splash.
  8. I like how Tatsu is running three trains in the off season too
  9. This is more of a concept than a rumor, but I think B&M should go wood. Though they may have a penchant for the tiered seated hyper and the time tested invert now, but if anybody can pull off a 200+ft woodie and comfort remains a priority, it's the Neutrals. Sure Psyclone was a flop, but B&M didn't fabricate the track. Let's see what happens in the coming years.
  10. Only when they carry guns bigger than mine Have you ever met someone famous and not cared?
  11. I have a long list of rants, so if your reading this, go to the bathroom now, because it'll be a while... Personalized License Plates: It's not the plates themselves that annoy the hell out of me. Some are cool, witty, and sometimes a little dirty. Where my beef is, in California you have seven digits to work with, including spaces. If you can't fit a message in those seven digits, DON'T GET THE DAMN THING!! I mean, if it's for other people to read, what's the point of getting one if YOUR the only person who knows what it means? If you buy your daughter a car and get her plates that read "LUV4JEN", you can figure out the premise for that. but something like "BLMGEMY" (Black Man Gettin' Money) Who's gonna know? YOU? If it can't fit in the seven digits, just get a damn decal sticker on the back windshield. It cost less and you have more space. Idiots. Carpool Lanes. A Woman who is driving her 13 year old son to soccer practice, ten year old daughter to ballet rehersal and 5 year old son to daycare can use the carpool lane....legally. I ask, WHY? Do any of her passengers help allieviate traffic? Are the people she is carpooling with taking any cars off the road and cause less driving? No. The carpool lane should be reserved for two more more LICENSED DRIVERS. That's what a carpool is, a collective of motorists who alternate the task of driving to lower the amounts of cars on the road. Driving little brats around not only doesn't help, but probably causes UNNECESSARY driving. Handicaped/Disabled Passes at Amuesment Parks (Or Neglect Thereof) Period point blank. If you don't like waiting in line. Don't go. Spend the day at a jungle gym, or Shakey's. Go for a walk on the beach, but don't go to a large crowd, complain how big the crowd is, then neglect a system for disabled people, then complain when you find out the system doesn' allow you to get "right on" to rides. Jackasses. Black Guys With Mohawks Since Puffy did it, now everyone thinks it's cool? Machine heads who take the time to grow elaborate mohawks look cool. People who grow their hair out for three weeks and get a fade and leave a tuft of hair on the top of their heads look like douchebags. People in L.A. complaining about high gas prices. If gas is still so high, why is the 405 still the world's biggest parking lot everyday at 5pm? Why does it take me an hour to get to Dodger Stadium when I only live 11 miles away? Why is there still drag racing and crusing on Crenshaw Blvd?
  12. 2007 Riddler's Revenge crew...I'm the (only) black guy in the picture. If you saw a ride op putting the smackdown on h/c's at Riddler's or Tatsu last year, mor than likely it was me!
  13. My GF has been bugging the hell out of me lately. The issue I have is, she's way too clingy. I know why she is, so I don't blame her and I can't get upset or anything, but I still can't let it go either. She grew up with two rather lackluster parents, and as a result she has attachment issues. It's like we'd be hanging out at her house, and She gets sad when I get up to go to the bathroom or leave the room. It drives me crazy, but at the same time I know she only does it because I don't think anyone else has ever really "loved" her. I know that sucks because after years of neglect like that you can't repair it with a romantic relationship. But me being the person I am I can't walk away from that with a clean conscience. I guess I'm screwed.
  14. Lincoln,Nebraska-Family reunion. 2002 Cleveland, Ohio-Why else, the Cavs? 2007 Las Vegas, Nevada-To get poop-faced drunk-2007 Dallas/Ft. Worth-Six Flags trip-2008 *Charlotte, North Carolina (Plane layover)2007 Pennsyilvania state line-Bad directions to Cleveland Hopkins
  15. Get well NOW!!! It hurts when a fellow coaster nerd gets injured. GP gets their head knocked off and I hope the train doesn't get dented. But fellow coaster nerds? Sucks to hear, but things will get better.
  16. ^Eats dogs before they plump VIs waiting for Desperate Housewives to start
  17. ^You can totally set up a haunted house in a bungalow.
  18. Of course! Thats' what I call good eatin! Do you think Afros are sexy?
  19. Medusa @SFDK....1 hour wait for a 8 year old floorless. If the ride didn't make up for it I'd been pissed! ...Wait! It sucked as much as Scream! I am pissed! (Shakes fist in anger and rants like fat ACEr)
  20. ^ I see. Thanks for explaining that. I've been to Cedar Point a few times and I just don't see why so many people have a boner for it. Sure they have some cool rides and run at full capacity, but so does Hershey, Busch Parks, Universal and Disney. I found them to be nicer and cleaner too. I thought Schlitterbahn was pretty cool. I liked the idea of natural running water vs. chlorine loaded. It's better than anything in California. Raging Waters is the Magic Mountain of water parks, and Knott's Soak City is like someone's backyard and the owner happened to leave the hose running.
  21. *Yawns*...Forgive me if i'm unfamiliar with how Amusement Today critiques these parks/rides, but their seems to be a lot of bias to it. What do they look for when they hand out these awards?
  22. ^I'm just fond of the term...it's the best PG-13 way to insult someone IMO
